Today would have been Amy Winehouse's 28th birthday. To honor her, her last song and video, a duet with legend Tony Bennett, was released. A preview of the song was shown at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. It was a really nice ballad for the duo. It was definitely bittersweet to watch Amy, hearing her sing. It's a really sad circumstance, especially because she was so talented.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch Winehouse, has come out with the truth of what was behind Amy's death. While taping Anderson Cooper's new show, Anderson, Mr. Winehouse said that traces of the prescription drug Librium, which is used to fight anxiety and symptoms of alcoholism, were found in her body after Amy passed away on July 23. Amy suffered a seizure from alcohol detoxification. Toxicology reports showed there was also some alcohol in her bloodstream, but it is unclear how that contributed to her death.

Mr. Winehouse also said that he regretted that his daughter was trying to get over her addiction without the help of a doctor. She really was trying to change her life around, but she definitely needed help to do it.

Gone too soon....RIP Amy.

Sad news to report. According to The Guardian, Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London flat. Her death is unexplained as of yet.

The Metropolitan police said: "Police were called by London ambulance service to an address in Camden Square shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased. On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene."

Amy was last seen with her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield earlier last week when the teenager performed at the iTunes festival.

Such sad news. I was just skyping my friend Ben in Australia when he told me the news. Absolutely crazy. I always talked about how talented Amy was, but that she just needed to get her life together. And now she's gone. It's a very sad situation. Prayers to her family and friends...rest in peace Amy.

According to People, Amy Winehouse's current European tour has been canceled! The tour was to have 12 stops before ending on August 15 in Bucharest, Romania.

This past Saturday, Amy tried to perform in Belgrade, showing up an hour late, then stumbling around and slurring the words to her 2008 song "Just Friends." She even greeted the crowd of 20,000 by shouting, "Hello, Athens," (???!) according to the U.K.'s Telegraph newspaper. Following the incident, Amy apologized to fans and canceled Monday's scheduled performance in Istanbul and Wednesday's in Athens.

Now the entire tour has been canceled. No word if Amy will be heading back to rehab for her problem with alcohol. She has just finished a stint late last month.

I don't deny this woman's talent at all, but she has problems. She commits to change, this is going to be a consistent problem. There is nothing more that pisses me off than when an artist with talent starts blowing it for no good reason. I'm honestly hoping that she goes into rehab now for as long as it takes for her to stop. Alcoholism is a serious problem, and she needs help with it. If that means she needs to take off of music for a while, so be it. That's what I would be telling her if I was on her team. Because what purpose does it do for her to have tours and appearances if she's drunk? And more important than the career, this is her LIFE. I don't know if somebody told her that or not, but she definitely doesn't need to be saying no to rehab.

LOL well I guess I had to take my little mini bashing of Amy Winehouse post down in her assault case. The girl was innocent. Who knew?! LOL definitely not me...

Amy was acquitted of assaulting a fan who asked for a picture today, according to Us Magazine.

District Judge Timothy Workman found the 25-year-old not guilty of punching dancer Sherene Flash, 27, in the eye after the fan asked for a picture after a London charity ball in September.

Although prosecutors claimed it was a deliberate assault, Winehouse -- who had pleaded not guilty -- said she had felt intimidated by the drunk Flash and stated she was too short to have hit the girl in the face.

A spokesman read a statement from Amy -- who was granted a divorce from her husband of two years, Blake Fielder-Civil, earlier this month --that said she was "very happy to move on with her life and put the episode behind her."

Well, she was claimed innocent, and I have to apologize for claiming the assault was ridiculous and unneccessary, SINCE THERE WAS NO ASSAULT!! LOL! But I do stick to this: Amy Winehouse is a wonderful singer, very talented, and she needs to use her talents before she loses the opportunity. That means showing up to the studio when needed, and performing your heart out for your fans. Not everyone who has talent gets the opportunity to do something with it, and you do Amy. Use it. Hopefully, this is a new start for you. Hey, you divorced Blake, got cleared of these charges. Time for a fresh start!
