The Baltimore Ravens are officially World Champs! After a rocky second half and the lights going out at the Superdome in New Orleans halfway through the game, the team clinched victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII, 34-31!

After a beautiful cover of  "America The Beautiful" by Jennifer Hudson with the Sandy Hook Elementary Chorus, as well as the National Anthem sung by Alicia Keys, the game was underway! The Ravens led early in the first half of the game by 28-6, with many thinking that the game would be a landslide. However, after an electrifying performance by Beyoncé at the Halftime Show, the lights went out on one side of the Dome, halting play for half an hour (yeah my girl shut it DOWN!) .  After the lights were restored, San Francisco quickly made a comeback, making for one of the craziest second halves ever seen at the Super Bowl! However, Baltimore was able to hold them off, winning the game in the last minutes of the game!

The game marked the end of Ravens vet Ray Lewis' career, allowing him to go out on top with another Superbowl ring (he won his first at Super Bowl XXXV with a win over the New York Giants)! The victory gave Ravens head coach John Harbaugh a victory over his younger brother Jim in the first Super Bowl featuring brothers as opposing coaches.

I've fallen off of football, and I really only watched the game to see Bey at halftime and the ads (which were pretty lackluster if you ask me!). However, I went to school in Baltimore, so I wanted the Ravens to win for the city. I know that it was mad crazy last night! Congrats to the Ravens!

Oh, I know that you all have read about The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour by now!  It hits DC on July 29th and I'm DETERMINED to be there to finally see Beyoncé LIVE!!!! Just had to throw that in there.

Morning yall. Hope everything's good. Starting off the day with some new music Alicia Keys dropped yesterday. "Speechless" with Miss E.V.E. A declaration of love to Swizzy or to new baby Egpyt. I love it. Real mellow jam...got me in a loving mood so I start the blog out with this simple song today :-)

"I used to know all the words to say. I used to write all the poetry. But now, you take my breath away."

PEACE.

I'm back. Hiatus, I know. But I'm here! Happy Monday :)

Kim Kardashian is dead, says her new ad.

According to OMG! Yahoo, Kim's new ad is to raise awareness for World AIDS Day which is Wednesday Dec. 1. "Kim Kardashian Is Dead," the ad reads, explaining that she has sacrificed her digital life "to give real life to millions of others affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. Visit BuyLife.org or text ‘KIM’ to ‘90999’ to buy her life now."

Other stars like Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake are participating in the Digital Life Sacrifice event, in which they are quitting Twitter and Facebook until $1 million is raised for those in Africa suffering from this disease.

The event is organized by Alicia Keys. I think it's a great and creative idea to raise money for a great cause. Kudos Miss Keys and everybody else participating. Go to BuyLife.org now to donate to those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa.

PEACE.

Morning guys...happy Monday! Hope everything is well with you all...

Ok, so I'm a bit late. Yall know I sleep on the weekend LOL but I would like to congratulate Miss Alicia Keys and Swizzy on their marriage Saturday! They married in a private home on the Mediterranean Sea. Celebs in the audience included Bono and Queen Latifah.

According to People, Alicia wore a Grecian-inspired Vera Wang dress and carried a bouquet of purple calla lilies. Swizz wore a Tom Ford tuxedo. The couple's friend Dr. Deepak Chopra presided over the nuptials.

Congratulations guys! Dag...this weekend was the weekend for weddings huh?

PEACE.

I normally don't do late posts like this, but I saw this news and had to write a short piece on this one. To the title of the post, WELL DUH!!!!!!!!! I've been seeing the pictures for weeks now with Alicia Keys and her obvious baby bump! I know you guys have as well. According to UsMagazine.com, Miss Alicia has finally come out and confirmed that she and her FIANCE producer Swizz Beatz are expecting their first child. The wedding will take place sometime this year! Sorry Mashonda lol

Well it's good to have some confirmation on their side. Congratulations to them! I truly wish them the best. And I hope this whole mess between Alicia, Swizzy, and Mashonda gets worked out, FOR THE SAKE OF THE KIDS YALL! COME ON!

PEACE.

So I'm a huge fan of the song "Unthinkable" off of Alicia Keys' newest album The Element of Freedom. In fact, it's probably one of my favorites off of the album, falling second to "That's How Strong My Love Is." The video for the song premiered this morning, and I had to put it up and give my two cents. It takes the audience through different decades and highlights Alicia and Chad Michael Murrary, who are in an interracial relationship. They get flack from their friends and family because it is somewhat unacceptable in families, even today, to date outside of your own race. I connect the concept of the video to the song like this: Despite what everyone around them are saying, Alicia sings "If you ask me, I'm ready." She's ready to do the unthinkable, to take this journey with Chad, because she loves him and it doesn't matter what anyone else says. Great concept Alicia. Watch the video below.

Hola everyone! I'm back after a very relaxing Thanksgiving break! Hope everyone had an excellent Thankgiving!

It's been reported by OMG! Yahoo (by way of the Associated Press)that Miss Alicia Keys will be taking 5 people on a trip to Africa!

Alicia says her first visit to Africa was so emotional and inspiring that she wants to take people down there to experience it for themselves. Through her charity, Keep a Child Alive, which helps provide medication for those infected with AIDS, she is launching a contest that will give 5 people an opportunity to visit the continent with her.

"I was able to see the great separation between have and have not," Alicia said regarding her own experience. "I was able to see the incredible spirit of people. I was able to learn firsthand about the AIDS pandemic of Africa."

Alicia will officially announce the contest today, which is World AIDS Day, when she performs at the Nokia Theatre in New York's Time Square. The concert will air live on YouTube tonight(8 p.m. EST).

Fans will be able to enter the contest online at the foundation's Web site, or by sending a text. The fee for the text is $5, but it will be donated to Keep a Child Alive. Alicia said the winners, who will travel throughout Africa for five days sometime next year, will visit the people and places that were most influential to her.

Wow...that trip that would be amazing! I love to travel and I have always wanted to go to Africa! I think that it would be a very mind-blowing experience and chance for me to learn more about the continent besides from what I have read in books. It's great that Alicia is doing this contest, not only to give people the opportunity to go to Africa, but also to open the doors for them to be educated about the real issues there.

Visit Alicia's charity's website, Keep A Child Alive!

According to OMG Yahoo!, singer Alicia Keys has launched her own jewelry line, each piece inscribed with uplifting messages.

Alicia teamed up with Canadian designer Gisele Theriault this jewelry collection called "The Barber's Daughters." It features silver and gemstone pieces with quotes and poetry from well known figures such as Gandhi, Buddha and Shakespeare.

Alicia felt like the transition from music to inspirational jewelry was quite natural. "I realized that this was another way to reach out to people and to really bring them inspiration in some way. If people tell me how much they love my music because it's gotten them though a certain time in their life, I felt like this was an extension of music." she said.

The jewelry line is being sold through Collette Blanchard Gallery in a temporary "pop-up" shop on Manhattan's lower east side. The pieces range from necklaces and earrings, to watches, cuffs and bracelets and are priced from $85 to $2,500. Yeah, kinda pricy but check out some sample pics below and tell me that it's not worth it!!!

The jewelry will be available publicly in 2010. Shoot, I'm fitting to save up myself LOL well maybe not cuz we're all in recession mode and I'm a college student with loans to pay LOL but it's really nice jewelry! Go ahead Alicia!!! Glad to see you expanding!!!!

PEACE.
