Afternoon yall! I'm happy to present this post! Although I honestly wasn't a Nicki Minaj fan when she first came out, I have learned to love her. Though I'm not a Barb by any means LOL I respect her style, flow, and creativity as an artist. So I was extremely looking forward to this video!!! "Right Thru Me" is honestly, to me, her best song yet. The video was so simple, yet amazing. It was nice to see Nicki as Onika of her Barbie persona. The song is so beautiful and honest. I need that in my life...Wahhh (Snooki voice) lol. Make sure you cop Pink Friday on November 22! I know I definitely will!

What do yall think? That male model is soooo sexy lol but the vid is simple, right? I like it. #TeamNicki

PEACE.

And now the vids!!!! Point blank period, Wale and B.o.B. are two of the hottest artists out right now. I pray that Wale gets the credit he deserves. He's mad underrated....we'll see with the next album. Check the vids!!! I apologize in advance for my yelling lol you can hear me loud and clear, and I'm yelling, not really singing. For the record, I got a little voice lol Also there's some shaking, and the vids are mostly sideways throughout. Recording wasn't really allowed, but I managed to get these by just acting like I was holding it while it was recording. Haha I just told on myself but whatevs! Just a little taste of what I experienced! Enjoy after the jump :-)

"Pretty Girls"-Wale

"No Hands"-Wale

"Nothing On You"-B.o.B.

Good morning everyone! A happy morning indeed! Even though it's Monday (blehhh), my life was made last night! I had the opportunity to go to see Wale and B.o.B at Towson University! How I go to Loyola and still managed to buy my ticket last night and get FRONT ROW CENTER?!!! I'm a blessed chick lol

These two dudes KILLED!!! Yall know that I'm in love with Wale, (he's really the main reason I even went) and have been for quite some time. That's my rapper husband right now lol (yall see him lookin dead at me in this pic??? lol) but I digress. Wale got the crowd mad hyped! Jumping off stage and into the crowd, doing the gogo swing! I was rocking for real! And he was legit doing a UStream from stage lol hope yall caught it! I was also really impressed with B.o.B. I don't listen to him like that, but his lyrics proved to me why I should. I could tell he has such a passion for music, and he's mad talented! Sings, raps, plays piano and guitar, and who knows what else! I still think that Wale should have been headliner instead of B.o.B. More of the fans knew Wale over B.o.B., but I know Towson picked B.o.B to headline cuz he's getting more attention and has more sales. He's good in my book though. Gonna sit and listen to his album tomorrow.  Anywaysss...here are some pics from the concert! Vids will come a little bit later! Don't wanna have too much in one post! Enjoy after the jump :-)

Some dude named PlayBoy Tre. Maybe I need to get up on my music, but I never hear of him til tonight. Did a song with B.o.B though. Sooooo country lol but a good rapper.
LOVE OF MY MUSIC LIFE---WALE!!!!! This fool jumped in the crowd, like 3, 4 times. Got us all mad hyped!!!!

<--Swear that's his arm right there. He jumped right in front of me, and everybody was pushing and shoving. Tried to snap a pic...this was the closest I got LOL

He is sexy to me. Maybe it's his insightful lyrics or that swag (played out term, but until someone comes up with something better, that's all I got) and accent that D.C. and PG dudes have that just makes me swoon! I love him :-) Made my day to see him, and so close!!!! He was so close to me, I was tempted to hug him, but I ain't wanna be that girl, that groupie you know? Haha

Full shot of B.o.B and his band on stage

B.o.B's shoes were madddd hot!!!!! Had to snap a pic lol

B.o.B is an amazing musician. There's a difference. To be able to sing or rap is an amazing gift. But to be able to play instruments along with that, is INCREDIBLE. Ok, I need to listen to him (and J. Cole #random but true).

Vids later!!!!

PEACE.

Hey yall! Kinda late night post, but here's the short film "Runaway" by Kanye West for those of you who missed it, or wanted to see it again! I'm doing work in the media lab, so I didn't catch it on MTV, but I'm about to watch it right after I post this! Just wanted yall to be able to see it. Critique later...maybe. I did listen to a bit of it, heard Miss Nicki Minaj's voice with her fake me out British accent haha! I love her though!

Random fact. Kanye's album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (check the interesting artwork to your left) and Nicki's Pink Friday hits stores the same day now! I didn't know Nicki changed the date on us! Interesting for two of the most highly anticipated albums to be released simultaneously. Anywaysss watch the short movie below and enjoy! Oh, and for those of you, seeking clarification, check this link!

PEACE.

Hey hey yall! Hope all is well. Here's the newest video from Canadian R&B singer Keshia Chante for her single "Test Drive" off her upcoming double-disc album Night and Day.  I really like her voice! The song talks about the importance of test-driving a new relationship to make sure you make a right decision, according to SingersRoom. "That'd get us through the part when you first meet someone you like and all you can see is the glitter before you find out who they really are," she said in an interview with Sway magazine.

I really like her voice! She's a good singer...I'm also waiting on this Aaliyah (RIP) movie that she is supposedly starring in! She does look a bit like her, can't deny. Can't think of any other singer/actress to play her. Anyways...check out the video below!

Even though Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has recently been kicked off of Dancing with the Stars, he's still making his money. With the season finale of Jersey Shore coming up on Thursday, and a third season on the way, as well as club appearances, and THIS BOOK, can't knock Situation's hustle! Here's his cover for his upcoming book Here's the Situation: A Guide to Creeping on Chicks, Avoiding Grenades, and Getting in Your GTL on the Jersey Shore! The book is due on November 2nd.
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, also from the Shore, will be releasing a book as well, tentatively called A Shore Thing. The book, due in January, is about a girl looking (or snooking I guess) for love at the Shore. Wonder how many guidos/guidettes or wannabes will buy...Oooh that was the perfect place to say something about my school, but I will leave it alone LOL I really do love Loyola!

Hey hey! Got a spotlight for you all! Been getting several artists wanting a blog post, so just wanna put it out there again. Any singers, rappers, dancers, labels, whatever, if you would like a post on Spotlight, feel free to contact me on Twitter (ADD ME!!)or email me at inthespotlight1@live.com! I'm open to all genres!!!

Today I have the opportunity to present NOVA! Nova was born Rashaun Lovitt and is from southside Jamaica Queens. During his early childhood Nova spent a great deal of time with his grandmother who mostly listened to Motown greats such The Temptations, The Manhattans, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and Rick James, but it wasn’t until the age of 8 that he began listening to hip hop. Nova started rapping for fun at 13, after getting inspiration from his cousin, Christopher “Blitz” Middleton. He began taking his skills seriously at around 16 and is now actively pursuing a career in music.

With Blitz and two other members, Nova formed a group named The Fully Loaded Assassins. The group didn't last long, Nova admitted, due to the members' inexperience and young age, as well as not taking the music seriously. However, Nova kept on rapping and did some collabos with Blitz, and began recording his own music at 17. He released his first mixtape under his label Team Blaze Entertainment, Any Questions in June 2007. Earlier this year, Nova came out with his second mixtape, Just Practicing Vol. 1. (Both mixtapes can be downloaded at Nova's website) He is presently working on the sequel to Just Practicing, which is Nova's hoping to release by the holidays. He is trying to get a joint venture for Team Blaze Ent. with a major label.

Nova named family and friends at his greatest inspirations, but shouted out his girlfriend as the one who inspired her the most to keep going after his dream of music. "[She]has inspired me the most for going after her dream in medicine," he admitted. The 23-year-old rapper has big dreams for his career. "As an artist I'm going to always aspire to sell like Eminem and have Jay-z money but I'm happy if I put an album out and people that don't know me personally want it and buy it," he said.

When asked what keeps him going in pursuit of a career in music, Nova said, "Honestly it's my mindset. I don't like to lose or fail and having a good supporting cast around me always helps." Definitely a rapper with great potential! Yall can catch up with Nova on his Twitter, as well as learn more about him and download his mixtapes on his website! Listen to a few of his tracks below!

"Foolish Lil Girl" (from Just Practicing Vol. 1)

"It's Ya Boy" (from Any Questions Vol. 1)

Courtesy of ALi's Blog, here's the official video of "Whip My Hair" by Miss Willow Smith! (Thanks to Mr. CG Wacko for posting this on FB)I love this girl! Even though her style choices are sometimes....ehhh...I admire her creativity. For a nine year old, she already has a developed style and attitude. I love her voice! I see her going far. ROC NATION! KILL IT MAMA! Check out the video below!!!

PEACE.

Morning everyone! Another start of a busy week. Hopefully the weekend gets here fast. It hit me this past weekend that I didn't report (not like you didn't already know lol) on two of the biggest events to take place this weekend. I was on Fall Break, and when I break, I break! So I didn't get to congratulate Miss Alicia and Swizzy on their baby boy Egypt (why that name, I don't know) who was born Thursday. Alicia tweeted, "There is no word to properly describe LOVE, to describe BLISS, to express a FEELING like this!!! Thank U 4 your love, support and prayers!" Congrats guys! Hope to see pics soon!

Another big piece of news is that T.I. is, as we figured, headed back to jail for 11 months after his arrest for suspicion of drug possession. SMH!!!! I'm so mad at him. You just got out, you're on probation, and now you're leaving your fans again, and your fam and label. At least, we will have a new album this time around. Maybe. No telling when it will be released. The date keeps changing =/ Tip, please get your life together. No more of this prison foolishness!

But back to the topic of this post haha...According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Tyra Banks is being sued for $3 million! Apparently, in 2009, Tyra had a guest sex addict, who was 15 years old at the time, appear on her show, without the mother's consent. The daughter had responded to an open call on the show, and managed to get on. Got an expense paid trip to NY and everything, and the episode was released before the mom even knew what was going on.

The mother, Beverly McClendon, claims in the suit that, "this show was undoubtedly watched by sexual deviants, perverts and pedophiles alike." The suit was filed in federal court last week. McClendon's complaint claims the teen's right to privacy was violated. She is also seeking an injunction against any future airings of the program, which still appears in repeats on the CW network.

My opinion? Ummm lady, first off, how did you not know that your daughter flew all the way to New York from ATL?!! People need to keep better tabs of their kids. I understand what she is saying though. The show was irresponsible. The daughter probably did have to sign some sort of release, with the parent's signature on it that she probably forged. However, she is a minor. If she was going to appear on the show, she should have been required to have a parent or guardian with her, which doesn't seem to be the case. So, honestly, I have to agree with the suit. The producers should have been more careful with an issue like this. In media, with any type of event or show, any pictures or video released of kids HAVE to have parental consent. That's a given. And apparently, the child was paid for her appearance, which brings labor laws into play. So it's this huge mess of a suit, but, to me, it's one that this woman may just win. Sorry Tyra.

PEACE.

Haha I never watch the BET Hip Hop Awards, but I heard that Antoine Dodson did a bit of the "Bed Intruder Song" at the show! BET really put him on there LMAO! Check the clip below!

I wish he would've done the whole thing! That song is mad catchy lol. I'm not ashamed to say that I have that single in my iPod. WE GON FIIIIIND YOU! WE GON FIND YOU! SO YOU CAN RUN AND TELL THAT! RUN AND TELL THAT! RUN AND TELL THAT HOMEBOY! HOME-HOME-HOMEBOY!!! LOL That song is a hit!!! Hear the full version below!

PEACE.

This upcoming season of The Game is definitely highly anticipated by fans! After getting canceled by The CW in 2009 after the third season, the show will return to BET in January!!! TOO EXCITED! Courtesy of The YBF, here are some pics of the cast at their filming.

Tia looks AMAZING!!! She's not wearing her wedding ring from Derwin though...Might be reading too much into it LOL but Melanie and Derwin are married now, so she should be rocking a huge diamond on the show. And notice that Hosea has this huge bruise on his face. Did Malik get hurt in a game, or get knocked out? Idk....All I know is that I'm hella excited for this upcoming season! I MISSED THIS SHOW SOOOO MUCH!!!! The cast looks good....I'm excited to see what's in store.

PEACE.

Morning people! Beautiful Tuesday in Bmore...looking forward to a rainy yet more beautiful day back in Prince George's County, Maryland Thursday! Headed home for Fall Break...need to get away from Loyola and Baltimore and get my head straight lol. This morning, I have another spotlight on an upcoming artist for you all. They have been rolling in on Twitter! Today, I got Sinz.

Born Billy Dunn, Sinz is a rising rapper from the U.K. (yes, I'm international yall LOL jk). The 24 year old rapper started writing in 2002, and thought that he might have a true talent for writing. "I was writing everyday, in class, during recess as you Americans like to call it (haha), at any chance I could get." Sinz said. In 2005, he started recording. Since then, he has grown as a writer, and gets love from his area, as well as overseas. His local tourist spot, Hastings, has different people his age into the whole hip hop scene. He is presently #1 on his local ReverbNation charts. Read more about Sinz after the jump!

Sinz realizes that it's hard for a U.K artist to break into the U.S., when you have artists like Usher, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, BeyoncĂ©, etc. to contend with, but he's up for the challenge. "Jay Sean [did] it, so hopefully more [U.K. artists] can too," he said.  Sinz says that his biggest inspiration as he pursues his dream is his three-year-old daughter Daisie (Aww moment!) "I love her with all my heart," he said. "[She] is why I do this."

When asked what makes him different from other artists out now, Sinz said, "I'm fresh and very lyrical. I bring a air of fresh air, and like people to relate to go through what I've been through." What I like about Sinz is that he's real. He let me know that he doesn't talk about things he has no idea about. "I don't talk about poppin' guns and drugs. Why? I haven't been around that, so I don't mention it. I just write and record about what I'm feeling or going thru at the time." Keep it real. Stick to what you know. I like that.

Currently, Sinz is not signed to a label. He would prefer to be an indie artist, but he realizes that it's difficult in terms of funding. "It's very, very hard where I'm from, to be successful on your own back. So major backing would be a option. But only if the terms was right, and [I'm] not 'selling my soul,'" Sinz said. As far as projects, he is working on a few collaborations coming up with U.K. and U.S. based unsigned artists, and is currently working on his fourth LP. "My first LP/mixtape was CRAP," he laughed. "My fourth one, I have a bit more faith in." Sinz actively pursues his career in hip hop, because he loves the music, and of course, because of his daughter :-) You can get in touch with Sinz on Twitter, and listen to more of his music on MySpace and ReverbNation. Listen to some of Sinz' songs below!

"Down For Me"

"End of the Moment"

Hey yall. Happy Monday. =/ I say that with all sarcasm. I told my followers on Twitter that the phrase coined by my love Wale, "NO DAYS OFF" took on a whole new meaning this year. It's no longer just a motto, it's a dead requirement. Else with everything I have to do, my life will be screwed. No days off! Yayyyyy! LOL

But anyways back to the post. I saw this news last night flash across the screen when I was watching E! during my workout. Apparently, Justin Bieber is releasing a nail polish! Yes another thing for the girls (and possibly guys, can't count them out lol) to flock after. According to OMG! Yahoo, Justin is releasing a line of nail polishes, called the One Less Lonely Girl collection, based off his hit single of the same name. Love that song btw. Polish colors, which are also named after his songs, include: One Less Lonely Glitter (lavender), Prized Possession Purple (grape), Give Me The First Dance (silver), Me + Blue (dark blue), OMB! (bright red), and Step 2 the Beat of My Heart (heart-shaped glitter).

Wow. I never heard of a male singer releasing a nail polish collection LOL This is interesting. Anything to please the fans, I guess. Oh, and did yall know that he was from Canada? Cuz I read that, and had no idea. But then again I'm not a Justin Bieber stan so I guess I wouldn't.

PEACE.

Hey hey yall! Happy Saturday...Sorry for the MIA status. This week was busy, and the times when I didn't have anything to do, I just passed out on my living room couch lol I wanted to share this video with yall. It's not celeb related but it is a music video dedicated to my college, Loyola University Maryland. Taken from "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, a kid at my school named Eloy hooked up with this artist from Bmore named Bridget Linsenmeyer to create "Loyola State of Mind" LOL It was a cool video. Some people complained about them not having minority students in it, which I wish they would have done to show that there are different ethnicities at Loyola. But I'm not surprised though. Loyola is a PWI (predominantly white institution). I've learned to deal. The makers of this video not having students of color isn't the focus for me. The song is. Which I really like! So shout out to this guy Eloy for making this! I think it's cool. I need to meet this guy LOL Anybody know him tell him Brittany said hey, and wants to do a little interview LOL GO GREYHOUNDS!

PEACE.

"Just like you, I get lonely too." Drake has dropped the first track from his upcoming R&B (yes R&B) mixtape It's Never Enough. Real chill R&B record. I love Drake's voice. I mean, he's no Usher or Ginuwine lol but he can still hold a note. His music makes me smile :) Listen to "I Get Lonely" below!

Morning all! Hope all is well. Here's some new Kardashian news that I'm sure my girl Gigi will love! LOL

Watch out NY! Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are coming through! The new series Kim and Kourtney Take New York will premiere in January 2011 on E!, E! Online reports. Kourtney's douchebag boyfried Scott Disick (yes I said it) and her cute son Mason will be joining them. "Mason, Kim, Scott [Disick] and I arrived in NYC," Kourtney confirmed on her blog today. "So excited for some fall in the Big Apple. No better place...Are you ready, NYC?"

Khloe's hanging back in LA to be with her hubby Lamar. The other two Kardashian ladies will be focusing on opening the third location of their store Dash. And of course, there should be drama. Hell, with Scott along for the ride, I'm sure there will be. LOL I've gotten more and more into this show over the years. So I'm excited for the premiere! Will you watch???

PEACE.

Morning yall! Hope all is well with you guys! Starting this morning out with a new video from the amazing Chris Brown! Here is "Matrix." Definitely gonna be a hit! It has that rocker vibe, which I would connect back to another particular artist but I will let that go lol. The video is very action packed and features Chris handling some hooded goons, which turn out to be paparazzi. Watch the video below!

Afternoon people! GUESS WHAT TODAY IS?!! Haha I'm officially 2-0! HAPPY BDAY TO ME! Out of the teens....it's crazy how fast time passes. Definitely grateful to God for these past 20 years. Even though things haven't always been easy, I still have had amazing opportunities and wonderful blessings. I have God, my fam and friends, my health, music, two years under my belt for this B.A. degree, and this blog, so I'm happy.

Ok, so back to my job lol. I had the opportunity of tweeting with Anthony Glover, founder CEO of an upcoming label, Concrete Entertainment. Don't knock the Twitter haha, MAJOR NETWORKING GOING ON! Concrete Entertainment is based out of Dallas, and focus on artist development, event planning, promotions and artist management. The label is looking for unsigned talent that's ready to GRIND! Read more about Concrete Ent. after the jump!

Anthony came up with the name "Concrete" because he only wants to deal with solid people (UNDERSTOOD). "I wanted the hottest talent around me. I wanted the best, the cream of the crop." After living in Atlanta and working with his friend Lee and meeting some artists in the industry, Anthony realized that this was what he was meant to do. His friend Tezamah works along with him as the president of Concrete. "[He's] a very sharp individual that knows the business and is very dedicated to making sure that things are done and taken care of when needed," Anthony said.

Concrete is open to all genres, not just hip hop or R&B. "If I could find a country singer right now, I would say let’s run with it. I love music and in this business in order to be successful you have to open yourself to the many changes that are going on today," Anthony explained. Completely true. I personally have started opening up to different genres of music, and different types of movies, shows, etc. The entertainment industry is too broad to just stay focused on one little piece, and you could really miss out on the next big thing.

Currently Concrete has no artists on the roster, which Anthony attributes to his own choices and too much generosity when he first started out with the label. However, he has faith that Concrete will grow into a concrete (excuse the pun lol) label, filled with success and longevity. "Anyone can get out of the starting blocks fast, but do you have what it takes to finish the race?" said Anthony. "I believe that if this wasn’t meant for me, then God wouldn’t have allowed me to endure all of the trials that I have so far. I would have given up and, of course, I am still standing." He is currently working on getting solid artists on the label, and obtain an imprint deal with a major record company and take off from there.

Concrete offers comprehensive artist development packages consisting of a three song demo written and produced by talented writers and producers. The label charges $1,500- $4,000 with a payment plan option avaiable with montly exspenses ranging between 500-1,000 a month. Concrete has two forms of services for clients, internal and external. Internal services offers the artist a contract and representation by Concrete Entertainment with discounted prices, priority bookings, management and gigs. External clients have access to the services as well; however all costs will need to be paid up front with an additional consulting fee added. There is no management provided and clients receive secondary bookings and gigs. Anthony and Concrete have good relationships with different A&R representatives, as well as DJs and producers, and can definitely take you to the next level!

If you or anyone you know are interested in becoming an artist under Concrete Entertainment, and would like more information on the label, please send press kits along with any social networking sites information to concreteentertainmentmusic@gmail.com. You can follow Anthony and Concrete Ent. on Twitter, too!

This is quite a venture. It's nice to see people grinding to make their dreams reality, and trying to help other people accomplish their goals as well. Best wishes on the label, Anthony! Definitely can't wait to see where Concrete goes!

PEACE.
