I'm so excited that Wale has officially released his video for "The White Shoes," the latest song off his upcoming album, The Album About Nothing!

Before you believe that this song is about materialism and copping white shoes, really listen to the message that Wale gives in the song. In the visual, we see a young boy in DC saving up for a nice pair of white shoes, but his joy in the shoes is, unfortunately, short-lived. "The White Shoes" symbolizes finding happiness in spite of those who may judge or look down on you.

Wale also included a group of moonz from the DMV (I had a previous appointment or I definitely would've been there!), which shows the love he has for us! I was able to get my pre-orders of the album a little ahead of time, and let me tell you, this is a very special project! Wale definitely gave his heart on this one.

Check out the video for "The White Shoes" below!

On Friday, March 20, I headed back to my alma mater, Loyola University Maryland, for the 17th annual BSA Fashion Show: Mystique! Having a slew of student volunteers, models, scene assistants and directors, as well as gaining support and clothing from a variety of retail stores and local brands, it literally takes months on end to get this show together (I know because I modeled as well *wink*). It's a HUGE event for Loyola, with students, staff, alumni, and other members of the Baltimore community and beyond coming out to support!

Directed by Loyola seniors Wah-De Dennis and Tiaira Walker, the show had amazing clothes and transitions for the audience to enjoy. Clothing was provided from Gap, The Strut Truck, Party Dress, Christopher Schafer, Brooks Brothers, Tin Lizzy, Double Dutch Boutique, Francesca's and Southern Proper. Hair and makeup was also provided by Roshé Cosmetics. There was even a special part of the show that integrated fashion and spoken word, featuring designs from a current Loyola senior I modeled with before, Abigail Lordson-Banini and her own clothing brand, House of Afi! I'm hoping to feature her and her designs on the blog soon!

Definitely one of the best shows that Loyola has put on! I really enjoyed myself, and got to catch up with a few staff members, alum and students, which is always nice. Check out pictures and video from the show below!

Last night was an intense finale for Battle of the Exes II! Picking up from last week, three couples remain: Sarah & Jordan, Jay & Jenna, and Leroy & Theresa. For the first checkpoint, "Kayak the Fjord," the helicopters take them a some yards out from their kayaks to swim to short. The great swimmers that they are, Jordan and Sarah take off and get to their kayak first, getting a great lead. Surprisingly, Jay and Jenna do well and However, Leroy and Theresa struggle swimming, particularly Leroy. When they get to their kayak, they also struggle to actually go anywhere down the fjord, and Theresa panics and goes off on him.

Getting to the end of the fjord first, Jordan and Sarah change into their team uniforms and run up the  path to "Mind Games." The goal is to unscramble a five word sentence using rocks with letters on them. Sarah is a natural puzzle solver, so, of course, they kill it quickly. Meanwhile the other teams make it to shore, with Jay & Jenna in second and Leroy & Theresa in third. Of course, Leroy and Theresa pass Jenna and Jay, because Jenna would rather walk. She's been very nonchalant this entire challenge, and, honestly, I don't want to see her on any more challenge. After Leroy and Theresa solve their puzzle, and forget to flip it over, Jay and Jenna don't even think to look at their answer! No wait, Jay asks Jenna if she thinks they can, but they both just stand there puzzled.

The next checkpoint is "Don't Flip Your Lid," which is basically a game of Flip Cup. After first drinking a cup of this fishy mystery drink, the goal is to flip a lid over a row of cups. You get three flips to get the lid on the cup, or you have to drink whatever the hell that is. Jordan and Sarah end up having to drink a lot,  but manage to get through. Theresa and Leroy struggle as well. Meanwhile, back at the puzzle, Jay and Jenna reach the time limit and get to go through. It's clear that this is not for them AT ALL.

When they finally reach the Flip Cup phase,  Jay and Jenna struggle terribly. They aren't the type to physically stand eating or drinking anything disgusting, and now they don't even know if they're even going to stay in the game. TJ eventually comes to them, stating that if they don't get it done, they're out. Jay even starts crying, frustrated at the situation, and T.J. calls them both out on how ridiculous they are. This is a part of the game, and they haven't been able to do anything. Jay and Jenna decide to leave, and get nothing after all that. So much for proving that they weren't an easy layup. I can't deal with them. Neither of them were mentally or physically prepared for this game in my opinion, and I really don't want to see them on any more challenges.

Before the next checkpoint, the teams are told to pick up five rocks and carry them to the next checkpoint. Jordan and Sarah reach "Get Your Rocks Off" first. The goal is to throw and land five rocks in a well. The catch is that everyone has to consume a tube of caviar before throwing! If they don't make their five, they have to go back down the hill to get more rocks and throw again.  throw get more. It's disgusting to watch everyone eat that caviar and throw up. While Leroy and Thereas catch up to them here, Sarah and Jordan are still in a decent lead. The two reach the time limit for this checkpoint, but are able to move on.

The next checkpoint is "Bike Ride," which isn't the easiest with the hills, but it's much better than running. Sarah and Jordan still have a good lead over Theresa and Leroy, getting to the rest stop before the climb to the top of Mt. Slogan. At the rest stop, there are two options for the teams, They either get to rest on a small bed on top of each other away from the fire, or have to stand up by the fire. As they try to warm themselves up, they reflect on how they've both been told that they couldn't do these challenges, and look where they are now! For both of them, this is about more about proving themselves. A while later, Theresa and Leroy catch up. Everyone comments on how they haven't seen Jay and Jenna. Theresa and Leroy also get into a heated discussion about the game and how he needs to learn to play or get played. Leroy believes that this game can be played fairly, but I think he's a little delusional on that. The conversations eventually stop as the teams struggle to stay warm and rest. They are on a mountain, so the later it gets, the colder it gets. It's so cold outside, they are shaking. I felt terrible for them. The producers could've at least given them better coats or something! But this is the Final so they have to suck it up.

The next morning, T.J. announces that Jay and Jenna didn't make it. Everyone already figured they wouldn't. Today, the teams will scale Mt. Slogan, which is literally a mile climbing straight up this rugged mountain. Since Jordan and Sarah won for the day before, they get a five minute lead. That's nothing honestly, but they have to use it to the best of their ability. The climb looks dangerous and scary, plus draining, and it definitely wears everyone down. It really is basically who wants it more.

The entire climb was literally neck and neck, but Jordan and Sarah make it to the top first, winning $250,000!!!!! Leroy and Theresa earn $70,000 to split, which isn't too shabby, though I know how bad Leroy wanted to win. I was very happy for Jordan and Sarah, though. Sarah especially. She has been going at this for so long, and has gotten the short end of the stick quite a few times with having bad partner luck. She made some big power moves, that seems to still have a bad effect on some friendships, but I'm proud that she learned to play for herself and put the nice side away for a second. Behind Nany and Bananas, this was definitely the team I wanted to win!

What did you think of the season finale of Battle of the Exes II?

If you haven't been watching Being Mary Jane, you are missing out! Picking up from last week, Mary Jane gets a call from Sheldon as she makes dinner. He called to talk about their future. They talk about a lot of random things, but actually seem to be getting along well. All the while Mary Jane is making a list of pros and cons, which is pretty even. For one topic of conversation, Sheldon audaciously asks her if she's barren, which puts a crazy halt on the conversation. However, he compliments her on being brave enough to put her story out there like that. She feels stupid, but that's the last thing that he thinks she is. They literally talk half the night about any and everything. Sheldon is intrigued by her because she's bold enough to challenge him, which no one ever really does. He asks her to dinner, which she agrees to. They finally hang up, both happy.

The next day, before MJ leaves for work, she goes over to see Mark. He is a complete mess, revealing that Eric's gone for good. He hoped that they would work things out, but Eric left a message saying that he met someone else and is moving to London (very random!). They also are raising the other guy's kid together. It may not even be true, but it hurts Mark regardless, and has him thinking that Eric may have cheated on him. I think he's more so mourning of what could've been in terms of a stable relationship. Mary Jane manages to comfort him, and get him up to get ready for work.

Meanwhile, Patrick goes to see his other daughter Daysha, who apparently was left home by herself all night. Her mother Tracy is nowhere to be found, and this isn't the first time it's happened. When Patrick's car breaks down, he calls Mary Jane for her AAA service. He also asks for the number to a private investigator to find out what happened to Tracy. MJ warns him that it will be expensive, but he plans to take care of it regardless.

At work,  Kara gets a text in the production booth from John who wants more money for their sons. He can't afford to come out of pocket any more for their private school. She tells them that maybe their sons should go to public school instead, which he refuses, upsetting Kara. At that moment, there is news of a middle school shooting near Richmond, VA, and everything in the station changes. Mark breaks the news, revealing that the shooter barged past security and has been presumably shot dead. However, there are other victims as well. It's very reminiscent of the tragic Sandy Hook shooting in 2012. It was very upsetting and had everyone on edge. In fact, as Patrick sits in his car and waits for Daysha to finish school for the day, a cop comes over to him and asks for his license and registration. Patrick gets upset, but the cop lets him go, basically telling him to move.

Back at the station, MJ had planned to interview one of the parents waiting for her daughter to come out of the school. The mother had received a text from the daughter that she was fine, but then receives news that her daughter is indeed dead. Kara and the others in the production room watch her get the heartbreaking news off air.  It's absolutely terrible to watch. After receiving that news, MJ calls Patrick about Tracy, and Patrick reveals that Daysha has apparently spent a few nights alone before this. Shortly after, Mary Jane gets a call from Sheldon about a party he's having. Nothing fancy, just drinks and conversation. MJ goes off on him because he didn't call her all day and now she gets this last minute invite. She quickly apologizes, knowing that she's really just thrown from the hectic and draining day.

Kara calls John to talk to her kids after all of this. As a mom, she's thrown too. In the wake of all this, they both realize that their fighting is dumb, and agree to keep the kids home from school for their peace of mind. She then calls Gael to go out and spend time together to feel better. Meanwhile, Mark calls Eric and leaves a message, wishing him nothing but the best.

On her date with Gael, Kara is depressed by the movie they saw at the Latin Fest. Gael feels like she uses irony and humor as a defensive shield, afraid to really reveal more about herself. At that moment, Kara breaks down about her kids, and feeling like she doesn't know what her own purpose in life is, while everyone else does. She's been questioning everything after the shooting, and this is the most open she's ever been, at least that I've seen.

At home, Mary Jane calls Mark for company to Sheldon's party, which is very classy. Mary Jane and Mark both have a good time drinking and chatting with Sheldon's friends. Mark even meets a guy at the party, and starts to flirt a little. Sheldon and MJ sit down and chat. He's very flirtatious, but Mary Jane doesn't want to rush into anything. However, Sheldon plans to be patient and take his time in developing a solid relationship with her.

At the end of the episode, while Patrick and Daysha eat cake, he gets a text back from the PI with the expensive cost estimate to look into Tracy's disappearance. Meanwhile, Gael and Kara have sex, and so does Mark with his mystery guy! Meanwhile, MJ goes home and talks with Sheldon. She had a really great time, and is looking forward to "the next time." They both attempt to hang up, but don't, yet again having conversation all night about nothing and everything! It was so cute. I really like them together!

The Challenge: Battle of the Exes 2 is almost over yall! Picking up from last week and Sarah's HUGE power move, Jordan tries to calm her down, but he honestly wishes that it would've went differently. Sarah, being the nice girl that she is, is so distraught. She did what she had to do though! Turns out that the teams are staying in a hotel for the night in Panama City. When they get settled a bit, Nia goes off on Sarah and Jordan, and even pulls Jordan's pants down and calls him the "f" word (I refuse to tolerate that here even with symbols). It's ridiculous. Johnny goes off on Sarah too, feeling betrayed, as does Nany, but it's all ridiculous. The goal is to WIN MONEY. If she doesn't look out for her and Jordan, who will?!

Later, the teams get a clue from T.J. saying: "I hope you like the suite. I left you something in the minibar. Check it out!" Turns out they all have plane tickets to NORWAY! After an 18-hour plane ride, they get to their cute suite in Norway, where they have dinner and wine. It's clear from the conversation about the Final that Jay and Jenna aren't ready for this...and that's why Sarah and Jordan kept them there. However, Jay is determined to prove that they are not the lame team everyone thinks they are.

The next day, the teams go out and enjoy Norway, and Jordan and Sarah are separated from everyone. That night, they all make fun of Sarah, Nia especially. Jordan sticks up for her, saying that Nia can't talk AT ALL when she quits/doesn't complete challenges all the time. I had to agree with him there. Nia keeps talking about how she and Leroy have won three Domes, but maybe just maybe they wouldn't have even been there if they made any real impact during the actual game. At the end of the day, she and Leroy have to go in, period. Again, Nia calls him the "f" word, and is just being really derogatory towards them both. And apparently "nothing she says is going to turn the gay community against her." Her words.

T.J. comes in later, and tells Nia to get her stuff and come with him. They don't know if it's part of the elimination or not, but after a sign came up about dealing with insults as a part of the LGBT community, I had a feeling that she was gone for good. Meanwhile, the rest of the house goes out where Johnny is acting a bitter, salty jerk, venting about Sarah. He also talks to Leroy about the elimination, and Nia being gone. Leroy finds it very awkward without her there. When she gets drunk with Jenna, Nany wakes up hungover the next morning, and Johnny tells her that they need to keep their head in the game.

T.J. texts everyone later in the day, and tells them that the elimination will happen the next morning. However, Leroy doesn't have his partner still! At the elimination, T.J. announces that Nia crossed the line with Jordan, and she's out of the game. Of course. I didn't feel bad for her at all. This is how she acts. This is how she is. When someone shows you who they are, BELIEVE THEM. Normally, Leroy would be going home too since he doesn't have a teammate, but T.J. reveals that he has another ex that can compete, and it's THERESA. Oh goodness. Yes, Theresa is a strong competitor, but I still don't like her at all, and I'm not happy to see her back. However, it was nice of the crew to still let Leroy compete, especially since he made it that far.

Leroy & Theresa and Bananas & Nany face off in "X-Battle." The goal is simple: get the X-shaped bar away from your opponent. First team to two points will win. In the guys' heat, Johnny quickly gets severe pain in his chest. Though he keeps going hard, Leroy wins the round. In the girls' heat, though. Nany comes out in a rage against Theresa, and is just yanking her around like a doll. Theresa ends up continually fighting dirty, kicking Nany in her face, but Nany keeps fighting. Theresa manages to win, though, sending Bananas and Nany home. At that point, even though they were my go to team from the beginning, I really didn't like how they acted over being sent in. I wasn't too upset at them leaving. I've been watching these Challenges since Battle of the Sexes in 2003, and I've seen Johnny win FIVE out of the 10 challenges he's been on. That's a lot of money. He can let someone else win. Maybe it shouldn't have went down like it did, but, again, Sarah and Jordan played their game. The way Johnny acted (and is still acting based on social media) is stupid and childish. Anyway, they're gone, and I'm rooting for Sarah and Jordan. Afterwards, T.J tells the rest of the competitors that the next time he sees them will be at the final.

Back at the hotel, they get a clue telling them that tomorrow morning will start the Final! The next day, T.J. tells them the legend of trolls in Norway, who made people do tasks to get by at certain checkpoints. The teams will be doing the same, all to make it up Mount Slogan, one of the most difficult mountain climbs in the world! The winners will receive $250,000 to split, while the second place team will receive $70,000, and the third place team gets $30,000. However, you must finish in order to get any money at all. At the end of the episode, the teams begin the first phase of the Final. They will be taking helicopters to get to the Geriagnerjford in the country. They will have to jump out of the helicopter, swim to a kayak, and paddle 10 miles. Jordan and Sarah pick the order for the teams to go since they were Power Couple last, picking themselves to go first, Jay & Jenna second, and Leroy & Theresa last. We then see the helicopters take off, and the race is on! I'm so excited to see this Final!

Recaps on Being Mary Jane and The Challenge: Battle of the Exes 2 are a little late, but I still wanted to be sure I got them up. I have a lot to say as always! Picking up from last week's episode of BMJ, Mary Jane wakes up after having sex with David...and decides to clean house. Literally. David hears her vacuuming and heads out to the living room, where Mary Jane reveals she prayed for forgiveness for her selfish decision to sleep with him. She also made a deal with God that if she is actually pregnant, she will figure out how they (her, David, Anna, and the babies!) will all live together in peace. If she's not, their relationship is over. Which is absolutely crazy, but this MJ we're talking about so, of course, she would make a decision like this. David asks her if it's revenge, but to her, it's not. She's been rebounding and making crazy decisions over him, and feels like she needs to move on with or without him. This pisses David off, because now he has to wait on a decision from her about their relationship status based on a pregnancy test.

Before work, MJ plays music and pulls out all her alcohol, cleaning house! She also takes a pregnancy test, but is not pregnant...at least for this test. At work, Mary Jane talks to Dr. Joy on air about the One Year Rule, waiting for a year before dating again after a break up or loss of spouse. Dr. Joy also discusses the Johari Window, which interests Mary Jane. It takes a person through four quadrants of looking at who he is and who he'd like to be. The first window is the open area, what others know about you. The second is the blind area, which are things that people say about us that we refuse to accept. The third is the hidden area, which are things that we are unwilling to share with others. The fourth is the unknown area, things unknown to you and others. Mary Jane is going to do this herself, and definitely needs to!

Meanwhile, David vents to Valerie's husband Chris about Mary Jane, and begins to complain about black women in general. However, Chris is upfront with him, telling him that this issue isn't Mary Jane being black. Both she and David are to blame for the childish games they play with each other, even before the news of the baby. David admits that he wasn't the best communicator but he didn't lie to her once. Yet and still, if he loved Mary Jane as much as he claimed, he should've done better. They both should've done better. They're too old for this.

That night, MJ takes another pregnancy test, but is still not pregnant (I guess the hormones were
supposed to work very quickly?). Later, she goes over to see Niecy, who is very sarcastic with her because of their fight. MJ looks at Niecy's outfit, and tells Niecy that she should go out like that. Granted it is a tight leopard outfit, so that was warrented, but Niecy is not trying to hear anything Mary Jane says anymore. Surprisingly, Niecy stays calm, but tells her aunt upfront that she feels free from dealing with MJ's constant judgement and doesn't care what MJ thinks anymore. Again, Mary Jane apologizes before leaving and tries to do better.

At work the next day, Kara and MJ have a meeting with some of the writing staff, with Kara wanting to  hear new, creative pitches. After hearing some ideas, however, Mary Jane walks out in the middle of the meeting and goes back to her office. When Kara walks in wondering what the world happened, Mary Jane feels like they do what everyone else does, and Talk Back always was supposed to be different. She feels like she never got what she wanted for the show, and is still upset about the egg freezing story and the focus group. If this is indeed the end for Mary Jane and her show, she wants to go down on her own terms. She was wrong to walk out out the meeting, but she wants the "Talk Back" segment of her show to focus on black stories that don't get heard. I actually hope she is able to, but will she be able to convince her boss and the network?

After talking with Kara, MJ calls Nichelle, who she had a big fight with some weeks before, but gets ignored. She leaves a message hoping to leave things behind them and talk business as well. She wants to better brand herself, and hopefully get a plan together, believing that Nichelle can assist since that's her niche. However, I'm really thinking that Nichelle won't be doing this. However, later, Mary Jane works through her own Johari Window some more, and leaves Nichelle another voicemail, wanting to offer "the truth." She led Nichelle to believe the job was her, but MJ admits to looking at other people as well for the jobs. She also states that they're not really friends, and that there is no loss on either side with the end of their relationship. Though I personally would've been a little pissed to get voicemails like that, I respect Mary Jane for finally being honest with Nichelle and herself.

At work, Mary Jane and Kara talk with Greg about MJ's new idea, which Greg calls "Talk Black." He senses a problem with her, which is true, but Mary Jane plays it cool. She calmly states that she wants to take more control over the show, which Greg plans to take this up to upper management. MJ says firmly that she has the last word on her segment. Kara tries to spin this nicely with stats about the great black stories they've done in the past, but Greg is obviously hesistant, just stating that everything, including contracts, will be reviewed soon.

Later in the day, Valerie comes over to see Mary Jane. She's worried about MJ's whole plan to get
pregnant by David, but Mary Jane reveals she's not pregnant. She's also not fine, but she will be. MJ has made a list of all the relationships she needs to repair, trying to clean up her life. She also claims to be done with David, but hasn't told him she's not pregnant, which Valerie scolds her for. MJ then just texts him that she's not pregnant to "close the door" between them. Valerie sees that as foul, but Mary Jane doesn't want to fight with him or "process" something that's clearly not going to work out anyway. She is hurt and angry, but refuses to cry about it. In fact, she's run out of tears.

At the time of the text, PJ and David are going over details about the retirement community again. David sees the text, and reveals he has to pull out of the deal. He doesn't want to back out because of any issues with the actual project, but because of Mary Jane, which pisses off PJ. He goes off on him for being a constant flip flopper in Mary Jane's life too, prompting David to kick him out.

That night, MJ takes out her weave to prep for a new one, but her hair stylist forgot to call and cancel their appointment because of a car accident. Mary Jane panics, and quickly calls Niecy to fix her head! Niecy calls her mean while she does her hair, but Mary Jane sees everything she's said and done with her niece as trying to push Niecy to her fullest potential out of love. Niecy, still hurt, wants MJ to trust her to make the right decisions for her life. Niecy looked up to her aunt so much, but their relationship has been damaged now. MJ opens up to her about the fact that she was terrified of going to work without her weave out of fear of being accepted. She tells Niecy that she's human regardless of the pedestal Niecy put her on. The two of them share wine, and Niecy admits that she's worried about Mary Jane. Mary Jane honestly is worried about herself, too.

After getting her hair done, Mary Jane gets a voicemail from David, who thought things were going to be different this time, but obviously not. He talks about how he figured out her thought process that if  if she hurt him or pushed him away enough, he wouldn't come back. That mission has been accomplished. At the end of the episode, David also tells Anna the truth about what happened, though there's no telling how that will end. Meanwhile, Mary Jane dances wildly as if she's free. Hopefully this really is a fresh start with her. I still personally think that she should be dating Sheldon!

I just received a great music video that I just had to share before the night was over! Check out this music video by singer Sherwinn "Dupes" Brice for his latest single "Guilty."

The track, produced by Dupes himself along with Francis "Leebo" De Lima, and accompanied by Zach Popo and Jason Lovence, definitely has an island soul feel that listeners will enjoy! Dupes effortlessly sings this calming love song, opening up about the fact that he is falling in love, and admitting that he will deal with the price that comes with it. The visual itself follows a couple's journey on the beautiful island of St Lucia (!!!) and the events that lead up to a wedding day. However, the seemingly beautiful story doesn't go how you may think!

Check out the video below!

I really like this song, and the visual was perfect! I mean, who couldn't love a video on an island as beautiful as St. Lucia?! I loved the twist in the story line, as well. Kind of pulled at my heartstrings a little, but that's the way love goes sometimes, unfortunately.

You can learn more about Dupes on his official website, as well as connect with him on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube

Justin Timberlake is to receive the 2015 iHeartRadio Innovator Award!

According to Billboard, the singer and father-to-be will receive the award when the iHeartRadio Music Awards airs live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on March 29 at 8 p.m. on NBC.

“Justin is one of the most dynamic artists of our lifetime, a visionary whose influence on pop culture starts with brilliant music and stretches well beyond,” said Tom Poleman, President of National Programming Platforms for iHeartMedia. “I’m amazed how he regularly breaks barriers that continue to shape and define music trends. We’re thrilled to recognize him amongst his peers—who also proudly call themselves his fans.”

President of Entertainment Enterprises John Sykes added, "Even given all his success to date, I think he is only at the beginning of one of the great careers in entertainment."

Justin has been in this industry since the 90s with *NSYNC, but has really made an impact with his solo music! Congratulations to him for this honor!

Today we have singer Kimberly Lola! Kimberly began singing at the age of two, and performed at different talent shows throughout elementary school. “One in particular stands out to me because a classmate later said that she cried because she thought my singing was so beautiful,” the singer stated. “I already knew I wanted to be a singer when I grew up but hearing that really made me realize how powerful music is.” On her career day in third grade, she and her classmates were told to come to school dressed up in clothes that showed what they wanted to be when they grew up. Kimberly simply brought a microphone to school, knowing exactly what she wanted. “Aside from a brief lapse in judgment in 2nd grade when I thought I wanted to be an archaeologist,” she said. “I never wavered from the goal of being a singer.”

As a child, Kimberly was exposed to a variety of artists, mostly within R&B, through her family. “My dad listened to a lot of 50s and 60s R&B,” the singer stated. “My mom listened to a lot of old school R&B as well, artists such as Marvin Gaye and Anita Baker.” She also was exposed to country, rock and pop, as well as lot of 80s and 90s R&B music, including Brandy, Aaliyah, Dwele, Lauryn Hill and more, which she acknowledged has had an influence on her music. “While my sound is definitely more soulful than anything else, I often pull from different styles, unintentionally,” Kimberly admitted. Mariah Carey is a significant influence on her music, as the singer revealed that her music blew her away. “It’s because I trained myself after her that I am a soprano, today,” Kimberly stated. “Even though I was much too young to fully understand love and heartache, her music always evoked so much emotion that I always felt moved by it.”

Recently the singer released her EP, The Light, All instrumentals were created by producer Insightful (specific tracks mixed: "The Light," "So Empty," and "See Me Through"). The rest of the album was mixed and mastered by Willie Lee at 8412 Studios. “The inspiration behind this project was actually the music itself,” Kimberly said of the project. “[Insightful] asked me to do the project and it turned into something I really enjoyed making.” She hopes that the EP brings inspiration and evokes emotion with listeners. Currently, Kimberly is working on her next EP. She hasn’t given out too many details just yet, but it will have more of an R&B feel. I’m excited to hear it! In the meantime, check out her EP, The Light, below!

In terms of what separates her from other artists out now, Kimberly holds herself and her music to very specific standards and refuses to bend, which is very admirable. “I completely understand the desire and need to be what the people want but I draw a line that is very distinct,” the singer stated. “My music or any music I am a part of has to be of a certain standard, lyrically. You won’t hear me use sexist or degrading language in my music, for example, or hop on a song that does. If that means turning down a gig then so be it.”

In the future, Kimberly plans to be a respected international artist and work with some of the artists that have influenced her. “I really just want to get out there and make good music,” she said. “Overall, I want to be running a successful business doing what I love.” Definitely be on the lookout for this talented singer!

You can hear more from Kimberly on YouTube, SoundCloud, BandCamp, and ReverbNation. You can also connect with her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

Last month, I had the opportunity to interview a great upcoming artist Ridock King. He has released a new song called "Divine Energy," which I want you all to check out! "Divine Energy is that energy that you cannot necessarily explain but you like how it feels," Ridock said of the track. The uptempo track is really fun and great to dance to! Ridock himself is a positive artist that seeks to create good music for himself and listeners, and encourages everyone to enjoy life on the song.

Check out the track below!

Rihanna is certainly making a mark in the fashion industry!

According to WWD, the singer will be featured in the fourth episode of Dior’s “Secret Garden” video series. Set to be shot by Steven Klein in Versailles (!!!), the film and print campaign will run this spring! What's even greater about this announcement is that Rihanna is the first black woman to be at the forefront of the French brand!

Dior has had millions of views with the first three videos of models strutting through the Versailles grounds rocking the brand's various fashions.

Rihanna is seriously killing it! Congrats to her for snagging another lucrative fashion deal, and continuing to branch outside of music.

Last night's episode of The Challenge: Battle of the Exes 2 was TOO GOOD! Picking up from last week, Nany and Nia continue to go back and forth and it's absolutely ridiculous. I can't stand that Nia gets so emotional over this game. I understand being an athlete, and wanting the strongest competitors at the end, but get it over Nia! At the end of the day, Jordan and Sarah are playing THEIR game. Nia needs to get herself under control. Truth be told, Sarah is one of the few rational people in this house, and I'm proud of her for finally looking out for herself. She's finally being logical in this game, and making all the right moves!

Wes and Theresa feel like they can beat Nia and Leroy, though they don't like the fact that they will have to face them. Obviously, they still want to win, and come back to freak Johnny out! Meanwhile, Leroy tells Nia to use her frustration to kill it in the Dome.

At the Dome that night, the teams play "Hall Brawl," which is VERY physical! The objective is to basically run through your opponent in a tight hallway to get to the other side to ring a bell. It will be a relay race, with the guys going first and then the girls right after. The first team to win two rounds will win the Dome! Though Nia and Leroy are definitely stronger, if Wes and Theresa play smart, they might be able to win. That first round was terrible for them, though! After getting pummeled by Leroy, Wes' neck and head hurts and he is unstable. I felt bad, but then again, I don't.  In the second round, Wes' entire body is killing him, but he hopes to do a different strategy to try to win. However, he basically falls to the ground, which allows Leroy to get past him quickly. As the girls fight to get to that bell, Theresa tries to hold and drag Nia, but Nia still manages to get to the bell first, sending Wes and Theresa home! I was too happy! Yes, they know how to play the game, but this is karma for how they are as conniving, rude and fake people. I don't feel bad at all.

Back at the house, Nia and Leroy feel great about the win, but Nia is irritated that everyone wants the easy way out to win. Leroy tries to explain things to her about self-preservation, but it seems to go right over her head. At that moment, the house gets a clue to pack their bags and head to the last challenge in Panama City before the Final! Nia finally sucks it up and apologizes to Sarah, Nany, and even Jordan. Again, he explains to her again that this is a game, and he takes her apology for face value, always knowing to expect this from her.

That night, for the first time in Challenge history, the competitors have an actual nighttime challenge! T.J. announces that the teams will play "Don't Let Me Down." The objective is to use five different ropes to scale down a building. They have to transfer ropes all the way down and work together to make it. At the end of the fifth rope, there is a bell. Whichever team makes it the farthest, the fastest, will win Power Couple, which is crucial now. The Power Couple for the night will earn their spot in the Final, no question!  T.J. also announces that even if a player falls, the other team member can keep going. The teams actually don't get to watch each other's turns though, unfortunately.

I have to say that this is probably the toughest and scariest challenge they've had, at least to me. It's bad enough that you're scaling a building above a popular highway, but it's also pitch black outside! The majority of the teams falls at the third rope, while Nia herself falls on the second, but Leroy keeps going and is actually the only team member to make it to the end. Yet and still, Leroy and Nia end up losing because they didn't make it as far as a team, and will go to the Dome! Sarah and Jordan end up winning Power Couple at this very crucial moment in the game, and will be going to the Final! T.J. tells them, though, that they have to make a decision right there about who will face them. Bananas and Nany are confident that they aren't going in, because of their alliance, BUT Sarah makes the HUGE move to vote in Bananas and Nany!!!!! The episode ends with Bananas and everyone else in disbelief!

It annoyed me that Bananas saw this as some huge betrayal for a few reasons. One, I've been watching him for YEARS on these challenges, and I know he would've done the same thing if it had came down to it. Two, earlier on in the episode, he himself said that this is a game, and that every team should look out for themselves. He admitted that no one would want to face tougher teams if they had a choice. Well Bananas, Sarah had a choice, and she made the right one! It made no sense to throw Jay and Jenna in, because they're clearly the weakest team there and it will be the shock of the century if they actually win. Sarah made a great move, and I was very proud of her! She's always been the nice one, and still is, but now she's playing the game! Can't be mad at her for that. We shall see what happens in this last elimination next week!
