In response to the Sandra Bland tragedy as well as the #BlackLivesMatter movement, Toronto producer and singer Yuri Koller has released his track "Who You Gonna Call Now."

On the ballad, Yuri admits that these brutal police killing upon black people specifically are seeming to become a common occurrence, which is sickening. What do we do to stop this? "It’s not black or white...it seems like there’s more than 50 shades of grey," Yuri sings. "Tryna make it through the night...aren’t the red and blue supposed to save the day?"

In honor of Veterans Day tomorrow, rock and soul artist Cody ChesnuTT has joined forces with Gary Clark, Jr. for "Gunpowder on the Letter." The song pays respects to American veterans and troops for their courage in their service. When asked about his inspiration behind "Gunpowder on the Letter," Cody stated, "This song was inspired by a documentary I saw on veterans that had been traumatized by the act of war. The broken spirit and disillusionment expressed by these veterans, granted me access to both the spirit and voice needed to communicate the narrative."

Keep Up With Cody ChesnuTT & Gary Clark Jr.!

A salute to all of our veterans and current troops! We thank you and honor you for your continued service.
"Who's to say that we can't change, and give one love, one love to everyone?" -Elle Varner, "One Love"

Elle Varner has released a new song, paying tribute to slain teen Michael Brown, whose tragic and unnecessary death by the hands of a cop in Ferguson, MO, has sparked controversy, outrage, and protests all over the nation. Elle said of the tragedy:

“Over the past few tumultuous days I have prayed long and hard for Mike Brown’s family, the people of Ferguson, and the families of many others we have lost due this horrific death pattern. With persistence, strategy, and intellect, we can not only obtain justice for Mike Brown but we can effectuate changes that will prevent these things from happening again!”

Elle's distinctive, soulful vocals and insightful lyrics really shine through on this song! I love when people use their gifts to express themselves in a positive way in a time like this. The song highlights issues that go on all the time. I hope you all take a second to really listen!
