After 13 years on the air, American Idol has officially been canceled! According to Us WeeklyFOX made the announcement on Monday, May 11,

"American Idol will begin its 15th -- and final -- season this January on FOX," the network wrote in a release. "A season-long celebratory event, American Idol XV will feature host Ryan Seacrest and judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., as they search for the final Idol superstar and pay tribute to the past 14 seasons of amazingly talented contestants and the millions of fans who tweeted, texted and championed their Idols."

The show's original judges Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, and Randy Jackson have been long gone. In addition to these and the current judges, other judges over the years included Kara DioGuardi, Ellen DeGeneres, Steven Tyler, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, The show has started the careers of quite a few popular singers including Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Fantasia Barrino, Clay Aiken, and Jordin Sparks.

This is a cancellation I'm happy about honestly! I understand that the show has and still is helping to develop the careers of several great singers, However, this show has been holding on by a thread for a long time. Despite new little bells and whistles, not as many people are watching as when the show first started out. Other than the auditions, I don't even bother anymore. Honestly, I think it should've been canceled once Simon left. Hopefully, it goes out with a big bang though! I see them bringing back a lot of the AI alum to say goodbye, and that's an episode I'll be watching!

Bad news for Anderson Live fans! It was announced today that Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show will not be renewed for a third season.

Telepictures, which is part of Warner Bros., announced today that due to soft ratings, despite a live reworking of the show for its second season, the show will not be renewed, but will continue to air through the summer of 2013.

A statement came from Warner Bros. saying, "We are extremely proud of Anderson and the show that he and the entire production team have produced. While we made significant changes to the format, set and produced it live in its second season, the series will not be coming back for a third season in a marketplace that has become increasingly difficult to break through. We will continue to deliver top-quality shows throughout next summer."

Anderson himself released a statement, saying, "I am very proud of the work that our terrific staff has put into launching and sustaining our show for two seasons. I am also grateful to Telepictures for giving me the opportunity, and indebted to viewers, who have responded so positively. I look forward to doing more great shows this season, and though I'm sorry we won't be continuing, I have truly enjoyed it."

I didn't watch the show very much but definitely caught some episodes. It was a very intriguing show for sure! Daytime tv is definitely hard to break into with all of the different shows already out there. However, Anderson did a pretty good job holding his own! On to the next...

According to People, Amy Winehouse's current European tour has been canceled! The tour was to have 12 stops before ending on August 15 in Bucharest, Romania.

This past Saturday, Amy tried to perform in Belgrade, showing up an hour late, then stumbling around and slurring the words to her 2008 song "Just Friends." She even greeted the crowd of 20,000 by shouting, "Hello, Athens," (???!) according to the U.K.'s Telegraph newspaper. Following the incident, Amy apologized to fans and canceled Monday's scheduled performance in Istanbul and Wednesday's in Athens.

Now the entire tour has been canceled. No word if Amy will be heading back to rehab for her problem with alcohol. She has just finished a stint late last month.

I don't deny this woman's talent at all, but she has problems. She commits to change, this is going to be a consistent problem. There is nothing more that pisses me off than when an artist with talent starts blowing it for no good reason. I'm honestly hoping that she goes into rehab now for as long as it takes for her to stop. Alcoholism is a serious problem, and she needs help with it. If that means she needs to take off of music for a while, so be it. That's what I would be telling her if I was on her team. Because what purpose does it do for her to have tours and appearances if she's drunk? And more important than the career, this is her LIFE. I don't know if somebody told her that or not, but she definitely doesn't need to be saying no to rehab.

PEACE.
