After several months of appearing on The View as a "guest co-host", Raven-Symo has been moved up to a permanent co-host position on the long-running daytime talk show.

The show's moderator Whoopi Goldberg made the announcement earlier on today's episode. It was a cause for celebration filled with confetti, hugs, and all around excitement from her fellow hosts and the audience.

Raven will be filling in Rosie O'Donnell's spot, who left the show 4 months ago to focus on family.

In a statement made to the show's host network, ABC, Raven said:

"The Disney Company has made another one of my dreams come true! Being a part of The View family will be a wonderful growing experience for me. The cast and crew are warm and welcoming and have made the transition into daytime talk easier. I have a lot to learn within this new arena, but being the apprentice of these spectacular women will only make me a better person and talk show host."

The show's former moderator, Barbara Walters, who is the creator and executive producer of the show added:

"Raven-Symone is a welcome addition to The View. She is happy, amusing and well-informed, and has already brought a unique perspective to the program that has resonated with our audience."

The former child star, who's well known as Olivia from The Cosby Show and the psychic teen on Disney Channel's popular show That's So Raven, has been making new rounds on TV screens this year, with guest roles on the highly popular shows Empire and Black-ish.

Now she'll be joining Whoopi, Rosie Perez, and Nicolle Wallace at the popular View table full time.

Barbara Walters is officially stepping down. After more than 50 years in the business, the legendary journalist confirmed that she will retire in summer 2014.

"I am very happy with my decision and look forward to a wonderful and special year ahead both on The View and with ABC News," she told ABC News. "I created The View and am delighted it will last beyond my leaving it." (The morning talk show recently announced the departure of Joy Behar, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck is also expected to leave.)

Until next year, Barbara will continue to anchor and report for ABC News, appear on The View and host several specials, including 20 Years of 10 Most Fascinating People in December.

She plans to announce her retirement on The View Monday. "I do not want to appear on another program or climb another mountain," she said of her retirement. "I want instead to sit on a sunny field and admire the very gifted women —- and OK, some men too — who will be taking my place."

Barbara Walters is a LEGEND in journalism, and at 83 years old, she still looks good and is always working hard. She deserves her rest now! It will be weird not seeing her in different specials anymore, but congrats to her for moving on to the next phase of her life!

The View's circle will possibly be broken. Reports are looming that Joy Behar might be leaving the popular daytime talk show. Her contract is up, and she wants to move on to possibly host her own interview show, according to Deadline.com. Joy is the second-to-last cast original cast member to remain on the show since it first aired 16½ years ago. Should she leave, Barbara Walters will be the only one remaining.

Her other project is her current TV show, Joy Behar: Say Anything! that debuted in 2012.

I don’t watch The View regularly but when I do, I LOVE Joy. She and Whoopi Goldberg together make the ultimate tag team to me. I feel like if she does end up leaving, her presence will be greatly, greatly missed. But onwards and upwards I guess…she’s 70 and still working hard and wants to get into other ventures. No one can fault her for that.
