I am so glad Being Mary Jane is back on TV! Picking up from last week's season premiere, Mary Jane wakes up to noise in her house, and grabs a bat to approach the intruder! It's actually David, who makes her breakfast, half naked. He tries to kiss on her, but she backs away from him. Instead, she apologizes for everything, including giving up on him and stealing his sperm. He asks if he can kiss her, and does. However, they are interrupted by an unknown baby, who is David's son, Andre! Turns out to all be a dream, and Mary Jane wakes up to Isabelle crying.

Niecy is cooking breakfast, and lets Isabelle cry to "teach her independence," which is ironic because Niecy lacks independence herself! When MJ realizes that Niecy has screwed up her French oven, she continually texts Patrick to figure out when Niecy is going to move back. Patrick ignores her and makes his own breakfast and watches TV. A little later, Patrick comes over, and Mary Jane vents about Niecy staying there, and honestly wants her out soon. Patrick is "working" on a better living situation for everybody, but no telling when that will come. At that moment, we see that Niecy's son Trevion has drawn on MJ's walls, and it's yet another reason why Niecy and her kids have to go!

Later, MJ and a cop watch an abused prostitute, as MJ plans to do a story about sex trafficking in Atlanta. The cop is honest with her, saying that the ones that can usually be saved are the ones that just became a part of this. Pimps literally buy, sell, and trade girls like they were merchandise, and the reason they stick around are because of the threats they get on their lives from their pimps.

Back at work, Mary Jane continues to research stories, and eventually brings a group of girls to tour the studio. Kara comes through, and tells MJ she has found a girl who has been sold in Atlanta who may be able to add to the story. The girl's name is goes by Polly and is 17. However, she wants to meet MJ before actually going on air. At that moment, Mark comes over frantically, announcing that his parents are in town. Apparently, every time that they have visited him, MJ has acts as his beard. Though she's busy, she agrees to step in for him again.

That night, Mark's boyfriend Eric gets mad about this situation, and understandably so. I get that Mark doesn't want to put himself out there to his family, but I don't think he's really fooling anyone. Plus he's hurting Eric in the process, and himself really. Eric lets Mark know that he needs to own who he is--a black, gay man. It's literally been years since they've been doing this. When his parents arrives, Mark tells Eric to leave out of the back door and head over to Mary Jane's, which I know has to be so hurtful.

Meanwhile, back at the station, one of the girls touring the studio asks her dad to go to the movies, Her dad thanks Kara, and adds that they met briefly before. As he is about to leave, Kara strikes up a conversation with him. He asks where he can get a drink close by while he waits for his daughter, and she invites him to drink at the office.

At Mark's, he and Mary Jane make up stories for his parents about their fake engagement. His mom
asks the really good questions (seemingly already knowing that this is all a sham). She asks if MJ's parents approve of Mark, when will they actually get married, or, at least, when will Mark get a real ring! No one's that busy. Mary Jane continues the facade as Mark goes to get more wine. Beatrice just comes out and says she knows he's gay, and wants him to share his life with them, and stop hiding. Mark admits to his father he's always been gay, but his father feels like this came out of nowhere. Stan is more upset that he's been lying to him all this time. Even though he is admittedly a homophobe, Stan tells him upfront that the son they raised would've had the courage to be whoever the hell he wanted to be regardless of what anyone thought, including them. Mark has been putting his parents off whenever they wanted to visit to hide his life. It's sad, but there are many in the black community that are homophobic, and those that are of the LBGTQ community, at times, feel like they cannot be open about who they are. I love this show, because it brings up these kinds of topics for open discussion at home, on social media, etc.

Later that night, MJ goes to meet Polly at a diner. Polly reveals that she eats a happy meal every day for cheap from her pimp. Mary Jane asks her about her day, which consisted of watching TV, since she was "on the blob." The pimps apparently get violent with the girls being on their period like they can help. Polly's registered in high school, but doesn't go. It turns out that she's actually 15, not 17, which makes the sad situation even worse.

At the office, Kara is talking to the guy about her work as a producer and how she often works late to create quality shows. She still considers herself on the  climb in her career, and she wants to win an Emmy for working for a network. She admits that her work and her being the breadwinner affected her marriage, as well as her ex screwing the real estate agent. He asks if he can take her out for a proper drink one night,  but she's not interested in dating Latino men. He's a little offended, but he knows she wants to see him again. He gets a text from her daughter saying the movie's over, and tells Kara to let him know if she wants that drink. He leaves his business card, revealing his name is Gian Montoya.

At the diner, Polly talks about how the men she's with are gross. Some men don't even want sex. They just want someone to listen to them. Mary Jane tries to get Polly to tell her her real name, which Polly refuses to reveal. However, she admits that "Polly" was the name of her imaginary friend who "always protected her," and she uses that to give her strength through all this. Mary Jane tells her that there are many girls who need to hear her story. However, Polly wants money in exchange. When MJ reveals that she can't pay money but could offer her something else, Polly walks away, saying "It's always about the money." As Mary Jane goes after her, Polly's pimp walks in and angrily tells her to get in the car. MJ asks for Polly's price to get her out of this, and the pimp wants to sell her for $20,000! Mary Jane reveals she only has checks which angers the pimp and he drags Polly away.

At the end of the episode, Mary Jane looks through clips of other girls who may be able to talk on the show. As she Jane is taking notes, Mark comes over. He tells MJ that he and Eric broke up, after Eric thought long and hard about their relationship, and realizes that Mark and MJ have the better relationship. During the day, they were just marking time. There was no real depth. It means so much that he came out to his parents, but he shared that moment with MJ, not Eric, so it's for the best that they broke up. As MJ continues to look at a video of another prostitute, she calls Niecy and tells her that everything is going to be fine. Everyone is going to be right there to help her while Niecy figures it out. It's clear that MJ doesn't even want Niecy to consider this life.

Being Mary Jane is back for what looks to be an explosive second season! Picking up from last season, Mary Jane returns home from saying goodbye to David, and is obviously upset. So upset, in fact, that she ends up throwing her fish bowl through her glass window in the living room! I was wondering what the title of this episode was about! Poor Starsky.

Later on, Mary Jane hosts a small dinner with her friends to discuss a book they read (I'm assuming she either got that glass fixed pretty quickly or this is a while later). The group debates blacks and their roles in American history. They disagree on some things, but it's all in good fun, though MJ is getting too drunk for her own good! Her brother Paul, Jr comes over, and after a heated debate over their father and his own job, Mary Jane ends up going off about him and her other brother Patrick, who both still live at home. So drunk, MJ expresses her feelings about Patrick's job as security for movie trailers, and Paul selling drugs. Paul goes for the jugular when he says that now he sees why David doesn't want her and is with "that white chick" Ana, and leaves. That quickly shuts MJ up for a second, but then she turns to Val, who made some analogy comparing her brothers to ducks trying to survive or something like that. Mary Jane says that maybe she should be done with both Val and her husband Chris since they are really David's friends! This woman is really unraveling, and it's quite sad to watch how she's acting...over a guy.
The next morning, Mary Jane is a hot drunk mess. She peed in the bed, and ends up throwing up outside after not being able to make it to the bathroom. She manages to pull it together and get to work, where she and Kara discuss interview ideas. Right when they're getting somewhere, Mary Jane brings up David...AGAIN. I can't deal with her. He's with someone else and the girl is pregnant (though MJ doesn't know that yet at this point), so I need her to let it go. Kara is trying to save her from going down the same road Kara herself went down with her ex, but MJ is not really trying to hear it.

Meanwhile at the Pattersons, Niecy invites a friend over without permission, which gets Mama Helen upset. She goes off on Niecy about how she's tired of all of these grown people living in her house doing nothing. Niecy talks about plans to go to nursing school, but seems perfectly content living off Mary Jane and her grandparents. The little girl makes it seem like she can handle it all on her own, and doesn't need to be there, but she has two kids, and doesn't have a real plan for her life. It seems like she's going to try to move about....but really where is she going to go?!

At work, MJ is stalking David's girlfriend online. She then goes to meet Valerie, and apologizes for her outburst, admitting that she's jealous of Valerie's picture perfect life. Mary Jane even says "I want the life you post on Instagram because that looks awesome."  Valerie tells her that both she and Chris have to work at their lives and marriages, and admits that they had a fight before they came over to MJ's house that night. That's SOCIETY'S problem, honestly. We see the glitz and glamour on people's social pages, and envy them like their lives are perfect, but why? Just because you see a lot of good in someone's life, doesn't mean that they don't have struggles. No one's going to show the bad stuff going on with them online (I should write a post on BrittanyShawnte.com about that!). Then Mary Jane pries for more information about David's girlfriend, and Valerie refuses to talk to her about any of it. Mary Jane is making herself look crazy, and like a fake friend who's only hanging out
with Valerie to keep up with what David has going on! When Valerie states that she thinks Mary Jane is stressed and might need a vacation. MJ gets mad at her for suggesting it, and storms off. However, the way she's acting, it might not be such a bad idea!

That night, Mary Jane looks through old texts from David. She gets a  mysterious call, which turns out to be Niecy with her kids at the bus station. Obviously Niecy tried to run away, but how far can you really get with no job, probably no money, and two kids at the hip?  Surprise, surprise, MJ brings them all over to her house. Niecy vents about Helen, and opens up about her plans for nursing school, which Mary Jane says she'll pay for. That night, Kara calls and suggests MJ freezing her eggs ("the modern day woman's insurance policy") and covering it for the show. Surprisingly, Mary Jane goes for it without hesitation. She then holds Niecy's newborn Isabelle....and accidentally butt dials David! This guy probably thinks she's insane.

The next day, Mary Jane comes over to Val and Chris' house and asks again about David! She claims to need closure, and will sacrifice her pride to get it obviously. Sick of it all, Chris picks up the phone and calls David, and tells him that they both need to talk. It's all so sad and embarrassing. From last season, I had hope that MJ was going to be stronger than this, but now she just looks clingy and crazy! She goes back home, after hearing that Anna is expecting. Niecy's dad Patrick is there trying to convince Niecy to stay at her grandparents with him until he can put some stuff together.

David surprisingly comes over, which I swore for a second was a dream, and Mary Jane bombards him with questions. She asks outright if David is with Ana because he loves her or because of the baby? David implies that it's because of the baby, when he says basically that he wants his baby to have two parents around all the time. Mary Jane feels like he let her believe that it was something wrong with her, that it was her fault that they broke up. MJ herself wanted to have children under the right circumstances, and feels like she's being punished for trying to get her career together first. He grabs her hand, and assures her she's not. They end up kissing and almost going further, until MJ cries and stops it, saying that that was supposed to be their baby. The next morning, MJ wakes up to a note from David that says "I'm sorry." We then see her getting back to work, and hopefully that conversation gave her some kind of peace!

The Game is definitely bringing the drama this season! Picking up last season's explosive finale, Chardonnay charges out of the church after slapping Jason for saying that he's still in love with ex-wife Kelly at their wedding! He tries to chase behind her, but she speeds off in the wedding car. I mean come on, Jason. You can't say you love your ex-wife, and think she's going to stay! I would've LOVED to be at that wedding though, especially for that slap!

As everyone leaves the church, Malik jokes with Tasha on the phone about the slap Chardonnay gave him. He believes this shows that anything could happen at anytime. He wants to move up his trials right now and play football again, even though Yana already told him . Jason walks up to Kelly, who doesn't know what Jason was thinking! Jason still has feelings for Kelly, but Kelly has moved on apparently! She found her a "muy caliente Latino," but had been keeping it a secret. Now Jason destroyed a good woman and relationship for nothing.

Meanwhile, Blue and Keira head to the airport to go to Vegas to get married. These fools are nowhere near ready for marriage if you ask me. They almost didn't even make it on the plane when the captain says they had to pay for the fuel for the jet! Blue doesn't know what he's talking about, and even calls Mark Cuban (who owns it, I guess), and he lets them know that yes, you have to gas up the plane!

Later, we see Pookie come to Tasha's with healthy food and other things to help out with Baby Kyra and Tasha's recovery. At that moment, Chardonnay calls Tasha and cries about Jason. She feels so played! At that moment, Chardonnay's doorbell rings, and all Tasha and viewers hear is a bunch of scuffling! Though it was implied that it was probably Jason, turns out it's Kelly! She just wanted to apologize, and Tasha manages to come over and break them up. Kelly speaks truth, saying that women needs to stop going after each other off of drama that men brought, but Chardonnay doesn't want to hear it. She wants Kelly to admit that she came back to San Diego, but Kelly denies it, telling Chardonnay to not throw away her marriage to Jason. As she leaves, she tells Tasha that there's even hope with her and Pookie. Tasha keeps it real, saying that babies don't save relationships, Pookie hates Tasha. When things are dead, they're dead. Pookie doesn't want Tasha anymore after the Rick Fox incident, and Tasha has come to terms with that.

Later, the captain catches Blue and Keira coming out of the bathroom after having sex. Apparently, it turns out that the flight attendant Marie is a huge fan of Keira and her movie Baggers. Keira reveals that she's going to Miami in the summer to shoot a new Woody Allen movie, which takes Blue by surprise. He clearly thought they had gotten past that, and that Keira was going to stay, but obviously not.

Meanwhile, Malik goes over to Yana's with a beautiful bracelet and massage balls. She doesn't want to accept his apology for getting mad at her like he did. However, Malik just got caught up in wanting to get back in the game. Yana still won't sign the medical release, though, even saying that she loves him so much that she's willing to risk losing him if it means he'll heal properly. Malik gets over it though, and they spend the night together.

At Tasha's, Kelly is around the baby with Pookie. She reveals she's heading out of town, and even lied to Jason about dating someone else just to get away from this drama. Now Tasha has to clean up this whole mess. Pookie later reveals that he changed the baby's last name to his, as he is indeed the father to her child. Now, they have to figure out how they are going to co-parent. Tasha thinks now that there's hope, but there's not. Pookie also announces that he wants to take Kyra to live in Richmond, which Tasha refuses to accept. They get into an argument, and now it's clear that the lawyers will have to get involved in terms of custody agreements.

That night, at Yana's, Malik sneaks out of bed and goes through Yana's things. He finds her credit card and looks at the back, implying that he's going to forge her signature on his medical release forms. I really can't stand Malik sometimes. He's so impatient to get back to his career, that he's going to mess up what seems like one of the best things to ever happen to him because of this!

Meanwhile, Chardonnay plays Emeli Sande's "Clown," and takes a deep look at herself in the mirror, taking off the wedding dress for a bath, but looking so broken. However, the next morning, it's like she had an epiphany. In a real Bernadette from Waiting To Exhale moment, Chardonnay is selling all of Jason's stuff for cheap. Everything else she plans to burn up. However, Tasha brings over a Sunbeam and image consultant Dionne to try to get Chardonnay back on track.

At Malik's house, Tee Tee calls him out for forging Yana's signature, but Malik doesn't want to hear it. Jason is all in his feelings drinking, and Malik gets real with him. He doesn't think that Jason and Chardonnay were never going to have a future, because Jason has never really wanted black women. He feels like Chardonnay bullied him into quitting football and she told him he should confess about his steroid use. Jason feels like the love he has for her overshadows all of that, which it should.

On the plane, the flight attendant Marie and Keira are having a ball, and Blue is upset. Before they even have the chance to take off, Blue confronts Keira about going to Miami for this movie. He tells her that he proposed to her, and wants his wife at home. Keira figures out that he basically proposed to her so she would pass on the movie. However, Keira's not that kind of girl. She wants to follow her dreams, and Blue honestly should support her. They begin arguing and even throw cookies at each other. When one hits the captain, the captain throws them off the plane! No Vegas marriage for them...which is a good thing!

At Chardonnay's, Tasha reveals that Chardonnay needs to be smarter and expand her brand. Dionne and Tasha throw ideas around about how Chardonnay can use this negative situation to help women and make money--books, motivational tours, etc. Maybe a little unrealistic, but it definitely gets Chardonnay thinking.

Back at their apartment, Blue and Keira are ignoring each other, even though they're 10 feet away. Blue texts Keira to break the ice, admitting he doesn't want to be alone. Keira's his family, and he does want to marry her. However, Keira texts that she needs to be able to follow her dreams too. Blue then suggests a compromise--they'll have a normal engagement instead of rushing to get married, and Keira can still go to Miami for her movie and pursue her dream.

The next day before Malik's trials, the owner of the Sabers asks Jason to come back as a special wide receivers consultant for Blue. Blue has never performed consistently, but they built their entire offense and defense around him, which Jason uses to get himself an actual coaching position. Malik comes out for his trials like a only a fool can, making it a huge spectacle with a DJ, dancers, and a stage. Yana shows up and almosts busts his bubble, but she lets him attempt to show off his skills surprisingly. After a few good passes, however Malik's arm starts acting up, and he ends up overthrowing a lot. He's clearly not ready, and, needless to say, everyone ends up passing on him. Yana also leaves him, feeling like he doesn't know how to love anything else but football. I wouldn't blame her. Malik selfishly put her career and reputation at risk. I understand being passionate about what you do, but there's so much more to life. Malik has yet to realize that.

At the end of the episode, Pookie is able to get into Tasha's house even with bodyguard Bibs around. Tasha calls him petty for wanting to take their daughter. He apologizes, but he wants to be around his child. He just wants to share the daughter that he had with her. He clearly loves that little girl, and just wants to be in her life. After hearing him out, Tasha watches as he bonds with Kyra.

Meanwhile, Jason dances at Malik's house, celebrating his new job, while Malik soaks in the hot tub in despair. All of Jason's celebrating comes to a halt when Chardonnay knocks on the door, and delivers divorce papers AND an emotional cruelty lawsuit, wanting to take everything he has to pay for her brand! She even takes his champagne! WHAT?!

I don't know how this season is going to go, but I definitely will be watching! Be sure to check out new episodes of The Game now on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET only on BET!

SEASON 7 of The Game just premiered last night, and I'm excited for what's to come! I've been recapping the seasons since the show came over to BET, so look forward to my recaps all season long!

Picking up from last season, Jason's Sabers jersey is getting retired since he is done with football, and the ceremony going to be a huge affair! We see Tasha getting Botox (is she feeling insecure about her age now?). Meanwhile, Keira and Blue have an awkward moment in the elevator on the way to the event. They're still broken up, but Keira looks to be missing him.

After getting beat down by Franco and his crew, Malik hasn't left his house (or bathed it looks like) in six weeks! He's depressed and bitter because the Sabers threw him off the team since his arm is injured. Jason and Chardonnay come through to convince Malik to come out, especially since Malik is supposed to be introducing Jason at the ceremony. Malik doesn't want to do it at all, seeing as though he'll see a lot of the same people he used to play and work with. As Jason gives up and leaves, Chardonnay tells Malik that he can't go out like this. He is also Jason's best friend, and she expects him to take a bath and get down there! I get Malik's depression, but it's only going to get worse if he doesn't find a way to get up and get on with his life.

Everyone comes out for the ceremony, including Jason's parents and daughter Brittany. At the bar, Keira tells Chardonnay that Blue basically ignored her, even in that hot dress she was wearing. She still misses him in her life and wants him back. Keira waltzes up to Blue's table, and his date Elyse comes up at that very moment. It's very awkward that they all have to sit at the same table, and Blue looks to be so taken with his date. I felt bad for Keira right there, but she brought it on herself. She broke up with Blue, thinking it was for the best, but instead of fighting to work through things, she gave up. She can't be mad that he moved on.

Meanwhile, Tasha, who looks a mess because of her Botox (everyone thinks she had a stroke!), flirts with Jason's father, who thinks she looks incredible. The nasty part is that both Jason's father and mother see her as a turn on, and go get it on in the stairwell! Ick! Chardonnay drags Tasha to the bathroom, knowing there is something going on with her, especially with that terrible Botox job. Tasha reveals that she thinks she's going through...the change.

Malik actually comes through to introduce Jason. Right before Jason takes his place on stage, a reporter named Omari McGee speaks to him about the season he won the championship. For a 35 year old, his numbers were high that yeah. He's implying that he may have had a little help...aka the steroids that Jason used a few seasons ago. Omari has a solid source within the Sabers organization, but wants to give Jason a chance to share his side of the story. Wow. I never thought that was ever going to come out, but hey, what's done in the dark....

When Malik introduces Jason, he's nowhere to be found. Jason ran to the bathroom sick to his stomach that this is all going to come out, right after he gets his jersey retired. So much can happen because of it. The championship Jason helped the Sabers get could even get revoked. While Jason's in the bathroom, Malik takes the time to go off on everybody really quick. Jason then comes back on stage and admits that no one will ever understand the risk that goes into playing the game that he loves, staring Omari down. He's proud that he made it through, and was able to win a championship for his team.

Malik leaves the ceremony to find his bodyguard Bibs at the bar. As they sit, Franco's music video comes on, and it's a diss record towards Malik! Franco goes in on how he beat him up, and even has a guy wearing his jersey in a wheelchair! Needless to say, that gets Malik all riled up, ready to put a hurting on Franco!

Back at the ceremony, Tasha gets nauseous all of a sudden. In the bathroom, Tasha admits to Chardonnay that she missed her period, and is gaining weight. Sounds to Chardonnay like Tasha may just be pregnant!

Jason tells one of his teammates Ty that the news about the steroids got out. Turns out Ty's the one who snitched himself. Jason then smacks him all over the place. Ty bashes Jason for never being there for him as a friend. It looks like Ty's trying to bring Jason down with him!

Meanwhile, Keira goes to the bathroom and the room is spinning because she's so drunk. While she's in the stall, she hears moaning from the next stall. She peeks over and sees Blue and Elyse having sex! Turns out that Keira's actually in the men's stall! She calls Blue out for being a typical athlete and tells Elyse that she should have more respect for herself  and recognize she's worth more than to be having sex in the bathroom, especially when they're in a hotel with beds! Blue, in turn, calls her a pathetic stalker, who follows him wherever he goes with sad puppy dog eyes. Keira angrily storms out, but Elyse, actually listening to her, leaves too!

Later, Malik goes to the studio to get revenge on Franco! As he and Bibs sit outside while Malik gets ready to go in, Tasha comes up to stop him, telling him that it's only going to make him feel good for a minute. Tasha reveals that she indeed is going to have a baby, and Malik is going to be a big brother. That made him feel a lot better! Turns out that Bibs called Tasha to stop Malik. That's a good friend.

At the end of the episode, Keira tries to get her keys to her car from the valet, but he won't give them to her since she's drunk. Instead, he gives them to Blue. When the two make a scene, a cop comes up to them wondering what's going on! Blue insists that Keira is drunk, but Keira sweetly tells the cop that she just wants her keys from him. The cop believes her, and tells Blue to give the keys back. Blue refuses, and when the cop gets in his face, Blue ends up punching him! Several cops come up to arrest him, with paparazzi snapping pics all the while! Keira manages to sneak off while it's all happening! Very crazy ending! I feel for Blue. He was trying to keep Keira from probably killing herself, and then gets sent to jail! It's crazy!

Looks like this season is going to be a good one! I'm beyond ready for Kelly to come back on the scene too!
