After much speculation, it is official. Stacey Dash is officially leaving VH1's scripted series, Single Ladies. She made an exclusive statement to Global Grind this afternoon. "I truly enjoyed playing Val on 'Single Ladies', but I have decided to leave the show," Stacey said. "I have to be back in L.A. with my children right now and the Single Ladies shooting location makes that impossible. I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show and in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in season one."

I literally screamed "NOOOOOO!!!" at this news just now. Honestly, out of everyone's storyline on the show, Val's was the one that I was most intrigued by. And now, I feel like the show will just be completely off, especially if they scrap Val completely. What's going to happen with the shop, where three of the characters, Keisha, Omar, and intern Christina works? Is VH1 going to have someone step into her role? AND does Stacey really have family issues to take care of, or is her leaving really based on issues she had with Lisa Raye on the set? It just leaves a lot of unanswered questions.

We'll see what happens next season. I'm just extremely disappointed with the end result. But, hey, that's the business. Wishing Stacey and her family the best, as well as the cast and crew as they adapt to this change.

Wale released his video for "That Way," which features Jeremih and Rick Ross, on 106 & Park today. After missing it at the beginning of the show, I sat there flipping between The Addams Family and BET for almost 2 hours! Only for him. I just...I love him. I do. And that's all I have to say. From Self Made, Vol 1 by Maybach Music, check out the video for "That Way" below!

*SPOILER ALERT! This review covers ALL of the 2011 MTV Music Video Awards!*

I started doing my review to MTV's Video Music Awards when I first started the blog, after doing a review on the BET Awards. So, of course, I'm keeping up the tradition! The VMAs is one of MTV's top events all year, along with the Movie Awards, so my eyes were glued to the TV!

The VMA pre-show was just like the BET pre-show. Just ehh. Sway hosted with Selena Gomez at the JW Marriott in LA. Guests included the cast of Jersey Shore, Rick Ross (ahem, Wale better get his air time next year MTV), Demi Lovato, Taylor Lautner and more. There was a disaster of a performance by Cobra Starship and Sabi, who I had heard of, but never heard the song they did. And now that I have, I'll pass. They can't sing, and their performance didn't impress. And I'm the only one who saw when they cut in front of Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa in the paparazzi area? Why weren't they on stage from the beginning, MTV? That design in that hotel was way too much.

Another thing I noticed was that MTV continued to ask people about their problems with each other, i.e., asking Rick Ross and DJ Khaled about Kreayshawn, Tyler the Creator about Bruno Mars, who's stupid behind proceeds to go in on him (Somebody please get this boy a decent publicist. I'll talk more about him later). I really didn't like that. Like we all know that people have issues with each other, but that doesn't mean you have to worsen the situation on your red carpet.

More after the jump!

The first moonman of the night, Video with a Message, went to Lady Gaga for "Born This Way." Deserved! Nicki Minaj, who felt the need to top Gaga last night apparently with that crazy getup, premiered a sneak peek of her video "Fly", which premiered moments later on MTV.com. But the best and most talked about news of the night, at least on my Twitter timeline, was the news that BEYONCÉ'S PREGNANT!!!!! Yes, it's true this time! She confirmed it herself in the paparazzi area when she grabbed her stomach! I screamed in my room like I was right there seeing it myself when I saw the picture. I'm so excited for her and Jay-Z!

The awards started off with what was SUPPOSED to be a "historic" performance by Lady Gaga. Now, as I've said on numerous occasions, I'm used to Gaga being...Gaga, but last night was a mess to me with that Jo what's his face persona. She started her performance off with this long monologue, and I was just like, "Gaga, go ahead and sing!" It was just too much. And was I the only one who thought about Amy Winehouse's ex Blake when I saw Gaga? I just didn't like it. She eventually performed "You and I," which I love, but her man look just threw me off the rest of the night.

Kevin Hart opened up the show. Not as host, because MTV felt they didn't need one this year, which was obviously false because the presenters this year were extremely corny. If Kevin had've hosted the VMAs that would have been AMAZING! I was definitely feeling MTV throwing shade at BET, like "We got your host, and Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Kanye actually took the time to come to our show! Why else would they REALLY pick Kevin Hart. I don't really think MTV is his crowd, but they did it anyway to indirectly say, "We have the best award show. What?"

Jessie J and her band, who served as the house band, killed it, even with that Bedazzled leg cast she had on. I commend her though for coming out after breaking her foot. I don't blame her for missing her opportunity, because now I might just buy her album. Her voice is amazing and I was with her all night...until she's sang "No Scrubs." Never again, Jessie. Just...don't.

Jonah Hilll and Nicki Minaj presented the Best Pop Video to Britney Spears for "Till The World Ends," and she, of course, "wasn't expecting it." Girl, get out of here. They were giving you an award later on in the night, and a tribute (Talk about that mess later). Jay-Z and Kanye performed "Otis," with a lot of smoke and a flag. And I was disappointed. I said it on Twitter, and one of my followers commented, "But that's all the video was." And I know, but I expected more like some fire and hella motorcycles. I guess I was too excited.

The Best Rock Video went Foo Fighters for "Walk," and Nicki Minaj got the Best Hip Hop Video for "Super Bass." People were upset at that, but it's like people don't understand the way these award shows go. It's popularity, and even though "Super Bass" is not even really hip hop, at the end of the day, Nicki Minaj is getting hers over at MTV regardless. Justin Bieber, of course, received Best Male Video for "U Smile." Why people acted so surprised on Twitter, I don't know. Because I surely wasn't. Bieber Fever is still alive and well! Best Collaboration went to Katy Perry and Kanye for "E.T." And Katy had the nerve to say to Kanye, "This is your first moonman right?" And Kanye calmly said, "Naw, I got more." That was my laugh of the night! Like boo, that was your first moonman. Don't try to play him!

Then we had the Pitbull and Ne-Yo performance of "Give Me Everything", with that unknown girl that reminded me of Cassie. It was a hot performance, though. Pitbull is definitely trying to get some spotlight back. Then Adele mesmerized the crowd on "Someone Like You," with her magnificent voice. And all she did was stand there and sing. She's that amazing, she can do that! I gave her the best performance of the night UNTIL....Christopher Maurice Brown took the stage. Yes! Chris KILLED with a performance of "Yeah 3x" and "Beautiful People," as well as a dance montage to different songs of the decades from artists like Wu Tang Clan and Nirvana. AND, he flew through the air with his dancers, flipping and carrying on! It was just a great performance. Say what you want about him, but you can't say that he doesn't put on a great show. (Seeing him again in September!!!!)

The Britney tribute was a pure mess, and forgettable. It was already upsetting that she was getting one in the first place, and Aaliyah wasn't for her 10th year anniversary. I didn't need a full on performance, but a video montage would've been nice, MTV. Especially after all the times she's been on your red carpet. Anyway, by the time the Britney tribute started, it was over. It was a bunch of costumed dancers, wearing her outfits from over the years dancing to a mix of her songs like America's Best Dance Crew. No artists came out and actually sang for her. Like what was the purpose of that anyway. What I didn't know is that she was winning won an award named Michael Jackson (the Michael Jackson Vanguard something, something or other), which Lady Gaga presented to her.

What made me laugh is that after all that, it was still about Beyoncé! Britney got up there, gave her little speech (which I heard threw shade at Bey, but I wasn't paying that close attention), and then proceeded to announce Beyoncé for her performance! I said to myself, "How do you have a "tribute," no one actually sings your music, and then you go up there only to present Beyoncé?" That just showed me who the King really is haha! Bey killed in her Motown-like performance of "Love on Top, and THEN  threw her mic down and flashed that baby bump like BOOM! Yall better watch the throne!!!! My night was done.

There was also a performance by Young the Giant (???). I don't listen to them, so that was background music as I worked on this review. Lady Gaga received the Best Female Video for "Born This Way," again no surprise, and deserved! I really do love that song. Best New Artist went to Tyler The Creator surprisingly for "Yonkers." Part of me thinks MTV did it just to see if he would say anything more about Bruno Mars. But congrats to him anyway. He's a unique artist, and very rarely do unique artists win at these things. Unless you're Lady Gaga. What was A PURE MESS was how he brought all of Odd Future up there, and then proceeded to curse in his speech. I was embarrassed for my people. I like what I've heard from Tyler, but good goodness! Where is his publicist to tell him how to act?! Image is EVERYTHING sir!

The Amy Winehouse tribute, which featured Russell Brand, a unreleased song of Amy's with Tony Bennett, and  a performance by Bruno Mars of "Valerie," was really good. I would have personally loved if Naya Rivera could have came in and done her cover of "Back to Black," but it was a good tribute regardless. Definitely touching.

Video of the Year went to Katy Perry for "Firework." And then Lil Wayne ended the show with "How to Love" and "John," which I had never heard of because I don't listen to him like that. And tonight proved why. How do you go from "How to Love," which was too somber for an end performance anyway, by the way, and then go to a full rock performance? The dumbest transition ever. I would have rather he just cut out "How to Love" all together. And those leopard jeggings he had on, of course, showing off his drawers? It was just a mess to me. Definitely not something I would've ended the show with.  In my opinion, Bey should have closed out the show, especially since she flashed that baby bump! But I don't work for MTV, so hey.

Overall, the VMAs were good. The performances were definitely the best part of the night (minus Wayne). A lot of comparison last night to the BET Awards. I won't do it, even though I'm tempted. I enjoyed both this year. However, one actually had Beyoncé and the other didn't soooo.....haha I enjoyed myself. Thanks to my timeline for keeping entertained, and shoutout to MTV for putting on a pretty good show!

Though one has absolutely nothing to do with the other, I would like to start this post by saying happy birthday to the late great Michael Jackson. Never forgotten...RIP.

The wall really did win in this special episode of the Shore! Before the VMAs, MTV aired a new episode of Jersey Shore, which made me happy because I HAD to see what was going to happen after last Thursday's episode. The episode picks up with Ronnie and Mike fighting. Now for those of you who didn't read my last recap, Ronnie tears up his and Mike's room after Sammi told him that Mike told the rest of the house how Ronnie had plans to bring home other girls and everything. Not that it wasn't true, but Ronnie had so much anger and frustration built up towards Mike that he just let loose. Surprisingly though, the fight wasn't what I thought it would be! Read more after the jump!

After Ronnie throws Mike's stuff out of their room, Mike goes crazy himself, egging Ronnie on to hit me since he acts so big and bad. The fool even starts banging his head up against the wall, which, unbeknownst to his stupid behind, is full on concrete. Mike and Ronnie eventually start brawling, with security finally having to break them up. However, the fight is not what caused Mike to go to the hospital, like it was seen on the trailer for this season. Mike's own headbanging caused him to have a mild concussion and neck sprain! And so, the wall won ha!

Sammi's dumb self still tries to talk to Ronnie while he's still obviously upset. Eventually, he admits that he had been calling another girl, and Sammi and Ronnie break up with each other for the umpteenth time. Can I say again that if they hadn't gotten back together in the first place, none of this drama would've happened in the first place! Just because you love someone, doesn't mean you're meant to be together. I really don't know what goes on with them when the show is over, but on the show, it just seems like they have a really unhealthy relationship. No point of sticking together. Ronnie contemplates leaving, for a little bit, until Vinny finally convinces him that he should stay. I wish I would even think about leaving! Dude, you're in Italy! Freaking ITALY!!! Nobody's bull would make me want to leave.

After spending some hours in the hospital for observation, Mike returns home and lies in bed. People check in on him periodically, and Ronnie and Sammi both apologize for the roles they played in the entire argument. Meanwhile, immature Sammi decides to place all of the stuff that Ronnie bought her back on his bed, as if to say, "We're done, I don't need you anymore so I don't need your stuff." Ronnie then throws it all out, and returns to the room to kind of sort of make up with Mike. They joke around, surprising to the rest of the house, but who knows what will happen. Snooki goes in to also make up with Mike after their whole fight about Mike AGAIN running his mouth, saying that he hooked up with her when she and her boyfriend were together. She lets him know that she's still mad and doesn't accept what he did, but did express concern for him.

From there the episode died down a bit. Later, during a night out on the town, Pauly gets into an argument with some dude out of nowhere at the club. It was over before it started, so it was no big deal. Ronnie gives Sammi flowers to sort of apologize and move on as...whatever it is they can be without arguing...just to keep the peace. Of course, Sammi asks Ronnie about other girls, continuing on with the drama. Ronnie throws the roses out, and now Sammi's "confused" about his actions. God, I just don't want them to ever be together, at least not on this show. I like drama as much as the next reality TV junkie, but there's a difference between entertaining drama and annoying drama. Ron and Sam are annoying drama.

(Side Note: What did Deena have on at the VMAs?!!! Review on the Awards next! As always, I GO IN!)

      Until Jerzday,

Yes, for real this time!!!!! It was announced tonight to MTV behind the scenes at the VMAs and someone snapped this pic! Congrats to Beyoncé and Jay-Z!!!!!!

MTV premiered the official video for "Fly" by Nicki Minaj featuring Rihanna moments ago on MTV.com. It's not my favorite song off of Pink Friday, but it definitely has a good message-conquering your battles and succeeding!

Walking around a crashed airplane and debris, Nicki and Rihanna both looked amazing from the hair to the fashion! Nicki even had a fight sequence with a fierce mohawk! You know, people can say what they want, but both Nicki and Rihanna are killing right now! I loved that they both did collabs on each other's album (Nicki was on Rihanna's "Raining Men," which should actually be a single Rihanna!). "Fly" was a pretty good video...check it out below!

Have another spotlight for you all. Today, we have rapper Lil Dep! From Miami, 18-year-old Raheem Cooper admits that his life was headed in the wrong direction and getting into music changed his life. Known as Lil Dep, the rapper started in music around 2008. "My godbrother and I opened up a studio and we sorta built from there," he said. From there, he began connecting with other rappers and networking. Now they run their own label Hustle-N-Swag Entertainment.

He actually has 12 mixtapes out right now, and is currently working on his 13th! "[It's] called Pink Slips, so people can look for that late September or early October," Lil Dep said. "I feel this project will be my best one, from the content to the lyrics. I focus more on making classic tracks rather then hits."

Read more about Lil Dep and check some of his songs after the jump!

Out of all of his songs, the rapper's favorite is "Under Table Money" (listen below). "I like this song because I put a lot into this track and the way I wrote it is just jaw dropping and the content is crazy," he said of the song. The song is a testament to his coming from nothing to something, and his belief of being underrated.

        "Under Table Money"-Lil Dep

Lil Dep's greatest inspiration stems from his family and friends. He also credits Jay-Z, Eminem, and 50 Cent, "because they're good artists and even better businessmen." He also is inspired by a unsigned group around his area by the name of D-League, because of their dedication and hard work to their craft.

When asked what makes him different from other artists, Lil Dep said that his music is simply not the same. "I just like to think out of the box and I'm not afraid to do what I want to do with my music," he said. "That's why I'm an all genre rapper and that's why I'm different because most rappers don't wanna feel the heat of doing other sounds of music. I don't care. I'm up for it." He credits other talented rappers for keeping him going in pursuit of his dream because it makes him want to be a better artist.

You can follow Lil Dep on Twitter, and check out his official website to hear more of his music! He also told me to give some shoutouts. A first for me, but it's his post, so here we go! Shoutout to Dwayne Dade (not Dwyane Wade before yall say I can't spell), Btk, Barricade, D-League, Oh Ginelle, J. Aires and Matt. Lil Dep credits yall as fam, and thanks you guys for your support.

        "Let'em Know"-Lil Dep

Unfortunately, because of Hurricane Irene coming, the celebrations for the newly opened Martin Luther King, Jr.  Memorial in D.C. have been postponed until later this fall. I wanted to go down anyway and check it out. Now, it is a WALK from the Smithsonian Metro, and I was sweating like a pig trying to get there after work, but it was worth it.

The memorial was absolutely beautiful! Of course, I snapped some pictures, especially because so many won't be able to make it in this weekend as planned. See the memorial after the jump!

The basic layout includes two side entrances, by which you will pass a granite wall that has engraved quotes from Dr. King.

The main entrance is through a split stone, called the "Mountain of Despair," which represents the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement.

After passing through the Mountain, you reach the statue of Dr. King, which is not directly facing the entrance. You walk around and there he is! People say that he has a confrontational stance, but I say that's more of a determined one. Determined to establish equal rights in this country.

These quotes are along the sides of Dr King.

It was awesome to see. Not just because of the architecture, but also because it's a new day. So many people of different races, genders, nationalities, gathered together to see it. Even though I was annoyed by some of the tourists taking pictures of every little thing walking up there, Just think, 48 years ago on this coming Sunday, people gathered to hear Dr King's now famous "I Have A Dream" speech during the March on Washington. They were fighting for the equal rights that we have today. Like I said when I was commenting on the movie The Help, we may not be where we want to be as a people, or in terms of equal rights for all minorities, but thank God we aren't where we used to be. To me, this memorial is not only in honor of Dr. King, but in honor of the fight that he and so many others committed themselves to. And for that, I am forever grateful.

It's really unfortunate that the dedication ceremony is postponed. It was going to be Sunday, which, as I said, was the 48th anniversary of the March on Washington. Not going to be the same at a later date, but it's great to see the memorial finally finished. It's been under construction for quite some time, and to see it finally finished was breathtaking! Definitely come to D.C. to check it out!

I don't know what is about this week, but everybody is putting out their new videos! Been posting embed codes like crazy! Maybe because it's end of summer. Leona Lewis has released her video for her single "Collide," which is off of her upcoming album Glass Heart!

The video features Leona having a little get together on a beach, singing her heart out as usual, and getting in the water as waves crash into her and her love interest. Goes along with the theme of the song--lovers colliding into each other, uniting as one. It's not my favorite song by her, but it's very catchy and fun! I absolutely LOVE her voice!

        Check out the video below!

Ronnie and Mike start to fight at the end of the episode!
JERSEY SHORE RECAP! Oh the drama of this episode!!! Let's dive right into it.

The episode starts with every one in the house discussing Deena's robbery and lesbian hookup of last episode, where she removed one of the DTF twins from Vinny's bed and made out with her. The boys make jokes about her throughout the episode, and eventually Pauly and Vinny play a prank on her her, moving her bed to the living room. That really hurt her, and it looked like she was about to have a mental breakdown. I will say that in this season, Deena changed a bit. Pauly goes in on her, and tells her that she was not acting like "one of the guys" anymore. Deena, out of all of the girls, was the least likely to block, the one that the guys wanted to be around the most, especially Pauly and Vinny. And she for sure wasn't hooking up with girls! So I got where he was coming from. Deena herself acknowledges that she wasn't the same, and couldn't figure out why. Neither can anyone else. She promises to work on it, and everyone hugs it out. No big deal.

        Read more after the jump!

On to Mike and Snooki's drama. Snook tells her boyfriend Jionni the issue about Mike telling others in the house that he had slept with Snooki a few months ago, even though she and Jionni were together back then. Snooki adamantly denies it. Jionni is, of course, somewhat suspicious, but lets it go for now. He's coming to Italy later in the season, so we'll see what happens then. I still say that it's quite possible that Snooki might have cheated, and just really wants to protect herself. Then again, Mike is Mike, and very well could have just gotten mad that Snooki wouldn't hook up with him, so he decided to spread rumors on her. If that's the case, that man is too old for that. He's like 30, 31! That's high school behavior.

A comedic part of the episode was the first day on the job at the pizzeria with Pauly, Snooki, and Deena. I don't understand why MTV would have them work there when they can barely understand what their boss and co-workers are saying to them, but whatever. It makes for some funny stuff! Pauly promoting the pizzeria, aka flirting and talking with chicks on the street, because I didn't see him pull one guy in! Deena and Snooki trying their hand at making pizza, and then persuading customers to buy them wine so they could sneak and drink it in the bathroom! Only the Shore!

Now. Sammi and Ronnie. Exactly why I did not need them to be back together. Ronnie is still talking to this other girl Hannah from back home, seeming like his back up plan if things go bad with Sam (which we all know is inevitable). J-Woww decides to talk to him, and basically tells him to watch himself. She's done with their drama. Later, everyone heads to the club, where Ronnie was dancing ABOVE some chick. Not with the girl, but above her on stage. And Sammi gets mad. What is it with her? The boy is not even dancing with the girl, but you want to make drama anyway?! Maybe it's because she was drunk, and all of their problems and fights tend to be after they had a little too much to drink. But this fight starts what I believe is the biggest drama in Jersey Shore history!

After heading back to the house, Sammi tries to explain her feelings, and opens her mouth talking about Mike saying that Ronnie said that he was bringing home all these girls. And the drama ensues!!! Ronnie, who is sick to death of Mike's mouth, proceeds to throw his bed out of their room, wake Mike up, and argue. Mike snaps after seeing all of his stuff thrown outside, in a way that I never have seen him snap before! The episode ends with Mike egging Ron on, and Ronnie heading over to Mike to knock him out. This is the fight that blogs/sites reported on a while back that led to Mike being carried out on a stretcher!

And we will see it all go down next Jerzday!!!

Rihanna has released her official video for "Cheers (Drink To That)! Just in time for the weekend! I'll drink to that! The video features clips from her concerts, and Rihanna just having a good time in different places. The video also had cameos from Avril Lavigne, Cee-Lo Green, Kanye West, and Jay-Z!

This song is one of my favorites from Rihanna's fifth album, Loud. RiRi is the QUEEN when it comes to having good singles. Simply fact. The video went along well with the song. It's just an overall fun video, which is the theme of the song. Just have a good time, drink up, and enjoy life. Life's too short to be walking around miserable! Check out the video below!

I said I was going to do this post yesterday, but I didn't want to go on overload. Most people know Aaliyah for songs like "One in A Million," "Are You That Somebody," or "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number." All classic Aaliyah, but all are talked about year after year. So I wanted to share 5 of my favorite Aaliyah songs that aren't really heard as much. RIP Baby Girl.

Check the songs after the jump!

        No particular order...

        Are You Feelin' Me?

        "Those Were The Days"

        "Heartbroken"

        "I'm So Into You"

"Don't Know What To Tell Ya"

The video for Beyoncé's ballad 1+1 was released moments ago on E! News. It wasn't much. I think I get in trouble with music videos, because I always envision my own treatments and then the videos of course, are nothing like my vision ha! Like "Lose Control" by Keri Hilson. NOTHING like I wanted to see. I would've liked to see a love interest in this video, and a story line for the song. However, the visuals were still great, and Beyoncé looked HOT!!! She was singing straight to her love! Check out the video below!

It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since the tragic passing of Aaliyah. She had just wrapped on shooting what would be her final video, "Rock the Boat," in the Bahamas. The plane shortly after takeoff was seen veering to the left, and crashed to the ground moments later, taking the life of Aaliyah and eight others: Scott Gallin, Keith Wallace, Douglas Kratz, Eric Foreman, Gina Smith, Christopher Maldonado, Anthony Dodd, and the pilot, Luis Marael. A tragedy indeed. Rest in peace to all. I was only 10, but I remember finding out the next morning as I was getting ready for church. My mom had the news on the TV. "Singer Aaliyah Killed In Plane Crash." I was stunned. I had grown a liking to her music even then. It was devastating to hear.

10 years later, we are celebrating her legacy as a musician, and as an overall sweet person. No one in the industry ever categorized her as a typical R&B diva. She did her job, and did it with a smile. Her presence today is greatly missed.

I've decided to celebrate with some of my favorite songs/videos by the late great Aaliyah. Might not be all of the typical songs to choose from, but they're my top favorites. Check them out after the jump!

I was going to do 10 videos for her 10th year anniversary, but that was a LOT of space, so I did 7 for now (because I just could NOT cut these)I might put up some of my other less-known favorites later. But here's my top 7. Don't bash me if your favorite isn't up haha!

"Back and Forth" One of her first singles from her first album Age Ain't Nothing But A Number, this song was just about going out, partying with friends, and having a good time. I miss the 90's vibe.

"Journey To The Past" This song was from the 1997 animated film Anastasia, one of my favorite movies from childhood. It was an inspiring song that fit the plot of the movie.

"Got To Give It Up (Remix)" This video was always so fun to me. It's just a good party song. (I'm grooving in my seat as I type this!). It was a cover of Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up," and I think that she did a good job with it. The video even incorporated footage of Marvin Gaye like he was dancing with Aaliyah!

"The One I Gave My Heart To" This sad ballad was on constant repeat as I got some of my life's heartbreaks. Aaliyah poured out her soul on this track, and it has remained one of my favorites by her.

"One in A Million" There's no way this classic doesn't go on the list. It was a cool love ballad that was a fan favorite, and described Aaliyah to a tee--One in a Million.

"Try Again" LOVED THIS VIDEO! (Yes, all caps.) It featured martial arts expect/actor Jet Li, who co-starred with Aaliyah on the movie Romeo Must Die. This song was on the movie's soundtrack. Aaliyah showed off her daring side, pulling tricks and martial arts moves with Jet Li, while still looking amazing!

"Rock The Boat" Of course, I had to include her final video, "Rock The Boat." Shot in the Bahamas, this video has a great island vibe, and the costumes fit the scenery as well. And I was always impressed after hearing that Aaliyah was deathly afraid of water, and she still managed to pull of that underwater scene perfectly.

If you ask me, the MTV crew for the VMAs this Sunday need to be doing a tribute to her and not Britney Spears. Sigh...but who am I? Anyways, there will be a special tonight on BET celebrating Aaliyah's life, music, and legacy. Aaliyah: One In A Million, featuring family, friends, and those who worked with her, will air at 8 p.m. ET.

RIP Aaliyah. You are greatly missed.

What was your favorite song/memory of Aaliyah?

Just when I start to get over Lil Wayne, he pulls me back in again. His video for his new song "How To Love" premiered on MTV Jams actually yesterday, but I'm just seeing it now.  It definitely has a beautiful message, and the visuals work so well. I can't lie, I didn't expect a song like this from him. At all. It's great that he decided to switch things up. GOOD JOB WEEZY! ANDDDD one of my top 10 boos, Tristan Wilds from 90210 and The Wire, had a small cameo!!! Check out the video below!
