Back to back episodes of The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines last night, so you all get back to back recaps! Picking up from episode five, Abram's confessional of his hatred for Johnny Bananas is played. He admits that he's never liked him and he doesn't trust him one bit. However, they're on the same team so they have to put their differences aside. Oh, but trust, there is a reason that MTV played this specifically for this episode!

The next day, the teams head to the beach for the next challenge called, "Family Connection." The objective is to carry balls from one side of the beach to other...using only their heads. Obviously, that proves to be quite a challenge for the teams. In the end though, the Red Team, once again, kills the Blue Team. It's a girl's elimination day, so both teams have to vote in a girl from the Blue Team.

Knowing that she would probably get voted in anyway, KellyAnne volunteers to go into The Pit. The Red Team votes in Nany, including Johnny, which shocks the house since they're supposed to be in cahoots! Since he and Nany have hooked up before, Johnny admits in the confessional that he voted for Nany simply because he didn't want to get in trouble with his girlfriend back home! Of course, Nany is hurt that Johnny betrayed her like this, and out of nowhere! Especially because of something so petty! I have an issue with this because Johnny make a big fuss last season when vets Sarah and Jordan sent him into elimination, and he wasn't expecting it because they were "friends." Now It's crazy that Nany would be the one facing KellyAnne in The Pit, right after Nany and Aneesa vowed to send her in.

At the elimination, Nany and KellyAnne play "Ring My Bell." The game consists of running back and forth to swing a mattress to ring a bell fifty times. I would probably keel over...I hate running! Surprisingly, KellyAnne manages to win, sending Nany and Nicole home! I wouldn't have expected that, but this game is filled with twists and surprises. Like next week, when both CT and Zach, Challenge vets, show up again, wearing gray shirts! I don't think they're joining the cast, and, since Zach was bald, they may be doing something in tribute to Diem Brown. Then again, you never know with this game!

Apparently, last night, while I was having a ball at the Jazmine Sullivan concert, MTV aired TWO new episodes back-to-back of The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines. So I'm playing major catch up right now. I'll be posting the other episode in another post, so this one won't be crazy long.

Picking up from last week, after the Red team's win in trivia, everyone heads off to deliberate who will be heading into The Pit. The vets plan to divide the male rookies, knowing that they're gunning for the vets. In a stupid move, Mike (Abram's brother) volunteers himself, but the Blue Team doesn't go along with his plan. Why would you even do that when you JUST got there? Why risk it?! Nany convinces several Blue Team members to throw in Raphy to break up the rookie alliance, and Johnny tries to get the Red Team to vote for Mitch. Perfect idea.

At nominations, the majority of the Blue Team does indeed vote for Raphy, even Aneesa, which pisses Cory off. He figured he could give her a little attention, and she would just go along with everything he said. What does he expect after the way he treated her? As the red team begins voting, Raphy and Dario lash out, with Dario eventually throwing low blows at Nany and Nicole. Nany tells this rookie repeatedly,"Know your role." to which he responds "The only role you know is on Johnny's lap." Disrespectful! The majority of the Red Team does indeed end up voting for Mitch, and the rookies are seriously mad now! Later, Johnny, Dario, Raphy, and Nany all get into a major argument about all this! Honestly, I really want Dario and Raphy to go home. I don't know them, and don't care to know them. They're annoying.

That night, as they go out, you can see that the house is clearly divided, with the rookies on one side of the bar and the vets on the other. Nany and Aneesa plan to get KellyAnne eliminated so they can make it to the final. They think she's just flirting with the rookies to get a free pass through the challenge! After seeing Aneesa glaring at her for a while, KellyAnne gets into it with her and KellyAnne get into it, with Aneesa throwing a drink in her face! They walk a way for a bit, but eventually get into it again. When Aneesa criticizes KellyAnne's looks, KellyAnne talks about Aneesa's "black skin," even touching her face! Aneesa pushes her, calling her a "racist anorexic." HOW DARE YOU KELLYANNE! Back at the house, even the rookies call her out for her comment! She's definitely not living that down. Shameful.

At The Pit, T.J. announces that Raphy and Mitch will be playing "My Way or the Highway," with the first contestant to pull an opponent's chain past their mark wins. Basically a huge game of tug of war but with chains attached to each guy's chest. It's definitely very physical and challenging. Raphy seems like he has it at first, but is using mostly his arms instead of his entire weight, which people pick up on. Mitch struggles, and even falls in the middle of the challenge himself though, causing Dario to think his brother won. He goes to celebrate with him, but the challenge wasn't over, dummy! That moment of distraction allowed Mitch to pull Raphy's chain and win the elimination, sending Dario and Raphy home. Pride goes before a fall, guys. Good riddance!

Jazmine Sullivan tore down the house at her stop back in the DMV last night (December 30) for The Reality Show Tour! I had actually just seen her at For Sisters Only in D.C. on Halloween, but surprised my sister on Christmas with tickets to see her! I had always liked Jazmine and thought she was a great singer. However, her third album, Reality Show was, to me, her career-defining album, and made me truly fall in love with her, so I was all too happy to go see her again.

Jazmine SHUT DOWN the Fillmore Silver Spring in Maryland, singing her heart out for her fans as well as opening up about her past experiences in love and learning to love herself again. It was an emotional, fun, incredible night, and I'll definitely be going to see here again.

Check out a few pics and videos below!

A new feature for the week (probably our last for 2015)! As always, if you or your client is interested in a feature on The Spotlight, please visit our Features/Submissions page for more information!

Today, we have alternative rock group, Reverse Order! The group was formed in 2008 by brothers John and Cruise Russo, who credit their parents for consistently surrounding them with music since they were little. After the film, School of Rock, was released, the two signed up for the Paul Green School of Rock, which began their journey as musicians. “We learned the music of all the great rock legends and got to perform at some major venues,” John said of the experience. “After performing a few shows, we knew this was something we wanted to do the rest of our lives and started to write our own music and Reverse Order was born!” Guitarist Drew Katsock was added to the group in 2010, after John and Cruise put out an ad looking for a new member. With John on guitar as well and providing lead vocals, and Cruise on drums with backing vocals, the group was finally complete.

Honing their skills and finding a great rhythm together, John, Cruise and Drew were able to bring their abilities as a group to the forefront on the seventh season of America’s Got Talent in 2012! They were able to work with a variety of top producers, vocal coaches, directors, stylists, and set designers who gave them great feedback and encouragement. “The feeling of going from a band who does everything themselves to having a team working with us was indescribable,” John admitted. “No matter what the outcome would be, we were having fun and the audience was too. That’s what it’s all about.” Though Reverse Order was eliminated in the quarterfinals, being on the show was an experience that they will never forget.

Inspired by bands like One Republic, Fall Out Boy, and The Killers, the band also believes that their travel experiences on tour has influenced their sound and lyrics as well. “Being on the road we’ve met so many incredible people, experienced so many incredible things, and have immersed ourselves in so many different cultures,” John stated. “It’s through those experiences we’ve grown and developed both individually, and as a band.” In their career thus far, they have performed internationally as a group in multiple countries, supported Third Eye Blind and Avril Lavigne, as well as performed on The Van’s Warped Tour and The Bamboozle Festival. They have also released a bunch of great music, including their Right Now and Made In America EPs!

Most recently, Reverse Order has released a new track entitled, “Erase You,” which was produced by multi-platinum producer and writer Matt Squire. As the group worked with Matt, their goal was to pick two songs that were already written to record, and then write a third song from scratch. John himself had been struggling to finish a specific song for over a year. When Matt heard a specific electronic demo, he immediately loved it, and sent John a few vocal clips of Matt’s humming different parts to the song. After Matt challenged John to write lyrics for the track overnight to record the next day, John somehow pulled the song out, and together, the group and Matt developed a great track. Check out "Erase You" below!

Balancing creating music and performing, Reverse Order also developed a non-profit called Reverse the Trend, which is an anti-bullying program that has been brought to over 400 schools and teen centers around the world. “What we do with Reverse the Trend is we perform a concert for the students, some of which have never and will never see a rock show, and then we speak to them about overcoming bullying and following their dreams in a safe and positive way,” John stated about the program. The group began tinkering with the idea shortly after their time on America’s Got Talent. As they were doing some performances at different high schools in the U.S., students would open up to them about their issues at school, and the group was able to relate. “Realizing how big of an issue bullying was we created the program, and started bringing it to as many schools as possible,” John said. In addition to this amazing program, Reverse Order is currently touring the States through May 2016, though they will be taking a break in January to work on new material. They are also looking into tours for the summer and fall of next year as well.

Reverse Order believes that it is their desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives that sets them apart from other artists and groups. We want people to leave our concerts feeling better then when they arrived,” John stated. “We support our fans just as much they support us by keeping in touch with them, and making ourselves available for them when they are going through a hard time and need someone to talk to.” It’s great to see that this group stands beside their fans, and has no problem giving time and energy to be there for them! Reverse Order’s goal as a group is to impact the world, garnering “that U2 level of success,” where they can sell out arenas but use their platform to continue to give back and make a difference!

You can check out more from Reverse Order on their official website, SoundCloud, and YouTube. You can also connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

Another great spotlight for you all before the holidays! As always, if you are an upcoming artist, designer, dancer, etc., and are interested in being featured on The Spotlight, please visit our Features/Submissions page for more information!

Today, we have singer Xav A.! He actually hails from Prince George's County, Maryland (the same area I'm from!), and began singing when he was little. "I loved singing since I was young, and I really wanted to be a performer," Xav said. As he got older, his voice changed, hitting a really low range. and he found that his voice was not an exact match for a lot of the hits he heard on the radio. "It ended up kind of motivating me to write and produce my own music," the singer said.

As he continued to hone his craft, Xav A. joined an all-male acapella group at his alma mater, Dartmouth College, called the Dartmouth Aires. "That really just started to shape and cultivate my talent, because I was performing so much," the artist stated. Xav admitted that the group was very silly and fun, and he actually absorbed a lot of that into his own artistry. The group even went on to compete in NBC's a capella competition, The Sing-Off, on the show's third season! The group won second place, runner up to Pentatonix, and it was an experience that Xav believes helped refine his talent. "With a show like that where you're performing a new song every week, a different dance every week, it was a lot of learning stuff way quicker that I had to at any other point," he admitted. "[It was a lot of] being 'on,' and performing at my highest level more often than I ever had to do."

Currently, Xav A. is working on his music independently, writing lyrics, composing music, and even choreographing! Inspired by artists like Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and even pop groups like NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys, the singer's work falls under alternative R&B, and is very laid back and great to jam to! His most recent track, "Lazy," is a prime example of Xav A.'s energetic style. "I actually wrote that song in my head when I was working at a retail job that I had," he laughed. "It was pretty literal at that point, like I would love to be doing anything else beside folding and cutting up boxes in the back of this store." On his break, he recorded his catchy tune on his phone and later developed it into a full song! He also created a colorful, fun video for the track (his very first music video in fact) which you can check out below!

"Lazy" was actually the lead track from Xav's EP, Full Circle, which he released in September 2015. The singer called the project the culmination of a "long, musical journey." After moving to NYC after graduating from Dartmouth, his R&B music wasn't as well-received as he had hoped. He then turned to creating pop music, but his heart wasn't really into it. "This EP really speaks to me trying to really come back to R&B, which is a style that I love to sing the most," Xav said, stating that his full circle journey from R&B to pop and back to R&B inspired the title. Drawing from 90s/early '00s R&B and go go music, the artist is developing good music that listeners will easily vibe to. "I really want them to see that I have a talent that I want to go down in history like that music has gone down in history," he said. "I'm trying to create something that is bigger than myself, and so this is really the start of me diving in and trying to create that. Just something that can be legendary."

Currently, Xav A. is working on a full-length album, reaching out within the NYC community to create awesome, classic music. In terms of what sets him apart from other artists, Xav states that his appearance is more vibrant and care-free, and that his music is more vulnerable than other R&B artists out right now. In the future, Xav would love to be running his own live shows, creating a grand experience, complete with video, costumes, and dancers, that listeners will love, an idea that he's actually working on now. "I think once that's created then people will really be able to see my vision and understand where I'm coming from," the artist stated.

You can check out more from Xav A. on his official website, as well as YouTube and SoundCloud. You can also connect with him on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

Three teams got knocked out in ONE episode of The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines last night. Yes, THREE. Picking up from last week, Tony is taken to the hospital after passing out, as the cast continues to walk towards The Pit. T.J. announces that, because Candice broke her toe, she and Leroy have to go home! The two emotionally say their goodbyes, and T.J. announces that they will still be having the elimination anyway!

As the elimination continues, T.J. states that Larissa and Jenna will be playing Door Slammer. There is a giant door in the middle of The Pit. The two girls will try to slam the door on each other, and the best two out of three wins. Unfortunately, Jenna's just bigger and stronger, and she easily wins, sending Larissa and Camila home. It sucks because, to me, Jenna shouldn't have even been there in the first place, and now a true competitor is going home. What's worse, is that Camila was on the winning team of the previous challenge, and still had absolutely no hand in her fate. This game has one of the craziest formats in Challenge history, and I've been watching for quite a long time now.

That night, production wakes up Shane to tell him that Tony wants him at the hospital, causing eyebrows to raise. Production doesn't really get involved unless it's something serious! Meanwhile during the day, there's flirting and hookups galore going on in the house. Cara and Thomas continue to flirt, even though they BOTH have people back at home. KellyAnne and Dario spend some time making out, and Aneesa and Cory have a little hook up too. While Aneesa has become really smitten with this boy, apparently, Cory has a girl he's been hanging out with at home! Cory states upfront to the guys that he's not stressing about her, pissing Aneesa off after she overhears him. She goes off on him, telling him that he's not safe not only in this game, but in real life. Jerk. What can you expect in this game, though? Very rarely do couples in these challenges make it for long. At least Aneesa saw the truth before she got too involved.

At the fourth challenge, T.J. announces that Tony and Shane have been disqualified due to Tony's injury. In the Aftershow, we find out that Tony actually had a ruptured spleen and had to have emergency surgery that same night! In another twist, T.J. brings in Abram and his brother Mike to compete! This makes things kind of awkward since he's dating Cara, and Cara's been flirting with Thomas! Of course, Thomas is a little scared, because, if you've ever watched this man, Abram is bonafide crazy. The folks at MTV knew exactly what they were doing with this decision. Abram is on the Red Team with Cara, while Mike is with the Blue Team.

T.J. announces his favorite challenge (and mine!), which is trivia, entitled Heir to the Throne. The cast pairs up, with one person answering questions and the other sitting in an inner tube hoisted over water. If the person answering gets two questions wrong, T.J. is blowing up the inner tube to send their partner into the water! After a bunch of ridiculous answers, the Red Team wins yet again! Both teams have to nominate a guy from the Blue Team, but, of course, if that guy goes home, their bloodline goes home too. At the end, we see the rookies trying to break up the remaining veteran alliance. Johnny Bananas is a little nervous, and understandably so, because the vets are dwindling because of this new game format!

We have yet another music video from singer Timothy J. Wilson! This visual is for the singer's track, "Oh My Goodness," which is the second single from his BEATS, BASS, PARTY EP (released in November).

The music video features Timothy in a stylish suit, singing and playing guitar to the woman he loves! Of course, the track itself is infused with funk,  as several of his other tracks are. Absolutely love this guy's music and style!

Check out the music video below!

You can check out more from this talented singer on his official website as well as SoundCloud and YouTube. You can also connect with on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

New music to start the week! Check out this new single from singer Karlson entitled, "Moving On!"

On the track, Karlson sings of having to let go of a person in his life, a situation that many of us have gone through personally. Karma raises its ugly head, and now that person is crashing and burning, as Karlson is steadily rising! Written and produced by the artist himself, the track will be featured on the artist's upcoming mixtape coming soon!

Check out the track below!

You can check out more from Karlson on SoundCloud and YouTube. You can also connect with the artist on Twitter!

Looks like Hova's house, Roc Nation has another artist looking to branch out because of differences. After Maybach Music Group rapper, Wale left their Management department last year, their British star Rita Ora has "filed a lawsuit that addresses the current state of Roc Nation and tests California's famous "seven-year rule" on personal service contracts" according to The Hollywood Reporter.

After becoming more known for its athletes that are signed to the label more than its artists, Rita says she has felt like an orphan and doesn't feel the involvement in her career like she felt when first signed at the age of 18 in 2008. Her attorney, Howard King said, "Rita's relationship with Roc Nation is irrevocably damaged."

Let's hope whatever comes of this issue that it ends soon because we need some new Rita Ora music!

Things are already really intense on The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines and it's only the third episode! Last week was a turning point, as T.J. announced that the bloodlines would now be going AGAINST each other. The cast is in shock as he announces that they will split up into two teams, the Red Team and the Blue Team. Cara Maria and Jamie (as the winners of the last challenge) pick the two teams. Cara has to choose a veteran (someone that was on a show) and the bloodline will automatically go to the other team, then Jamie will do the same until everyone has been chosen. Both teams will have a mix of vets and family members. After everyone is placed on their teams, it looks like the Red Team is filled with a good deal of the weaker players. T.J. reminds them as well that each player's fate is still tied to their bloodlines, though! It's so crazy how this game is unfolding!

At the next day's challenge, T.J. tells them they'll be playing "Meet Me Halfway." There are two platforms suspended 30 feet over water separated by a narrow, unstable bridge that will swing from side to side based on the wind and momentum from the players' jumps.. Each team will have to use that bridge to jump from to the next platform to platform to transfer 30 flags to the other side. The team who transfers the 30 flags in the least amount of time wins, and, of course, anyone who falls is disqualified.

Surprisingly, even with some proven weaker players, the Red Team does pretty well, snagging 27 out of the 30 flags! In fact, Candice  even smacks her face hard on one go-round, blood dripping from her face and everything, but she keeps going! Even Bananas was impressed! The team's not so weak after all. The Blue Team starts out strong, but the momentum gets lost on that middle platform, making it hard for several people to cross! The Red Team wins when four of the Blue Team people DQ since the Red team had 27 flags. This proves to be a rough, physical challenge though, as Candice has to get stitches for her face, and Tony has to go to the hospital because of his back.

After the challenge, T.J. announces that each team will have to deliberate and vote in a girl from the losing team to go to The Pit since it's a girls' elimination day. However, if that girl goes home, so does their bloodline! The girls on the Red Team aren't even completely safe, even though they won! These twists and turns are going to make for an UGLY game.

Back at the house, the majority of the Blue Team announce that they plan to vote in Larissa. When Camila catches wind of it, she GOES OFF! The girl even goes around campaigning for her sister, trying to save Larissa from The Pit (and ultimately, herself from potentially being eliminated). The Blue Team is trying to get rid of Larissa, a weaker player, but mostly want to eliminate Camila, who's one of the strongest players in the game period. Camila sees through it, and is pissed!

At deliberation, by majority vote, the Blue Team votes in Larissa, and the Red Team votes in Jenna. These deliberations are so twisted because if you vote in one person, there's a potential to send them AND their bloodline home. It's making for a lot of drama and emotions really early in the game! Camila is, of course, upset because people used Larissa to get to her. She refuses to stand by those who turned on her this time around.

At the end of the episode, we see Tony is released from the hospital the next day, and is doing good for a while. However, he starts feeling some cramps in his stomach and looks deathly ill later in the day. Production even steps in and tells him that he should go back to the hospital, but he declines medical attention to keep competing. As the cast walks to down to the The Pit, Tony passes out! CLIFFHANGER!

Last night was the season 3 finale of Being Mary Jane, and I can't believe it's already over! Picking up from last week, Mary Jane wakes up in bed with Gorgeous Guy (apparently that's the white boy's official nickname, though we STILL do not know his actual name). They talk about potential dates when the doorball rings, and it's David's mother Simone at the door! Though MJ ignores her knocks at first, Simone is persistent and MJ eventually lets her in. Simone, of course, is here to try to convince Mary Jane to go back to David, which MJ is NOT here for! She asks if Simone forgive her son if she was in Mary Jane's shoes? Probably not. Mary Jane firmly tells Simone that it's over between MJ and David, and that Simone needs to let go. I was proud of MJ in that moment, because she could have very easily slipped back into her old ways, pining after this man. Glad to see she's moved on!

Later, Mary Jane goes to Cece's bookstore to talk about injustices in the black community. Afterwards, she reveals to Cece that she has been offered a publishing deal for a memoir that targets the black demographic. She wants to mention how the two of them met through Cece's extortion, and the hardships that led them both to that moment. Cece, really needing money for her bookstore, agrees to it happily.

That night, at the club, Mary Jane and Gorgeous Guy participate in a fun karaoke session. However, Mary Jane notices a black couple is looking at them funny, seemingly because they are an interracial couple. The next day, social media is buzzing about Mary Jane's date! On hit talk show The Real the next day, the ladies talk about Mary Jane dating a white guy. Of course, many black women feel like MJ is a hypocrite for being in an interracial relationship, especially after her "Ugly Black Woman" segment. The ladies have a short discussion about interracial dating, and people passing judgement, especially with one of the hosts, Tamera Mowry-Housley, being not only in an interracial relationship, but also the product of an interracial relationship. It was nice to see how BET added in their show!

Back at SNC, Greg, of course, wants to capitalize on all of the attention Mary Jane is getting, and suggests she relaunches talkBACK by discussing interracial relationships for talkBACK! Mary Jane doesn't want to start the show off by speaking on her personal life, but she owes Greg a few favors for even getting the show back in the first place. MJ reluctantly agrees to go through with it. When she tells her young team about the topic, Nina states adamantly that she didn't sign up to do the fluff pieces. However, Mary Jane tells her that sometimes you have to go along to get along. "This is life. Deal with it," she says. This is true. However, I do hope that Mary Jane doesn't revert to her Primetime stories with talkBACK. Give Greg and the higher ups what they want every now and then, but really use this show to focus on stories that make a difference!

At the Pattersons, Niecy plays with Trayvion, and quietly asks PJ if he's talked to Patrick, and he says no. As Paul walks into the room, PJ states that he and Niecy are going to go car shopping to get Niecy a new ride.  Paul says that he's proud of PJ, feeling like Niecy deserves to have a man stand up for her, since Paul thinks Patrick doesn't. I know Paul is upset at Patrick for using these pills, but that was a low blow.

Meanwhile, back at SNC, Kara and Marison have a short, tense encounter in the lunch room, Kara tries to spark a conversation, but Marisol quickly storms out because of their last confrontation where Kara basically stated Marisol is sleeping her way to the top. Greg later asks Kara to meet in private, where he confronts her about her accusing Marisol of having an affair with him! Marisol plans to file a complaint to HR against Kara, and Kara could get fired! He tells her to go down to HR, clear his name, and fix this ASAP! Mary Jane suggests talking to Marisol, but Kara is so caught up with how she dealt with these kinds of situations herself instead of running to a boss or HR. When Mary Jane asks what Marisol has on her exactly, Kara admits what she's said about Marisol and Greg. She feels like maybe she should've been a tease and gotten ahead a lot faster. She's going to hate it, but Kara has to try to talk to Marisol and fix this, for the sake of her job!

On talkBack, Mary Jane does talk about interracial dating, asking have attitudes truly changed? That night, while having dinner with Gorgeous Guy, she states calmly that she can't date him anymore. She admits that she does care about the judgement that others pass on her for dating a white man. She already have struggles that she didn't ask for as a woman of color, so she doesn't want to bring on another struggle by being with him. Mary Jane wants black love, which is all well and good. To each his own. However, I find it interesting that she did this whole segment on the matter, seeming to try to convince others against prejudice, and then breaks up with him because she herself can't deal with it. Then again, Mary Jane is just playing the field right now, so this probably wasn't going to last too long anyway.

The next day, Kara tries to play nice with Marisol, complimenting her on her shoes. She casually brings up their issue and apologizes cooly, wanting Marisol to drop the complaint. Marisol sees right through it, and tells Kara to offer her the anchor spot on the  new show Kara's producing. Kara laughs, seeing how Marisol is trying to play this situation to her advantage, and walks away.

That night, Kara and Mary Jane go to get some barbecue, and MJ sees David with his fiancee and daughter. They make eye contact, but Mary Jane calmly turns around and goes on about her business. Kara asks if she's okay, and Mary Jane truly is. She's been thinking a lot about Lisa, and admits she still has a lot of guilt. MJ's also been thinking about her car accident, considering it a blessing. Getting blackmailed by Cece oddly reminded her of why she got into journalism in the first place. She's in a much better place than she was last season. She's dating for fun, she has TWO shows, and just seems to be happier. Mary Jane tells Kara that maybe Marisol is Kara's own "car accident," or blessing in disguise, Maybe this is the universe's way of pushing Kara to do what she is meant to do.

Later, we see Marisol as the anchor on Kara's new show, showing us that Kara went along with Marisol's deal to try to get this complaint resolved. However, Kara later gets a visit from a woman in HR, stating that Marisol has filed a harassment complaint against Kara anyway, and HR will be investigating! In the meantime, Kara is not to have any contact with Marisol, which will be hard since Kara is the producer on the show Marisol's heading up! So it looks like Kara will probably lose that position. Marisol played her VERY WELL. I feel bad and mad too, because Kara's job shouldn't be in jeopardy. However, you have to be careful about what you say in the workplace, especially in today's age.

Meanwhile, Mary Jane and Cece go to the publisher to sell their book idea at the publishing company. Cece loves the attention, and spills everything about how she blackmailed Mary Jane, but that it ultimately allowed them to bond. The associates at the publishing company soak it all up, seeing how this could be sold as a bizarre memoir of friendship. However, it turns out that this was really Mary Jane setting her up to be arrested! Two cops were posing as employees, recorded EVERYTHING Cece said, and quickly arrest her! Of course, Cece is pissed off, but MJ is sick of people taking it too far with her, and using her. BOOM! I really did like Cece's role on the show, but I get why Mary Jane did it. If I was being extorted for thousands of dollars, I'd try to plan something like that too.

At the end of the episode, Mary Jane stands in front of the mirror and reflects on her life over the past three seasons, from dealing with her family and relationships, to work and her car accident, and even her fight with Lisa and Lisa's eventual suicide. It's been a rough road for MJ, but again, she's in a much better place now, and I'm happy to see it.

The episode ends with Niecy getting pulled over in her new car, with her babies in tow. Pulled over for "loud music" and not having license plates, Niecy gets confrontational with the cop and is eventually dragged out of the car, She keeps arguing with the cop, and he tases and arrests WHILE HER SON IS WATCHING! Of course, in this social media age, someone records the entire thing. Nina watches it back at SNC, and shows Mary Jane, not knowing that's MJ's niece. Mary Jane freezes as she watches Niecy being tackled to the ground, in the same manner that we've seen several cops aggressively take down people in the past few years.

Now, I have to be honest about this. I do not condone the cop's actions completely. With the babies in the car, he probably should have taken another approach to this. HOWEVER, people are natural reactors. We react to how people approach us, and Niecy approached him rudely which set him off. I believe in knowing and asserting your rights, but there's a way to go about it. In fact, BET wrote a piece on what people should do if they get pulled over. To me, I feel like the main piece is remaining calm even when you know you didn't do anything. Niecy was aggressive from the jump, which caused him to be aggressive as well. I'm sure that this will be a debate online for a few days. I'm not sure what the end result will be for Niecy, but that was definitely an interesting way to end the season!

What did you think of the Being Mary Jane season 3 finale?

The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines was really crazy last night! Picking up from last week, 13 teams remain.! The cast parties during the day on the beach, and it looks like a lot of fun! Bananas has a GoPro camera on the bus, and records Cara Maria and Thomas getting kind of close! Cara apparently is still seeing Abram (who appeared on Road Rules: South Pacific and a number of these challenges). They even live together in Montana, so I can only imagine what he'll have to say about Cara cozying up to another cast member! That night, T.J. sends a clue to the house for the next challenge: "Things are going to get a bit CREEPY tomorrow. Be ready to leave in the morning."

Creepy indeed! At the next day's challenge, T.J. announces that the teams will be playing "Family Dinner." One person on each team will have to eat live bugs, and then spit the dead bugs through a tube into a glass! Meanwhile, the other team member will have their head in a glass box with a "terrifying surprise," T.J. says. The team that has the most amount of bugs at the end of 10 minutes wins, and the team with the fewest will be heading straight to The Pit. T.J. also reveals that they don't even to chose who will doing what. He holds a bag with both a red rock and blue rock in it. If you choose a red rock, you'll be eating those bugs!

Turns out that the people in the glass boxes are cuddling up with snakes right by their heads! However, after seeing how calm the snakes were, I would've preferred that to eating these live grasshoppers, cockroaches, and whatever else was flying around in there! This was disgusting to see! Some of the teams decide to smash the bugs with their heads to stun or kill them, but it's just gross whichever way you kill them. Nany especially freaks out, getting quite a few bugs in her hair (I don't why she didn't think to tie it up!). Brianna also struggles, and doesn't end up eating any of them, while Jenna watches, irritated. Not that Jenna can be mad, seeing as though she made it ALL the way to the finals in Battle of the Exes II, and had to quit because she wouldn't eat the gross stuff in one of their checkpoints.

Cara Maria and Jamie end up winning the challenge, and, of course, Jenna and Brianna end up being . However, T.J. reveals that it's a guys' elimination day, so they're safe! The last place team with a guy on it, was Cohutta and Jill, so they will have to face elimination. Cara Marie and Jamie will have to pick the other team to face Cohutta in The Pit.

Later, Cara Maria decides to let Cohutta pick the team he wants, since they're good friends. Cohutta picks Dario and Raphy, and Cara Maria tells them, trying to be honest. Dario and Raphy get mad, of course, with Dario planning to win and come for Cara Maria as the game continues. However, later, Cohutta changes his mind, picking Thomas and Stephen, and now Cara's confused on what to do, especially since she and Stephen have been getting kind of close. At deliberation though, Cara chooses Thomas and Stephen. It's a shock to them, and Cara feels terrible, but, at the end of the day, it's a game. Thomas even comes to her, and says that he understands so they're cool.

That night, they all go to party, but Brianna doesn't even want to be there. Anessa talks to Jenna, and Jenna is going crazy dealing with Brianna being stuck up and homesick. When they all get home, Brianna starts crying, stating that she wants to go home to be with her real family. Jenna goes off on her, stating in the confessional that if Brianna goes home, Jenna will never speak to her again. Jenna and Brianna argue back and forth, throwing low blows at each other about their personal lives. The next morning, however, Brianna apologizes, and plans to try to stick it out for Jenna.

In The Pit the next night, T.J. brings in Cohutta & Jill and Thomas & Stephen. Stephen decides to go against Cohutta in "Squaring Off." The goal is to go inside these hallways, find and grab a ball, and get through to the other side. The best two out of three wins. There will definitely be contact, which is hard for Cohutta since he's so small. However, Cohutta doesn't go out without a fight. He wrestles with Stephen and gives him trouble, but Stephen was still able to make it towards his goal line twice. Thomas and Stephen wins, sending Cohutta and Jill home.

After Cohutta and Jill leave, T.J. announces yet another twist in the game, stating that he wants to see how the teams would do if they're pitted against each other. The teams will switch up next week, and the family members will now have to play against each other! WHAT?! There is way too much happening too early in the game!

After the unpredicatable success of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film last year, Nickelodeon is back with the sequel! Just released yesterday, the trailer to the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows movie gives us a peek into what the turtles are up against this time!

From the details that have been released so far, Stephen Amell, best known for playing Green Arrow on The CW's Arrow will join as the hockey mask-wearing Casey Jones, Tyler Perry also joins to play mad scientist Baxter Stockman and Megan Fox returns to play April O'Neil. We also see that the turtles will have to go up against Rocksteady and Bebop, who die-hard fans will remember were humans that were mutated into a giant pig and rhino and known for being the dumb lackeys under Shredder.

I'm definitely looking forward to this and hope you guys are also! Check out the trailer below!

Can't believe this is the second to last episode of Being Mary Jane for the season! Picking up from last week, right after Patrick storms out, Paul tells Mary Jane that all of this is necessary, even if they did ambush him. I get why everyone is upset, though. Even though this is a lighter drug, it's still a drug, and for Patrick to relapse into his old ways would be terrible. MJ brings D'Asia to her house that night, and, of course, D'Asia asks about her dad. MJ tells her that Patrick had to work, and D'Asia is happy just spending time over at her aunt's house. D'Asia asks MJ upfront, however, if her dad is back on drugs, but MJ plays it off, saying again that he is just working late.

The next morning, Patrick sits outside of D'Asia's school, waiting to see her. D'Asia's teacher spots him, and they talk a bit, with Patrick explaining that he brought lunch for D'Asia. He gets a little emotional of everything going on, and gives the teacher D'Asia's lunch. When he pulls off, the teacher finds a sweet note to D'Asia from him. However, she senses that something is off when she sees D'Asia come in with Mary Jane and another lunch box in hand.

Later, at work, Mary Jane vents to Kara about Patrick and her parents, and Kara feels like MJ's parents are using her as their guard dog. She tells Mary Jane that this isn't her fight, believing MJ needs to be a little selfish right now and focus on the good in her life. Later, MJ calls Paul explaining that she can't pick D'Asia up (with her work, she wouldn't always be able to anyway). She tries to get Paul to back down on this, Paul refuses to send D'Asia back to Patrick. In fact, when PJ comes back home to try to help with D'Asia, Paul tells his son upfront that there is only one side in all of this--his.

Later, Marisol tries to get a spot on the talkBack team, even as a producer. However, MJ spent all of her budget already, and wouldn't be able to take Marisol on. In fact, Mary Jane's team is small and young. She invites Nina, one of the students who called her out at Clark Atlanta, as a news consultant. Khalil, also a student, is working as an intern at SNC and hops on board, though he is upset to have to be getting Nina coffee as an intern. After being kicked out of the main conference room, and moving to the lunch room to try to meet, the team ends up going to Mary Jane's house to brainstorm. These young aspiring journalists have a heavy debate on government assistance to minorities, and plan to pitch Greg a show on welfare. Cece comes by, asking for Mary Jane to make an appearance to the bookstore to encourage sales and black people to read. Mary Jane hesitantly agrees. Cece looks at the team's work and asks about the format of the show, which she calls predictable. Most of the topics they've chosen have divides from gender and race to even generational. Cece then comes up with great ideas, but all MJ can remember is Cece blackmailing her in a voiceover.

After school, Patrick tries to get D'Asia from Paul but fails. Her teacher comes over concerned, stating that school is not the place to go through all this. Patrick gets emotional and calls out of work. The teacher kindly volunteers to give him a ride home and he admits that he is a drug addict. Recently, he started taking something to keep up with work, and his family called him out on it, and took D'Asia. She tells Patrick that he needs to reflect and have a conversation with himself about what he needs to do to be better going forward. However, Patrick decides to go to the Pattersons and takes D'Asia anyway.

That night Paul and Helen talk privately in their room. Helen wants Patrick to move back in to keep an eye on him, an idea that Paul doesn't like. He gets upset, because he feels like they have blown most of their money on these adults, and haven't spent time making enough memories, just the two of them. However, Helen comforts Paul, telling him that he's always done the right thing. All the while, Niecy and PJ eavesdrop on their conversation. Honestly, Paul and Helen are enablers. They always came in to save their kids instead of giving them tough love.

On Primetime, Mary Jane announces the official relaunch of talkBack. After work, she calls Kara, planning to talk to her parents. Kara states that MJ needs to see who else is capable of showing up in these family situations, because most times, it's Mary Jane. Back at her house, Kara runs into John, who's attempting to write an essay for possible publication. After he tells her that the main breaker in the house tripped again, Kara goes into a rant about her work ethic that she got from her mom. She wants the best, and doesn't understand, as a white man in America, how his ambition could be so low, and how he lets her take care of everything? He could be whatever he wanted, and not struggling to make it as a writer. However, John states that, if he wasn't there, Kara wouldn't be able to work endlessly and come and go as she pleases. Kara wishes him luck with that essay, since they need it to be able to help keep the lights on for their kids.

Later, PJ talks to Niecy about her needing to handle herself and her kids on her own. She has a job, sure, and yes, I applaud her for doing something, but it's only part-time. It's BEEN time for her to grow up. Niecy feels like she's trying, but also thinks that, no matter what she does, her life is never going anywhere. PJ tells her honestly that people will be there to help her, but they're not going to rescue her.  He mentions that she needs to ask for more help from her babies' fathers. PJ will help cover daycare and preschool for the kids, and help her establish her credit. Niecy can also get her cosmetology license so she can do hair! This girl really doesn't realize how successful she could be by getting into the hair game, especially with her mother doing hair as well. Niecy has to WANT to be successful, and go after something wholeheartedly instead of depending on other people.

At the end of the episode, MJ texts Patrick stating that she loves him and will always be there for him. He's still angry, though, and ignores the text. The next morning, Cece is outside of MJ's door, and congratulates her on the return of talkBack. Cece again asks for contributions, since these are her ideas. It was even Cece's idea for Mary Jane to go after both shows. "A woman's gotta eat, after all," Cece explains. Of course this woman still wants to blackmail and get money of MJ! Her bookstore is struggling because, let's be honest, not too many people actually read too much these days at all, let alone physical copies of books (shout out to my fellow bookworms who still believe in actual books. Screw a tablet). Cece is an opportunist, and will continue to try to play Mary Jane, which is unfortunate, because I actually think they could be decent friends if she wasn't.

Be sure to check out the SEASON FINALE of Being Mary Jane at 10 p.m. ET next Tuesday only on BET!
