Happy Friday yall! We have another great spotlight for you! As always, if you are or represent an upcoming artist, designer, producer, etc, and are interested in being featured on the blog, visit our Features/Submissions page for more information.

Today, we have blogger Sonia Grace! Originally from Alabama, Sonia got her start in blogging back in November 2013, as a hobby while she went back to school to study nursing. She realized it was something that she wanted to seriously pursue when she began doing celebrity interviews, starting back in 2014 with her first interview with actress Drew Sidora. “I was super nervous because I didn't want to ask her the wrong questions to offend her,” Sonia admitted. “But after that I did tons of other celeb interviews, and then I realized my calling was in broadcast journalism. This was my first time I was happy with a job I was doing.”

Inspired by other bloggers like Necole Bitchie, Karen Civil, and Claire Sulmers, Sonia recently launched her new site, The Voux, which offers a variety of topics for readers including beauty, celebrity news, fashion and fitness. “First I wanted the title “vous,” meaning you in french, but that name was taken, so I decided to put the x on the end,” the blogger said of the title of the site. Sonia said that The Voux is a website for the people, dealing with real issues, offering sections as well about life and love. “I even have [an] “Ask The Experts” section where you can [ask] relationship experts questions and they answer in [a] brutally honest manner,” she stated. “No sugarcoating answers like [other] websites will give you.The mission for my site is for the people (you) to give the readers what they want.” The Voux also has a “Beauty Pick of the Week” section, which showcases regular people as well as celebrities.

In addition to working on The Voux, Sonia is set to begin hosting her own radio show next month on Blog Talk Radio on the Royal Thieves Station. She will also be launching a fashion blog and boutique with her best friend later in the year.

Sonia’s advice to upcoming bloggers? “Stay consistent [and] build relationships,” she said. “Always have great people on your team if you trying to make your brand bigger, [and] do your research.” In terms of her own future, Sonia would like to see her site be one of the top websites of them all. She would also love to see celebs wearing her upcoming designs from her boutique, as well as styling celebs herself. “I would love to see those take off in the next year, and just for me to continue to be successful in my life and career in the entertainment industry,” the blogger said.

You can check out Sonia’s work on The Voux! You can also also follow her on Twitter and Instagram!
Can't believe The Game is almost over! Picking up from last week, Malik makes the decision to break up with Keira, and she slaps him dead in his face! As she should! Malik is a dummy, who pushes away everybody for no good reason. I guarantee you, though, Keira will try to make her way to Blue, now. It's all a shame!

Meanwhile, Chardonnay and Baby Rog go to brunch at Phatty's after church. Tee Tee advises Baby Rog to bring Chardonnay to Malik's charity event that night. At that moment, Malik shows up and tells Tee Tee that he broke up with Keira, stating that the break up "had to be done" so he wouldn't be distracted from football. That excuse is weak seeing as though Malik is third string and hasn't played in forever! Tee Tee tells him that it's ridiculous, and that he's throwing a good thing away. Malik then comes up with a stupid plan for Tee Tee to poison team members with bad chicken meat so that Malik could possibly play!

At the Pitts' house, Jason is focused preparing for the Sabers' next football game, while Kelly tries to figure out what to wear to the charity event. Herbie Lesser's executive assistant comes over, and rudely busts in! He turns on the TV just to show them that Herbie has actually bought the Sabers on his own, and now they're screwed! Will Herbie still want Jason as head coach? Very doubtful!

At her house, Tasha gets a call from Pookie, who plans to take their daughter Kai to Richmond for a visit. As Tasha tries to leave, Rick Fox swoops in, wanting to talk about the baby and whether or not he's the father! She brings him inside, asking him to hide before Pookie comes. Instead, Rick answers the door when Pookie knocks. It's a very awkward situation as Pookie comes in, and Rick tries to see if the baby is his. He opens up about how he's had all this success, but has never had a family of his own. However, Pookie doesn't care, and has no sympathy for him, obviously. Pookie wanted to be a father his whole life, but dealing with this triangle between him, Rick, and Tasha, isn't what he imagined at all.

At the Sabers' executive meeting, Herbie discusses changing the team's name to something he can relate to like the Sausages or Swingers! Ew. Jason and Kelly storm in, and Jason calls Herbie out on the fact that this was originally their idea. In a surprising move, Herbie announces he actually wants to keep Jason as a permanent head coach, but with some strings. Herbie wants to have a night with Kelly himself, but he decides to settle for watching Jason and Kelly have sex! What?! This is a deranged old man. Now whether or not Jason and Kelly will go along with it, I don't know. I don't put it past them to get ahead!

Later, Keira talks to Chardonnay, who brings along Baby Rog, to talk about their breakup. Baby Rog starts giving up unsolicited advice, which Keira isn't feeling. Yes, Chardonnay is in a relationship, but Keira worries that maybe she may be forcing things with him. Of course, Chardonnay doesn't take too kindly to that, and storms out with Baby Rog in tow.

That night, Malik and Kelly speak about their new Read Wright program, which is actually a good idea. However, Malik also expects Tee Tee to poison the food for the first and second string quarterbacks so that he can potentially play. Tee Tee is clearly torn, especially since he's already poisoned someone before from his chicken truck! Awkwardly, Chardonnay and Baby Rog run into Kelly and Jason at the event. Baby Rog admits that finding a new gig is bad, which Jason rubs in his face. Chardonnay angrily pulls him away, clearly more worried about how they look as a couple in front of Jason. She realizes that maybe, like Keira said, she is forcing things with Baby Rog. As quick as the relationship came, that's how quick it's over as they go their separate ways. Honestly, I think that they may be a good fit later on down the line, but it's just going too fast. Chardonnay still needs to heal from Jason.

Kelly and Jason later celebrate over the success of the event, with the event raising a lot of money and Jason putting Baby Rog down. At that point, Jason gets a call that some of the players have food poisoning, just like Malik planned! Meanwhile, Keira goes to see Blue, and he actually lets her in!!! This could be a problem, because I could see Blue being petty and sleeping with Keira just to get back at Malik.

The episode ends with Tasha drinking with Rick and Pookie, dancing seductively with both of them! The good times doesn't last, as Rick and Pookie start to try to fight over her. Drunkenly, Pookie pulls out a gun, and starts tossing it around, and the gun goes off!!! Cliffhanger!

In response to the Sandra Bland tragedy as well as the #BlackLivesMatter movement, Toronto producer and singer Yuri Koller has released his track "Who You Gonna Call Now."

On the ballad, Yuri admits that these brutal police killing upon black people specifically are seeming to become a common occurrence, which is sickening. What do we do to stop this? "It’s not black or white...it seems like there’s more than 50 shades of grey," Yuri sings. "Tryna make it through the night...aren’t the red and blue supposed to save the day?"

According to E! News, Trai planned the engagement himself. He set it up to where Grace thought they were going to dinner, just the two of them. However, he also gathered a few of her friends and family members to surprise her on the new engagement.

Another spotlight for the week, and definitely more on the way! If you are or represent an upcoming artist, designer, producer, etc., please visit our Features/Submissions page for more information on how to be featured on The Spotlight.

Today, we have singer/songwriter Adrean Black! Adrean fell in love with singing at a very young age. "I was three years old and used to go into my closet with my parents' cassette tape player and sing like no one could hear me," she laughed. "My mom also said I was the loudest pre-schooler on our little children’s choir." Adrean's mom signed her up for vocal lessons shortly after. When the singer's grandmother bought her a Walkman in the third grade, the singer would stay up all night listening to music, and she fell in love. Adrean started writing songs in middle school, and honing her craft. Eventually, Adrean went into partnership with her friends, producers Sir Elroy and Rob Flom, forming music production group RichKid Music. "That's when we really started taking it seriously, knowing that we could really do something with our talents combined," she said.

Hailing from Philadelphia, the singer acknowledged that a majority of her dad's family are musicians as well, so any get together ended up in "some kind of jam session," she said. "I was in love with not only the talent in my family but also the people on the street," Adrean admitted. "Now that I’m older and am doing shows, I am so honored to see and know so many extremely talented artists from this city. I love that I can perform alongside them and represent Philly." Inspired by various artists like Whitney Houston, Karen Clark Sheard, Tori Kelly, Kendrick Lamar, George Benson, Stevie Wonder and so many more, this gifted singer has a deep love and passion for music that shows in her projects.

Adrean released her first project, Perfect Dream, back in 2011, produced by Sir Elroy and Rob Flom. She collaborated again with them, as well as Daniel El, for her most recent project, 50/50, which was released on June 23. "50/50 is a project that, collectively, we as RichKid felt was a good showcase of my songwriting, but more on the fun, lighter side," the singer said of the EP. "We wanted this project to be feel good and up beat." The album was titled 50/50 because the songs are half pop and half R&B, blending fun, dance tracks with mid-tempo ballads for listeners. One of Adrean's favorite songs on the EP is the track "Not Worried," which hits home for her personally. "I've been a people-pleaser all my life, to the point where I’ve made decisions for my life based on what I think will make others happy, whether that would be my parents, a significant other, friends, family, etc," she admitted. "I still struggle with that today. But I remember writing this song as kind of my declaration of taking ownership of my life and my choices and not being so concerned about what others may say about it." The singer hopes that listeners enjoy the music, and are encourages to express themselves through her music!

Check out a little preview of 50/50 below!

Currently, Adrean has been performing various shows throughout the summer, and is preparing for the A3C Festival this October, which she's definitely excited about. When it comes to potential differences between her and other artists, Adrean admits that she's not "image driven," focusing more on working on her craft. "I do hope that, when people come to shows and listen to my music, that my love for this really shows through," she said. "I hope that people enjoy themselves and just really have a good time with it the way I do."

In the future, Adrean hopes to work as a songwriter and maybe even a vocal coach for other aritists, as well as running RichKid with her partners. "I’d love to have a career like James Fauntleroy," she stated. "He writes so many amazing songs and does features and background. He also puts out music when he wants and performs from time to time. That would be ideal for me!"

To hear more from Adrean, visit the singer's SoundCloud. You can also connect with her on Facebook and Twitter!

Loving this final season of The Game! Picking up from last week, Keira and Malik are having some one-on-one romantic time, when Tasha walks in on them with the baby! I was embarrassed just watching.

That night, Chardonnay and Baby Rog meet up, and he invites her to go to Aspen with him and a few of his friends. However, she declines, saying that she has a spa conference to go to. Seems to me like she's just scared. Meanwhile, Jason and Kelly have some weird Little Red Riding Hood foreplay (Jason even dresses up as a wolf!). However, Jason can't focus because he doesn't know what's going to happen with his job since there is a new owner coming in. Kelly advises that they should find out the new owner is, and try to win them over. However, Jason rejects that idea because no one likes him enough for him to do that. Kelly then suggests that maybe they can buy the Sabers themselves! All they need is some serious investors, including Baby Rog!

Later, Malik talks to Tee Tee about how he didn't shed a tear when he had sex with Keira like he did with Yana. Tee Tee thinks it's all in his head after Yana told him that he doesn't know how to love. However, Malik feels there is a possibility that there isn't as deep a connection between him and Keira as she thought. Tasha then calls, deciding to invite Keira and Malik to dinner, definitely with ulterior motives. The next night at dinner, turns out Tasha invited Yana over under the guise of Tasha wanting her to be a personal trainer! Tasha is determined to keep Keira and Malik apart, pulling Keira aside to see how Malik vibes with Yana. As Yana checks Malik's shoulder like in the past, Malik even sheds a tear!

Later, Tee Tee sees Chardonnay at Drop Bar. She has a date with "Chase Billings," a guy she met online. However, "Chase" is actually Tee Tee himself! Chardonnay admits that she's scared to date another guy (*cough* Baby Rog *cough*) because he's in the football world. Because of everything that happened with her and Jason, she doesn't think it's a good idea. Tee Tee tells her that she deserves a real chance at happiness, even though she's scared. I think so, too! Chardonnay, as crazy as she is, is a good woman, and Baby Rog might just be a great match for her.

Back at Tasha's, Yana reveals she has a new job as a trainer for the San Diego Padres. Tasha and Keira then trade little jabs back and forth, as Tasha tries to imply that Keira's not loyal or has a good job as an actress. Yana gets up angrily, seeing that Tasha used her to break Keira and Malik up. Tasha gets irritated because, in her eyes, Yana is a good woman, and someone who Malik can build with now that he's near the end of his career. Malik then goes off in defense of Keira, stating that if Tasha can't act right around them, then she can't be around them at all! In nine seasons, this is the first time I remember Malik ever standing up for a woman he was seeing like that!

Meanwhile, the Pitts meet with Baby Rog, who is skeptical of coming back to work with the team. Jason also brings in this rich old dude Herby Lesser to get on the deal. Things go sour when Jason finds out that Herby and Kelly used to date a few years ago, and he even flirts with her in front of Jason! Jason gets upset and dramatic, ruining the meeting. Baby Rog sees yet again that Jason is messy, and both he and Herby walk away from the deal! Looks like buying a team is out, and now Jason has to win these games to get to the playoffs.

At the end of the episode, Keira declines a call from Tasha, who is actually right outside her door. When Keira lets her in, Tasha states that she's just being protective of her son, but she's never seen him stand up for another woman beside herself the way he did. Tasha then decides to teach Keira how to make macaroni and cheese as a peace offering. Meanwhile, Chardonnay meets up with Baby Rog. She wants to go to church with him instead of Aspen. Chardonnay is determined to take things slow and not have a messy situation like she did with Jason, which Baby Rog understands. However, at that point, Kelly and Jason walk in and see them together! Messy!

The next morning, Malik and Keira wake up after a night together. As Keira goes to the bathroom, Malik checks to see if he has any emotional tears, but to no avail. He is truly scared that he and Keira aren't meant to be. However, the fact that he stood up to his mother for Keira shows how much they are. I hope he realizes this before he does something to mess it up!

We have another great artist for you guys to check out! As always, if you are or represent an upcoming artist, designer, producer, etc. that is interested in a feature on The Spotlight, please visit our Features/Submissions page for more information.

Today, we have London-based, Bermudan singer/songwriter Bassette! She began singing at the age of 11, after she received a karaoke machine as a Christmas gift. “It was one where we could record ourselves singing to different backings,” the singer reminisced. “That was the first time I really heard myself singing, and the first time anyone else really heard me singing, also.” Bassette began making cover videos on YouTube at around 14, and got great feedback from viewers, encouraging her to pursue music as a career, using her gifts of singing and writing. “I fail at a lot of things, but singing and writing are just something that I am addicted to, and I’m pretty good at [them],” Bassette stated.

Inspired by R&B artists like Destiny’s Child, Ashanti, Lauryn Hill, and India.Arie, as well as The Weeknd and Lana Del Ray, Bassette has a soulful, yet dark sound, with heartfelt, vulnerable lyrics that will captivate listeners. “It’s just great when people can relate to and feel something with your lyrics,” the artist said. “I just want to make music that makes people feel something.” Her latest track, “Suffocating,” is a perfect example of that. Produced by Chris Hutchings, the track speaks of a toxic, painful relationship where the two involved “aren’t good for each other, but they’re afraid to be apart,” Bassette said of the song. “They would rather be unhappy together than happy alone.” Check out the track below!

Currently, Bassette is putting the finishing touches on her debut EP, Midnight Sound! “I decided to call it Midnight Sound because that’s when I find it best for me to write, at night, when it’s dark, in that mood where I contemplate life,” she said. “I want people to take away [from the project] that it’s perfectly cool to be alone and just be you.” More than likely, she will also post a few videos from songs featured on the EP, and share those with listeners as well!

In terms of what makes her unique, Bassette believes it’s the fact that she’s willing to truly be herself and express powerful messages through her music. “I feel like a lot of artists are just so loud without really saying much or they’re trying too hard to be completely different and against the norm which is OK,” the singer said. “But if you just be yourself and do what you want to do you’re bound to be different anyway.” Bassette may be new to the music world, but she’s determined to develop herself as an artist. “I just want to grow and learn from different creative thinkers,” she said of her future, hoping to connect and create new music with other artists.

You can check out more from Bassette through BGM Entertainment as well as the singer's own YouTube channel. You can also connect with her on Facebook and Twitter

The singer said of the song, "If I’m honest, that’s something that still scares me profoundly and it takes a lot to change my solitary tendencies, but this song is my way of capturing the feelings that I experience when I finally get over that hurdle, and let new people in”.

A spotlight to start the week! Definitely have more that will be posted this week and next, so be on the lookout! As always, if you are or represent an upcoming artist, designer, writer, etc., that would like to be featured on The Spotlight, please visit our Features/Submissions page for more information.

Today, we have hip hop artist Troy Patterson, Jr. During his four-year stint in the U.S. Navy, Troy began experiment with making beats, eventually leaving the military to study and develop his craft. However, his beats weren't getting much recognition at first, and he eventually ended up writing and rapping a song of his own just to prove that his production skills were up to par. "I had a guy master it for me, and he was like, 'Man, you might need to look at rapping, because I've been playing it for people and they really like it,'" Troy stated. From there, Troy began to focus on rapping, and honing his skills.

Raised by a single mom, who also served as a preacher, Troy credits his faith in God as his reasoning for continuing to pursue his dream. "I truly do believe God is on my side, and I think my faith is the foundation of the music," the artist admitted. "I don't even think I would've tried it if my faith wasn't so high." Also being raised in Georgia, for the most part, gives his music that Southern, soulful kind of feel. "You mix that with [being] raised in the church, and a love for hip hop, and you've got basically my sound," Troy said. Inspired by neo-soul artists like D'Angelo, he often uses soulful hooks on his songs. Inspired also by other hip hop artists like Big Krit, Yo Gotti, and Nipsey Hussle, specifically by their hustle as independent artists, Troy strives to remain independent and own his own masters of his music.

Under his old name, Troy Preach, the artist dropped a mixtape named Human Being Musiq back in 2012, which was his "experimental project," where he wanted to prove to others and himself that he could really do this. Currently, he's working on a new project called God Heard Me, which is set to be dropped later this summer. In terms of what listeners can expect to hear, Troy admitted that there is definitely growth between his first project and this upcoming one, as well as a variety of topics. "It's more personal, I try to really explain my life and my story to the best of my ability, because I know it's relatable." he said.  "[There will be] way better production, and [it will be] a more cohesive project."

Interestingly, Troy currently balances his music with his job as a barber, something that he said has impacted his life and material. "Conversations that happen in the barbershop can be life changing," he admitted. "I learned a lot about life, and I'm affected by that. It gives me a lot of inspiration." The artist believes this aspect of his life actually makes him more versatile, and allows him to touch the people as he works behind his chair. "I think people just want to have somebody they can relate to, and somebody that ain't afraid to be a human being," Troy said. "The whole Hollywood aspect of the music world  is very real. I'm not on that."

In addition to working on his new project, Troy is collaborating with Chris Noxx of the Grammy award-winning production team Tha Piecemakerz on producing new music for artists, as well. After his project drops, Troy also plans to drop four to five songs every month to keep the buzz going about his music. He's even working on creating his own label. This artist is definitely on the grind!

As an artist, Troy simply wants to create great music, and not necessarily be in the spotlight. "I don't see myself compromising for fame and all of that. I, more so, just want people to kind of enjoy the music" he said. The rapper doesn't care about being "the best rapper ever" or stepping on other people to get ahead. He's focused on uplifting people with his work. "I'm not trying to look like a star, or be a star per se," Troy continued. "I'm just trying to use the gift God gave me, because I don't want it to go to waste." In the future, Troy would like to own his own barbershop with an in-house studio, and own a label. He would also love to continue to make music, and also find new talent at showcases that he can help build them from the ground up. This artist definitely has big ambitions, but also the talent, creativity, drive, and faith to make it happen!

You can check out more from Troy on SoundCloud and YouTube. You can also connect with him on Twitter

The Game is really winding down, with only three more episodes after this until the SERIES FINALE! Picking up from last week, this episode was really a filler episode as we took a walk down Memory Lane, seeing clips of the history of the show! At the beginning, the police bring Blue over to Jason's. Turns out Blue was an unruly protester at a rally for immigration reform! Guess he's taking his protester role seriously since he and the Sabers stood against Roger, Sr. Then again, Blue is suspended for a bit, so no telling where his head's at. The police only gave him over to Jason because they have money on a future game. Jason makes it clear that the team is who needs Blue's help right now.

After sitting on the couch staring at each other, Jason mentions how unfocused Blue really is, and that a lot of bad things can happen for an athlete when they're all over the place. Using Malik as an example, we see clips of where Malik punched Chris Clements (Daryl Mitchell) who was in a wheelchair and threw wild parties. Jason also reminds Blue that even though Blue can't stand Malik now, they used to be friends (we see them partying together). However, Blue refuses to be compared to Malik, stating he isn't a walking stereotype.

Jason then tries to compare Blue to Derwin, who was focused on football, his girlfriend Melanie, and was a committed Christian (Jason tried, but that didn't work out too well). However, things quickly went downhill as Derwin got caught up in the game. He cheated on Melanie with Drew Sidora, lost Melanie for a while, and went through ups and downs with other females, eventually winning Melanie back.

However, Blue's head is even further away from the game with all these memories he doesn't care about. Jason then calls Tasha and tells him about Blue's participation in the protest rally. Tasha thinks that maybe Blue needs a Sunbeam to get his mind off things, stating that everybody needs somebody. We see clips of the Sunbeams' meeting (and drinking, of course), Tasha and Kelly's relationship, Tee Tee giving advice to Tasha, and Melanie looking out for Derwin even when they were broken up. We are reminded of how Keira was in Blue's corner from the beginning, before he really gelled on the field.

Tasha also reminds Blue how every relationship isn't perfect, recapping how Jason and Kelly went through it, Malik lost out on quite a few women over the years, and of course, Jason dumped Chardonnay at the altar. Jason then hangs up on Tasha, shocking Blue. Both Kelly and Melanie have gone as far as slapping Tasha before, so Jason states that others aren't scared of her, either.

Jason then reveals that he thinks Blue may need therapy, like Tasha and Malik (though, for them, it didn't take). He also feels like Blue has what it takes to better than everyone except Jason, as he's holding on to the fact that he brought San Diego a championship. Sincerely though, Jason doesn't want Blue to lose out on what this city and the experience of a Saber has to offer. We see good and bad clips of the history of the show as Emeli Sande's "Wonder" plays. Blue understands, and acknowledges that, regardless of what has happened in San Diego, there's no place he'd rather be.

It was a very random filler episode, but I still loved it. It was so good to see Pooch Hall and Tia Mowry, even in flashbacks (be on the lookout for them in the series finale!). It's crazy how this show has been on for NINE seasons, and I was there to watch from the very beginning. Intrigued to see how it all ends.

Keeping the spotlights coming! As always, if you are or represent an upcoming artist, designer, producer, etc., and are interested in a feature, please visit our Features/Submissions page for more information.

Today we have rising Caribbean hip hop artist Kupid (aka Q)! Born to an Antiguan father and a Guyanese mother, the artist grew up listening to a variety of different music with his family. "Every Sunday was 'Music Day,'" Kupid chuckled. "Everybody would gather around and just listen to records." He would listen to music on a daily basis, and started doing some singing, rapping, and experimentation with music in high school.

Professionally, Kupid actually started off as a backup dancer in 2000, dancing for other artists, and even was a part of an entire dance crew, Crossovah. The crew eventually turned into an actual singing group, combining hip hop, R&B, reggae, and other sounds, and performed in different islands like Trinidad, Barbados, and Jamaica. The group developed a huge following and was consistently being booked for shows, and it became all that Kupid could think about or what to do. He wanted to practice and develop his craft, rather than work a regular job, and was quite successful with Crossovah. "I did that for about seven years, and then we all decided to go our separate ways," Kupid said. Inspired by different artists from various genres like Blink-182, Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Lil Wayne, and Drake, the artist branched off on his own in 2011"I think Lil Wayne had a big, big, big impact vocal wise in my career," Kupid stated. Listening to his music, you hear a blend hip hop and Island pop among others, as Kupid develops his own unique sound.

Kupid dropped his song "Hey Girl" ft. gospel singer Thomas Miller back in 2013. "I was jamming to "Summertime" by Will Smith, and, for some odd reason, I was like, 'Yo, I want to make a new version of this.'" he said. "That's why, when you listen to it, it's more of a laid back, chill barbecue, pool party type of atmosphere." Kupid was also inspired by the chill vibe of Chris Brown's "Yo (Excuse Me Miss)." Writing the entire song, melodies and all, Kupid came up with a great song that perfectly embodies both of these tracks, but still puts his own island spin on it.

Check out the video for "Hey Girl" below!

Currently, Kupid is working on a new project with different producers including Troyton Rami (Sean Paul, Tinashe), with great new music to come soon! In terms of what separates him from other artists, he believes that it is his talent as a true entertainer that makes him unique. Combining rap, dance, and even skits and comedy, Kupid makes sure that his audience has a good time watching him perform. "On top of that, I have my Caribbean background," he said. "So I'm going to throw some reggae sets in there. I'm going to throw a soca set. Maybe people [have] never even heard of soca, so I might do a skit and show them what soca is." Calling himself "the new age Shaggy," Kupid uses a lot of different elements to truly make his music and performances shine. The artist will also be performing at the Fall Culture Fest in October, opening for Big Sean, Sean Paul, and Wayne Wonder, as well as a peace rally concert in Africa the following month.

In terms of the future, Kupid, admittedly very goal-driven, knows that he will have his hand in music in some way as the years go on, whether it be continuing his own music or eventually starting his own label. "I would say, 10 years from now, you will see me doing maybe management, helping other artists out," he said. "Trying to change the process of the game, help whoever needs to be helped, and bring that joyful music back out to the world." From speaking with him, I see that Kupid is very driven and passionate about his craft. That drive, combined with his talent, will definitely take him far!

You can learn more about Kupid on his official website, and hear more of his music on SoundCloud, ReverbNation, and YouTube. You can also connect with him on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
Rising South African singer Ashlinn Gray has released the video for her debut single "Battleships!" Featured on the singer's self-titled EP, the moving, upbeat track definitely had a great music video to match its inspirational message.

“With my EP being built around light and dark, and 'Battleships' being the biggest symbol of these two opposites, I wanted the music video to emphasis this theme," Ashlinn said of the song. "What really makes this video special is that I was able to incorporate some of my favorite things in life: friends and family, celebration, and last but not least, sparklers." Rapper Da Brat will once again be blasting through our radio speakers, but this time around she's lending her voice to The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.

The entertainer made her debut Monday on the nationally syndicated radio show following the departure of Claudia Jordan. She becomes the third female co-host to join the show in just over a year (after Jordan and Ebony Steele)

Da Brat spent the morning reading the news, which included South Carolina's decision to remove the Confederate flag and the birth of Bobby Brown's new daughter. The crew also took time to speak with Tyrese Gibson about his latest album Black Rose.

Da Brat solidified her place in hip-hop history when she became the first female solo rap act to have a platinum-selling album with her debut project Funkdafied in 1994.  She went on to release three more albums before her career came to a screeching halt when she was sentenced to three years in prison for an assault stemming from a 2007 incident.

Since her release, Da Brat has been a regular visitor on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, participating in rap battles with personalities Headkrack and Gary With Da Tea.

How do you like this final season of The Game?Picking up from last week, half of the Sabers stuck to their word for the walkout in response to Roger, Sr.’s negative comments towards them. They didn't show up to a game, forcing Jason to have to forfeit. Roger, of course, isn't at all pleased, and tells Jason that he needs to get the rest of the players back now!

Later, Tasha and Blue prepares for an appearance on TV to speak out about the walkout. Blue doesn’t think that he should be the leader in all this. He’s just speaking from his heart. However, Tasha tells him that someone has to lead to effect change, and Blue, being the team captain, is that person, regardless of if he wants to or not. Blue has to step up, especially since he started this whole walkout in the first place.

Meanwhile, Keira wants to take things slow with Malik, refusing to have sex for a while. She also tells Malik that she wants to go out on a real date, but Malik would rather just chill like they normally do. At that moment, he gets a text stating that Jason and Kelly have called an emergency team meeting with the players and Sunbeams at Phatty's. Malik leaves, promising to take Keira on a real date later.

At the meeting, the Pitts plan to convince the entire team to come back. They encourage everyone's opinions as they begin. Some people reveal that they are only making the league minimum, and think that the walkout needs to end. They don’t care about Roger’s comments about the players being slaves. Though Jason and Kelly try to manipulate everyone a bit into coming back, Blue steps up, and says that they will hold the line, speaking out again on what Roger said. He says that they have a real reason to fight for this, and, yes, they may have to give up games or even the championship. However, they need to stand together as a team for what’s right. He even calls out Kelly and Jason, who aren’t even a Sunbeam and Saber anymore, knowing that they only want to keep Jason’s interim position. His passion and words stir up the team, and they agree to continue with the walkout! That night, Jason asks Kelly if Blue is right about this. Kelly raises a good point: if they were still actual Sabers or Sunbeams, what would they do?

Later, Chardonnay comes to Baby Rog to again pitch having a mini Spadonnay at the Sabers Stadium, but now's not a good time for him. He has to give a ridiculous statement he was given in support of his father, which Chardonnay reads over and shuts down. He understands why everyone is upset, but he still wants to protect his father. Chardonnay encourages him to write his own statement, defending his father, but not what he said.

Later, Keira and Blue have a date at Phatty's, but he's smashed all the waitresses there, so it's awkward. They decide to go to the bar instead, where a girl comes and sits on Malik's lap right in front of Keira like it’s cool. Keira tells him she feels like she's dating a stripper, clearly uncomfortable with this. The girl leaves, but Blue eventually walks in, and starts drinking heavily as if something is wrong. Keira goes over to say something to him, which pisses Malik off and he storms away. Though Blue is initially cold to her, she tries to get to the root of his problem. Blue admits he feels pressure in this whole walkout situation, especially because players are struggling to get by. Keira can relate as she's had pressure of having to support her whole family with her acting. She tells him it's okay to be scared, and that the team is following him because he's right, leaving him a little encouraged.

Later, Keira goes to Malik's place, letting him know that this is the first and last time she chases him. She tells Malik that clearly nothing is going on with her and Blue, which he should know, just like she knows that nothing is going on with him and these random girls. Malik admits that seeing her with Blue was a blow to his ego a little. However, they are best friends and now are entering a relationship. If they work at it, especially Malik, they could be a good couple. The two quickly make up.

Meanwhile, Jason goes to talk to Roger, Sr, who’s in the car on the way to an event. Baby Rog gets in as well, and, as they drive off, he reveals he has made a few adjustments to his statement. Roger, Sr hates it, but Baby Rog refuses to read the original statement. Roger fires Baby Rog as general manager, and even makes him get out of the car. Roger then gets a video call from other owners, telling them that he should step down. Turns out that members from other teams are considering walking out as well, to show a united front across the league. Of course, these owners and the Commissioner don’t want that. Jason goes off on Roger, Sr. at that moment, saying that he was wrong and maybe he should step down. Though he is the owner, he doesn't have a true team at this point.

The next day, Roger, Sr. does step down, though with an attitude. Blue goes to Tasha happily after hearing the news, but she gently tells him that there are consequences to pay for this win. Blue won't be playing in next week's game, with the league saying he didn't follow "proper protocol" with organizing the walkout. Though it’s very disappointing, I was proud of Blue for standing for what was right. At the end of the day, he was able to get Roger to step down as owner, which was his goal.

Another spotlight for you all! As always, if you are or represent an upcoming artist, designer, model, etc., please visit our Features/Submissions page for more information on how to be featured!

Today, we have hip hop artist Luminarty! The artist got his start in music after watching his elder brother along with friends developing music of their own. “Immediately, I started developing a passion just for creating music just by looking at their process and the things they went through,” Luminarty said. He then started writing his own lyrics and developing his skills. Soon after, he linked up with Baltimore production group Mizfitz Sounds (50 Cent, Young Thug, Tinashe) to create more music. “That’s when I started taking things a lot more seriously,” the rapper admitted. “[I started] working on getting albums together, [and] I dropped a few mixtapes. It’s something that I really developed into a skill.”

Born in Cheverly, MD, but raised in Nigeria until the age of 7, Luminarty admitted his upbringing help develop his outlook on life, and, therefore, it impacts his music greatly. “I got to experience a lot of different cultures, [and] see things from a different perspective,” the artist said. “It taught me to look at things from a different angle, not just with creating music but with life in general.” He doesn’t limit himself to any one genre or topic, constantly working to create music outside of the box that will reach listeners. Luminarty is inspired by hip hop artists like Jay-Z, Jeezy, Wale, and Shy Glizzy, but also draws inspiration from other genres like pop and EDM. “I just have a passion for music,” he stated. “So I like to pull from every artist and every producer that I come in contact with, and it really influences the way that I see things and the way that I tackle my tracks.”

Luminarty recently released his single, “Never Slip Again,” from his album, The Petrelli Campaign, which is a part of an intricate story for the album from Luminarty’s point of view. He meets an individual in politics, who shows him the ropes if he really wants to be in the political world himself. However, the politician just had one rule for the guy—don’t talk to his daughter. However, the guy ends up falling in love with the woman. “As the story goes on, my mentor actually finds out but he doesn’t tell me,” Luminarty says. “It’s the ultimate betrayal. So he sets me up to take the fall for some illegal business that he’s actually doing.” In the story, Luminarty does end up getting arrested, and he makes a vow to “never slip again.” “It’s not just necessarily with this story. It’s a part of life as well,” the artist said. “There will be people you deal with on a regular basis that may seem cool, but you’ve really got to stay on your toes in every area of your life.” More videos and tracks will be released soon, and Luminarty hopes that listeners will be able to relate. Check out “Never Slip Again” below!

Currently, the rapper is working on a few new collaborations, and is also working on the second season of his series 16EVERY16, where he drops 16 bars and then releases a video every 16 days. Luminarty believes that it’s his sound, flow, and topics that separates him from the pack. “I try to work hard to develop my sound, and, at the same time, challenge myself to really do it all,” he said. “[I] challenge myself to really think outside the box, because there’s a lot of the same thing now when you look at music, especially hip hop.” He’s determined not to sound like anyone else, or do what anyone else does, and thoroughly works on his craft along with his team. Luminarty has the goal of developing a mainstream career, reaching international success. He also wants to open his own business to assist rising artists develop their craft and connections.

You can check out more from Luminarty on his official website, as well as on SoundCloud and YouTube. You can also connect with him on Twitter and Instagram

Rihanna has officially dropped the music video for her single "B**** Better Have My Money"!

After giving fans a teaser of the video at the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday night, she released the whole video on Thursday. The video plays out like a crazy revenge fantasy and was created and directed by RiRi herself.

Check the video below!

The video was nothing less of what you would expect from Rihanna. It was also nice seeing the popular face of Mads Mikkelsen from Hannibal playing the one Rihanna was after, who some say is a reference to her old accountant that swindled her out of $9 million. But that's another story. Riri is proud of herself for this video and it's sure to get people talking.
