Last night was the season finale of The Game, and it was GOOD! Picking up from last week's episode, Yana and Malik look at each other naked, pointing out their flaws (Yana figured it would be good foreplay!). Tasha calls right at that moment, saying that her water broke, and Malik actually tells her to close her legs! ("Babies take time," he whispers to Yana). Only Malik Wright.

Later, Chardonnay gets ready for her wedding, with Brittany and Keira as her bridesmaids. Keira talks about how Blue is trying to stop her from going to Miami, but Chardonnay shuts that down quick! It's her day, and she doesn't want to hear about Bleira's problems. Jason knocks at the door, and reveals that a lot is going wrong. Tasha's in labor, and Malik and Kelly are going to the hospital to be with her. Plus, Chardonnay's own parents' flight was late, and now there's no one to walk her down the aisle! Safe to say, this wedding is unraveling at the seams!

Meanwhile, a crowd gathers around Tee Tee's Cluck Truck at a red light with Tasha inside! Tasha defends him, and admits her own mistakes of not knowing who her baby's father is. She asks them to forgive Tee Tee, and let him get her to the hospital. They calmly back the cluck up!

At the church, Blue and Keira get into another confrontation about Keira's new movie filming in Miami. Blue seems to be insecure about her spending time away with him with other co-stars, since she slept with her last one. As Jason watches, he lets them know how much they remind him of Derwin and Melanie. To Jason, being in a relationship at this age is pointless, since they both have their own careers and lives to live. He advises them to take a break from each other, and maybe revisit a relationship in a few years. He had a point, but I think that Blue and Keira can work this out if they really want to. It's easy to give up when things get tough, but a couple faithful and in love with each other will put in the work to keep their relationship alive and well.

Later, Malik, Kelly, Yana, and Bibs wait at the hospital for Tasha. Malik reveals that he's working out with a few teams next week, which Yana begins to object to. However, at that point, Tasha comes in cussing, ready to give birth! She gives birth to a beautiful little girl, and everyone awes over her! She names Tee Tee for the godfather, saying that he's responsible for getting her here safe. He calls her Kai, which is a really pretty name, and Tasha accepts it. Surprisingly, at that moment, Pookie pops up! Malik called him to let him know that Tasha was in labor. He came for the baby. He doesn't want to hold her, though. He admits that he didn't feel anything until being with Tasha. He got her messages, and more and more, it became real that he could be the dad. He doesn't want to break the baby's heart, just because Tasha broke his, so he's here. He wants to take a DNA test to find out if Kai is his. It's revealed that Pookie IS the father of the baby, which will make for a very interesting season 8!

As Malik walks out of the hospital with Yana, she tells him that she doesn't think he's ready to try out with any teams just yet. She says to give it six or seven more months, which aggravates him, because he's impatient. Yana lets him know up front that he could do permanent damage to his arm, and she's not going to sign off on this. He tells her then that she's not ready to be in his crew, and she can bounce, which she does angrily. Malik irritates me so much. Just when I think he's getting himself together, he always does something stupid to mess things up.

Meanwhile, back at the wedding, Blue admits to Keira that he thinks Jason may be right about them. However, Keira doesn't want to do that again. They both clearly love each other, so what's the point of breaking up again? They need to make it work. At that moment, Blue proposes to Keira!!!!

Chardonnay is freaking out about her wedding falling apart. Blue and Keira ran off (to Vegas to get married we find out at the end of the episode). Tasha's not there since she had the baby. However, Kelly makes it back, and expresses how terrible her own wedding to Jason was. Sometimes the things that go wrong are the things you remember the most and laugh at later. Kelly tells her to ride this out. It doesn't matter if the wedding is perfect. Chardonnay and Jason just have to be perfect for each other. It was great advice, and it was nice to see them bond.

At the end of the episode, Chardonnay makes her march down the aisle to Mary J. Blige's "Be Without You." Chardonnay pulls out her phone with her vows. She admits that eloping wasn't what she wanted, but this ceremony makes everything real for her. Jason tries to say his vows, but I noticed that he kept looking back at Kelly! At first, I thought maybe she wrote the vows for him, and he forgot what to say, but he reveals that he's actually still in love with Kelly! After a huge slap at the alter, Chardonnay storms out! I could've strangled him! Chardonnay loves him, and took care of him, and now he wants to decide, after all this planning. Guess Chardonnay's first instincts were right. I'm not sure how Kelly will respond, but looks like Brittany Daniel is going to be back for a little bit! But then what's going to happen with Brandy?! Only time will tell!

What did you think of the season 7 finale of The Game?

Hard to believe that this season of The Game is almost over already! Picking up from the last episode I recapped (it's been a little while!), Tasha is prepping for the crib, but it's clear she has no idea what's she doing! Her baby is due in a month, and things just aren't together!

Meanwhile, Yana and Malik have a training session, but it's clear that both of them are distracted from their constant sexual tension. They are loving having sex together, but can't admit it! They have sex again, but it's very romantic this time. They end up cuddling afterwards and Malik even sheds a tear! What?!

Later, Kelly comes over to Tasha's, but Brittany gets busted for buying Sangria downstairs, so the two go down to get to her. It turns out to be a surprise baby shower with everyone there! While there, Keira reveals she got a new part in a Woody Allen movie, playing a nanny. Though everyone else is happy for her, Blue seems upset by the news. Turns out she'll be living in Miami for six months! As her boyfriend, he felt like she should've ran things by him first. When she coldly calls him "her roommate," obviously, he gets offended. I get where Keira is coming from, because obviously she needs to work, and build her career back up. However, she and Blue are dating, and she should've taken his feelings into account, and at least have tried to see how he was feeling about it. I'm sure if the tables were reversed, she would've been upset too.

While opening up her gifts, Tasha gets an old football and freaks out, leaving. Kelly, Chardonnay, and Keira rush to see what's wrong. In that instance, she was reminded that neither Pookie nor Rick is there to help her. She wants her daughter to have a father, and for her to not have to go through what Tasha went through with her own father. Though Keira says that Tasha can do it on her own, I don't believe it, and neither does Tasha. She wants better for her daughter. Hopefully it's resolved, and Pookie or Rick step up to the plate!

Meanwhile, Malik, Blue, and Jason throw the football around outside, and Malik's arm is looking good! Malik talks about Yana and the guys laugh at him for his first time "making love." However, they question if she was making love to him too, or if it was all in his head, which is a good question!

Later, the guys try to help Tasha put this daggone crib together! It's clearly a fail, but at least they're there. It shows that even if Pookie or Rick doesn't step up, the baby will have strong male role models in her life. I really liked that! At that moment, Chardonnay decides that now is the perfect time to talk things out with Kelly. She wants to clear the air, and discuss everything like adults. Kelly sincerely apologizes for kissing Jason, explaining that she was caught up in the moment. Chardonnay lets Kelly know that now that they're married, she has Jason's back now that he's in the real world away from football. Though it could've gone really wrong, Chardonnay invites Kelly to the wedding, Everyone watches, waiting to see if something goes down, but they actually work things out.

At the end of the episode, Malik goes to see Yana. They make out passionately, showing that they might have a relationship in the future. The next morning, Tasha preps for the wedding. However, her water breaks, and she goes into labor!

Meanwhile, Tee Tee, who is apparently guilty of 350 counts of contamination and reckless endangerment, plans to commit suicide while ignorant people tell him to jump. I didn't like that part to be honest, because I don't think suicide is something to joke about. However, Tasha comes in looking for Malik, who's not there. Tee Tee nonchantly steps down and plans to take Tasha to the hospital  in his Cluck Truck.

Tonight is the season finale of The Game, so make sure you're tuned in at 10 p.m. to BET! I can't wait to see the baby, and to see if Pookie or Rick show up to the hospital! Plus, Chardonnay and Jason are supposed to be renewing their vows, but it seems like Chardonnay may be having a change of heart! Watch tonight!

Another spotlight for you all today! As always if you are or represent an upcoming artist, designer, producer, etc., and are interested in a feature on the blog, please email me with a request!

Today on The Spotlight, we have hip hop artist Jaybird! Hailing from San Diego, CA, Jaybird got his start in music very early. Growing up in a musical family and influenced by his own father’s R&B group, “The Isles,” the rapper started singing at the age of five. However, all wasn't easy for him. “My parents were divorced, though both stayed in my life,” he said. “My mom always kept me and my big brother in nice neighborhoods, but because of that, money was tight.” Holding on to faith and family, Jaybird acknowledges his upbringing is what made him a stronger artist.

When he was eight, he fell in love with hip hop, and went on to pursue it as he got older. “I would always rap in the lunch time cyphers at my old high school, Rancho Bernardo High School,” Jaybird recalled. “Every time I would rap, there was always a huge crowd watching and cheering me on.” After recording his first track, “Put Your Hands Up,” at 15, he knew that rapping was something he wanted to serious pursue.

Jaybird got the chance of a lifetime as a part of the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher, which he acknowledged as “a dream come true.” “I always said, ‘One day I'll be there,’ and God put me there. I will forever be thankful. That was definitely a blessing,” he said of the opportunity. In June the next year, the artist released his mixtape, One Shot. “On One Shot, I just wanted to give the world a taste of what I can do, what I stood for, and where I'm coming from,” Jaybird said. The project was engineered by RJ Colston, who works with Dr. Dre. The rapper also worked with a few up and coming producers, as well as Sendak from the band We Are Sirens to complete the tape. One of his favorite tracks is "Daygo," which has a Houston feel to the beat. “When I first heard the beat, I got really excited because I’ve never written a Houston style flow before,” he said. The funny part is that “Daygo” is a Texas style track written about Jaybird’s upbringing in San Diego!

Currently, Jaybird is working on his EP which will be released under Zobe Records. In terms of what he feels separates him from the many other artists out, he said, “I dance to the beat of my own drum, I don't rap about things I don't do, and I don't degrade women with the B word and the H word.” He’s definitely an artist on the rise to be on the lookout for, so be sure to check him out!

You can connect with Jaybird on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube!
How are you guys liking The Challenge: Free Agents?! I'm LOVING it, and I'm so glad that now that Scandal is over (I know you saw that crazy finale...¡Escandalo!), I can watch Free Agents at its normal time! Picking up from last week, there's definitely some love and lust in the air! At the beginning of the episode, Jessica and Dustin talk and flirt. Emilee wants him too, though, and knows Jessica is her competition. That night, the house has a costume party, celebrating another night back in the house. Dustin and Jessica make out in the staircase really quick, but Emilee makes her way into Dustin's bed! Dustin gets caught up playing the single game, but Nany catches him. Definitely think that Jessica is a better catch!

The next day, the players come to a racetrack and play "Auto Body Rally," during which T.J. lets them know that they will playing in pairs, with 13 guy-girl teams. The layout of the game is the players will race cars down the runway, stop before a set of hay bales, run around another set of hay bales to bikes for the final race. One person will steer the bike while riding backwards, and the other one will be pedaling. The team with the fast time will win, and be safe from elimination. The slowest four teams are going to the Draw, but everyone else still isn't safe, since the winners will get to pick two players to go to the elimination round (and it doesn't have to be a team!).
What T.J. also tells the players right before the challenge, is that the cars require them to drive stick! Most of the teams struggle a little bit with that, and with steering those bikes! After a fun race to watch (a lot of people, went down!) the winners of the challenge turn out to be Cohutta and Laurel, which is perfect since it's Cohutta's birthday!

That night, the house goes out to celebrate Cohutta's birthday, and put the fear of elimination behind them for a little bit! Again, love and lust is in the air! While Jessica and Dustin hange out, Emilee is bitter that Dustin picked Jessica over her! Meanwhile, CT gets pissed off about the tab that he has to pay ($750!(, and Camila goes off on him. She's drunk, and her crazy side ALWAYS comes out when she's drunk. Nany tries to defend her, but Camila eventually turns on her, and the two yell and fight! I knew it wasn't going to be too long before a stupid fight broke out. In my opinion, everyone was probably drunk, needed some good food, and then needed to go to bed! It was so dumb to watch, especially since they're friends. The next morning, they talk it out and forgive each other.

Meanwhile, Laurel and Cohutta talk out picking people for elimination, and it's definitely tough! Dustin and Jonna get sent in the elimination, but there are eight people still going in the Draw. Emilee and Frank get put in the elimination round, to play "Wrecking Wall." You have to punch and kick your way through the 30 foot wall to make a path to climb up and ring the bell. To no one's surprised, Jonna easily beats Emilee, ending her time in Uruguay. Frank and Dustin have a fight to the finish, but Frank, of course, takes it! I actually wanted to see Dustin make it a little farther, especially because of his budding relationship with Jessica, but oh well. Hopefully Jessica can shake it off, and remember why she's really there!

Tuesday's episode of The Game! Picking up from last week's episode, Chardonnay comes over Blue and Keira's place to talk about the vow renewal ceremony, and asks Keira to be her maid of honor. Keira asks why, since Chardonnay is closer with Tasha. However, Tasha is too busy with her baby stuff to fulfill maid of honor duties. Keira tries to lie to get out of it, but Blue reveals that Keira really doesn't have anything going on, and can do it!  Now she has to organize stuff and make calls for the wedding!

Meanwhile, Tasha talks to her midwife about how to prepare for birth. Kelly and Brittany come over, and Kelly and Tasha immediately start laughing and joking like old times. Brittany starts making fun of Tasha for being "50 and pregnant," to which Kelly responds by kicking her out with Kelly's credit card to go shopping.
Later, Keira is late to Chardonnay's wedding planning session because of something else that Chardonnay asked her to do. It's clear that Chardonnay is being a Bridezilla, and is especially jealous since Jason has already been married. She plans to have virtual invitations with a creepy guy announcing their ceremony. While Jason complains about the cost as always, Chardonnay decides to have customized iPads for party favors? It's all too much, especially since they're already married.

During a training session, Malik and Yana go on a run. When Malik tries to open up to her about his life again, Yana coldly passes him off (since he told her they should keep things strictly professional). Malik wants their friendship back. Yana boldly tells him if he's so inclined to have sex with every woman he meets, then they should just do it. The two have sex, and it gets realllyyyyyy wild and passionate! It sucks though, because I actually wanted Malik to just have a strictly platonic female friend, but I don't think he'll ever be able to do that. He was so close, though! Maybe if Yana had just been a lesbian, it could've happened. Afterwards though, Yana pushes Malik away, so I really don't think she wants anything. It was very awkward!

Later, B.o.B. comes over to audition for the wedding. Chardonnay sheds out a $15,000 check just for that! Jason walks away from it all, very irritated. After B.o.B leaves, Keira talks to Chardonnay alone about all the money that she's spending. Chardonnay is clearly trying to punish Jason and overcompensate for the fact that she's the second wife. If she really feels that way, then she should divorce him. However, she loves him, and Keira advises that she let it go before she loses Jason completely. Very good advice!

Kelly comes back over to Tasha's with Brittany, who got caught stealing. She's definitely acting out to gain attention from her parents, who both seem too busy with their own lives to be true parents to their daughter. Tasha's baby  Tasha's baby lessons continue, but Brittany talks bad about her again. Tasha goes off, but admits that she's afraid she won't be a good mother, and Kelly tries to comfort her saying that she'll help out. Brittany goes off, asking who is going to help Kelly be a good mother herself! While Kelly stands stunned, Brittany continues to go in about how Kelly is never there for her, but always manages to show up for Tasha, which I know had to hurt to the core. The girl storms out, leaving Kelly dazed!

Later, Kelly finds Brittany at a bar with a virgin drink. Kelly tells her that she's always there for her, but Brittany expresses all the times that Kelly was never there for her to just vent. She just gives Brittany her credit card to go shopping, but never spends any quality time with her. Kelly thinks that she's failed her already, but the two agree to take baby steps into repairing their relationship! I think this could be the perfect set up to have Brittany Daniel return back to the show as a regular. I would love to see Kelly and Chardonnay's interactions! Plus I really do want to see Brittany and Kelly grow as mother and daughter.

At the end of the episode, Jason turns off the power to save money since Chardonnay is spending it all up! Chardonnay hates that she's constantly picturing him kissing Kelly, but she made some changes to the wedding. She chooses her grandma's wedding dress to wear, saying that her grandparents had a simple wedding and their marriage lasted 60 years. She scraps all of that extra stuff, only wanting to focus on being with Jason, and making their own marriage last. Good for them! I really hope it does, because, in spite of all their ups and downs, they're great together.

I'm excited to recap the newest season of MTV's The Challenge--The Challenge: Free Agents! This episode and the next will be a struggle to review since MTV has the show on Scandal Thursday at 10 p.m exactly, but I'm still watching!

This season, which marks the 25th season of The Challenge, takes place in Punte Del Este, Uruguay, South America! 28 MTV alumni came together to battle it out (see the full list of competitors here). When TJ announces the game to them, he lets them know that this is definitely an individual game. At the beginning of each challenge, everyone will be part of a team, or pair, or go alone, but at the end of the day, there are no teams. Every player is playing for himself!

The scariest part is that a lot of this game is a game of chance. A guy and a girl will be chosen by the house (unless it's an individual challenge and you automatically go in). However, any member of the losing team or pair, can enter what is called "The Draw," where you pick a card to see who's going in to face the opposing girl and guy! Each week, two players will be eliminated, one guy and one girl. At the very end, there will be two grand winners, a guy and girl. Third place will take home $15,000, second place $35,000, and 1st place, $125,000!!!

The first few nights, of course, is all fun and games, though a lot of people are concerned about the layout of the game. They should be. This isn't really a game of alliances where people can carry you to the end. You have to really prove that you belong here. And, like I said, it's a game of chance. So no matter how well you do on a challenge, unless you WIN, you might get thrown into the battle for elimination.

The night before the challenge, the house gets a clue from TJ:  "Let's start off on a high note and determine who will be a real contender this season." Everyone automatically starts thinking that it will involve heights, and they were right. The next day, at the Uruguay World Trade Center, everyone sees a hanging platform over the building, which is the tallest building in the city at 42 stories. TJ announces they are playing "Out on a Ledge" For this challenge, they will be split up into two teams of 14 (Red and Black), and there will be three stages. Stage one is running the stairs. Six players will be chained together, and race up the stairs to the rooftop with a key. At stage 2, four players will use the key to unlock a box with a puzzle inside. puzzle. At stage 3, the last four remaining players on each team will have to walk the platform, manage to make it across a rolling log with a flag in the middle that they have to grab, and ring a bell to finish! The team with the fastest time overall will win!

To say that this challenge was crazy is an understatement. Having 12 people trying to make it through a narrow stairway up 42 flights is exhausting, especially when people try to block others from getting through! The Red Team manages to make it up it up first, and then try to hold off the Black Team at the door. However, Swift jumps over the team to grab the key, knocking Latoya into the wall in the process (she later has to leave the challenge to go to the emergency room). In the second phase, the Red Team, led by Chet, struggles to put the puzzle together, and the Black Team takes a big lead over them.

Though there was a big effort by the members on the Red Team to make it across the platform, especially with that rolling log, the Black Team takes the first challenge! Two people will be chosen by the black team to go into elimination, and another two will be put into the Draw. At their deliberation, it's difficult to get 14 people to come to a consensus. They're not a team, though, so who cares? Just make your own individual vote. Latoya and Chet are chosen individually, which pisses Latoya off. People see her as being weak since she's a rookie, and she went to the hospital on the first day. The rest of the team still isn't safe though. Half of the house ends up packing their bags, because it could be anybody going home!

At the Draw, they have to flip a block to decide if they make it. Whoever picks the Kill Card (a block "Balls In." The goal is to score a basket in a barrel, with the opposing players alternating offense and defense over 5 rounds. If the ball or the player goes out of bounds, that round is over. During his heat with Frank, Chet's face get cut up bad some kind of way on his chin. He has a choice to forfeit or play and get stitches later. Of course, pretty boy Chet decides to forfeit. I think it's weak, but I knew that Frank was staying regardless. He brings too much drama and is actually a good competitor anyway. During the heat with Jemmye, Latoya comes out with a vengeance, determined to prove to the rest of the house that she belongs here! After a great fight t to the finish, Latoya sends Jemmye home, and shows the house that she's a force to be reckoned with! I'm actually rooting for her, because she keeps it real, and showed that she's a strong competitor even though she's a rookie! Bet the house is scared now!
with a skull on it), will have to go in to face Latoya and Chet. Jemmye and surprisingly Frank get the Kill Card! The players face off in

David Letterman announced his retirement just last week after 21 years, but a new host has already been found for The Late Show! CBS announced today that Stephen Colbert will take David's spot!

Stephen currently stars on his own comedic news program, The Colbert Report, which has garnered several Emmys throughout the years since its premiere in 2005.

CBS announced the news in a press release, with President and CEO Leslie Moonves saying, "Stephen Colbert is one of the most inventive and respected forces on television. David Letterman’s legacy and accomplishments are an incredible source of pride for all of us here, and today’s announcement speaks to our commitment of upholding what he established for CBS in late night."

Stephen added, "Simply being a guest on David Letterman’s show has been a highlight of my career. I never dreamed that I would follow in his footsteps, though everyone in late night follows Dave’s lead." He joked, "I’m thrilled and grateful that CBS chose me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go grind a gap in my front teeth."

There's no set date for when Stephen will take over the show, but David's final signoff will be sometime in 2015. I'm definitely excited for Stephen to become the next host. I think he's really funny and more than capable of handling this big role! Congrats to him!

Excited to have some new music up! As always, singers, rappers, publicists, etc. email me with any amazing work you would like to be featured on The Spotlight

John Kendrick,or better known as Super Jay, is the epitome of a multifaceted artist. Often compared to Trey Songz because of his sultry vocals, Super Jay is a triple threat previously opening up for Trey Songz, J. Holiday, and is currently on his own "All of Me" tour that began April 4, 2014 in Ardmore, OK.

Beginning his career in Oklahoma City, OK, he dropped hit singles, "On the Set" and "Drunk Text" both debuting on YouTube and other top media outlets that earned him thousands of hits, views and popularity which has since put him on the industry's market to be one of R&B music's hottest singers. Not to mention, this 24 year old is a self-taught singer, writer and producer bringing an infectious and almost hypnotic sound to virtually every track he blesses. Harboring a truly unique and soulful voice that everyone can appreciate and admire while possessing a look and image that makes guys jealous and drives the ladies wild. He has also garnered the attention of major media outlets such as Complex and Essence Magazines.

Super Jay's latest single "Yo Body", produced by The Fam (producers of Drake's "Draft Day" single), has been described in a variety of ways including: "Pretty cool song... should get radio play.", " I think it's a cool track, good for radio.", "Love the record, it's a hit.", "HOT!", and "This song is fire."

Check out the sultry track below!

"'Yo Body” tells a story that most people can identify with," Super Jay explains. "We’ve all had that one person we have been in love with but they doesn’t seem interested in but they are is still coming around you. So you explain to that person how you really feel."

I LOVE this song! No exaggeration at all! It's sexy and smooth, and is definitely a hit. Like the different reviews, this track would be perfect for radio. It's catchy and not oversexual for the air. I'll be featuring Super Jay on the blog soon, so be on the lookout for that!

You can connect with Super Jay on Twitter and Instagram, and check out more of his music on SoundCloud! For bookings and inquiries, please contact The Latham-Capital Group at (769) 798-4439 or Charli Holbrook at charli@pslovecharli.com.

Another good night of The Game! Picking up from last episode, Jason makes Chardonnay breakfast with flowers and egg-white omelets to make up for kissing Kelly. However, Chardonnay is still mad that it happened and he lied about it. She wants him to feel the way she feels, and she wants to go kiss somebody in revenge! Jason tells her fine, but of course, he's not really cool with it!

Turns out that Keira still has her own place, though she stays over with Blue. Blue thought that they would be sharing one place, and Keira wants to make it happen. However, they disagree on who needs to move to whose place. Keira wants to still keep her own apartment, which I completely get. However, if they're going to move in together, they need to come to a decision together about what to do.

Later, Yana and Malik train. Tee Tee is soaking in the jacuzzi, feeling depressed still about his lawsuit . Somebody even did a drive by on his truck with raw chickens! A man allegedly died from salmonella, which might be a stretch, but who knows? Yana wants to law low herself because of her breakup, but Malik tells her that she needs to hang with her lesbian friends and have a good time. He even offers to be her wing man!

Meanwhile, Tasha tries to help Chardonnay find an outfit to find someone to kiss at the club. However, Chardonnay is still bitter about Kelly, and mad that Tasha didn't tell her sooner. Tasha knows that she's in the middle of the two, but if she had her choice, neither of them would be with Jason. However, she tells Chardonnay that if she doesn't make her point by kissing someone else, Jason will think he can do whatever he wants. I swear, sometimes I think Tasha is going to be the demise of their relationship, though. She always has the most advice to offer, and her love life is the messiest out of everybody!

Jason makes his way over to Blue's to ask him how he got past Keira messing with her co-star (while Keira is sitting there no less), so that he can find a way to get Chardonnay past him kissing Kelly. Even though Blue and Keira weren't together, and Jason and Chardonnay are MARRIED, Blue gives him advice. He thought about how he felt when he first met her, and that allowed him to move forward. He advises Jason to make Chardonnay remember why they fell in love in the first place. Keira, awed by Blue's answer, decides to move her things in Blue's place.

That night, Yana goes to party with Malik in tow to a lesbian club. A girl comes up to her and offers her a shot, and then to go somewhere else, but Yana quickly declines. When Malik asks her why, she says that she wants to be the one making the moves. They scan the club to see if they can find a cute girl for her. At that point, it was actually nice to see Malik friends with a girl, with nothing more happening! Yana's a good person for him to have in his life. However, he soon sees Tori, his past assistant. Of course, he's pissed off since her baby daddy Franko is the one who jacked up his arm. When Tori makes a crack at him getting beat up, Yana comes to his defense, and knocks her out COLD!

Back at his house, Malik and Yana laugh about the incident. Turns out Yana had a boyfriend before that taught her how to box. She's actually bisexual, not a lesbian. Now he thinks he has a chance! Malk decides that he wants to keep things professional, and not hang out as friends, thinking that them having sex will be inevitable. Looks like I spoke too soon about him just being able to be friends with a female, which sucks. Yana coldly walks out, letting him know that they have a session in the morning.

Later, Keira sadly looks at her apartment, saying goodbye to everything. She feels like this apartment is all she has to show for her career. She feels emotionally, spiritually, and "sexually" comfortable, which, at those words, Blue decides to move to her place instead!

Meanwhile at the lounge, Tasha and Chardonnay look out for guys, and they find a sexy guy. Tasha waves him over. Cameron sees the ring, and gets turned off a little, until they explain. Jason interrupts right at that moment, and Chardonnay says he needs to let this happen. However, Jason wants to set the reset button like Blue advised. He gets on one knee and proposes that they renew their vows and have a real wedding! Chardonnay kisses Javier and feels nothing, and takes the ring! After wiping off Javi's kiss, Jason kisses her, while Tasha watches with disgust! I'm happy for them. Hell, they got married in Tijuana, and neither of them can really remember it, so it'll be nice for them to have a real wedding!

A few weeks ago, I got a message from a particular MeetUp group I joined (though I have yet to actually meet up with anyone haha) about a free event at the Kennedy Center for Black Girls Rock! The event, formally titled Rock! Like A Girl, was an open concert held on April 5 as a part of the One Mic Festival that the Kennedy Center has been hosting for the past week or so that will continue until April 14 (definitely check it out!).

This special event celebrated women in hip hop, and featured artists like MC Lyte, Jean Grae,  Miri Ben-Ari, Ana Tijoux, DC female go go band Be'la Dona, Rapsody, DJ Beverly Bond (the founder of BGR), and the amazing Ms. Lauryn Hill!!!!! I mean, how many people can say that they've actually seen Ms. Hill LIVE?! My cousin and I went down, and had an amazing time! Standing in a line wrapped around the corner was definitely worth it, and we got to chat and chill with a few great people as well (special shout out to Ariel and her little baby Ky!)

I really did enjoy myself, and, as a black girl myself, am very proud of the work that DJ Beverly Bond is doing with this amazing foundation! As you can tell from the videos, we were definitely rocking in there! It was an honor and pleasure to be able to sit back and enjoy these talented ladies rock the mic, and just nice to get out and do something fun! I've been so caught up in work that I forget to live. (I'll talk more about that on BrittanyShawnte.com later this week). I had a great time!

Check out the videos below!

Another spotlight! My goal is to feature as many artists as I possibly can this year (I have a set number but I'm hoping to exceed it!). As always, if you would like your work to be featured on The Spotlight, email me and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Today, we have JproD (Jeopardy). Born in New Bedford, MA and raised in Bristol, CT, this bold artist recalls wanting to create music at the age of five! “Most of my childhood memories involve music,” he recalled. “Whether it was driving to my grandparents’ house with my mom, singing Mariah Carey or sitting behind the couch with a yellow Walkman, bumping “Mama Said Knock You Out.” At nine, he remembers writing emails to record labels asking them for a record deal. At that young of an age, J.Prod KNEW that he was going to be involved in the music industry in some way. However, it wasn’t until his senior year of high school that he gathered up enough confidence to pursue his music as a true artist. “There was a new teacher at my school. Never had him as a teacher, just kind of found myself in his classroom,” he recalls. “Long story short, he happened to be a former independent record label owner and he gave me the scoop. He also let me borrow his laptop and keyboard to make beats and record.” From then on, it was all about the music.

Growing up, JproD learned to be very independent, and enjoyed doing things on his own. “With my mom at work and busy with two other kids, I got to be alone a lot,” he said. His alone time clearly gives him time to think and creatively express himself in the music. “I put a lot of my real thoughts onto each song. I speak from the point of view of someone figuring out life on their own as they go,” the artist expressed. JproD admitted that he was somewhat of an outcast growing up, but didn’t care what people thought of him. “I did what I thought was cool. I never tried to be cool,” he said. “I don't try to be cool in my music. Could care less about your opinion. You don't feed me. You don't tuck me in at night,” he laughed.

More of JproD’s unfiltered thoughts can be heard on his upcoming mixtape, Regal, which will be hosted by JoJo Simmons. “I have been driving a 98' Buick Regal for about 3 years now. It has been the most consistent thing in my life for those 3 years,” he said. “[It] felt right, to talk about my past few years and call the project Regal. [It’s a] reflection of me in a way.” The artist declared that listeners will be moved to reflect on their own life through the project, and will be able to feel “the connection between art and life.” He continued, “They can look forward to a new sound. It won't be the same old bullsh*t they have been force feeding you.” The mixtape should be released sometime this summer.

In terms of his future in music, JproD wants to start playing instruments himself, as well as heading out on tour. However, he’s clearly focused on the music, and not the recognition. “All I care about is having genuine lyrics, attention grabbing hooks, [and] creating my own sound, “ he said. “I do what I think is dope. I would make music even if no one was listening, same way Mozart would play the piano alone at night.”

I definitely have a lot of respect for anyone who goes against the norm, and puts their all into what they want out of their work! JproD is definitely one of those artists! You can connect with him on Twitter and check out his website as well for more info.
Really late recap of last Tuesday's episode of The Game, but better late than never! Picking up from the intervention episode, after finding out that Jason spent alone time with Kelly, Chardonnay throws his stuff out of the house, and Brittany helps her! Jason tries to get back in with his key, but Chardonnay has changed the locks!

Meanwhile, at Phatty's, Tee Tee is depressed over this lawsuit. Tasha comes in and reveals to Malik that neither Pookie nor Rick have really responded on the news about the baby. Malik tries to comfort her, but she gets emotional and ends up having contraction pain, forcing her to sit down. At Malik's, the doctor pays a house visit and reveals that Tasha's having a girl and that she's doing just fine. It's ironic. All the years of Malik disrespecting women, and now he has a sister on the way!

At his house, Jason is staying outside and doesn't plan on going anywhere until Chardonnay talks to him. He has a nice little set up on the deck, with his clothes laid out and everything. When Chardonnay throws an orange at him angrily and locks the door, he chases her around the house outside playing guitar. He definitely messed up, but I know that he loves Chardonnay and wants to work things out.

On to my new favorite couple, Blue and Keira. At her apartment, while she's dancing around, Keira's flat iron catches fire, which causes her to have to move out for a few days. Of course, she goes to stay with Blue, and they love playing house together it looks like. They joke around, have sex, play cards and even play Dance Party on the Wii. However, Blue's snoring irritates Keira finally, annd she pushes him out of bed. The couple finds a balance when Keira gets some noice-canceling headphones, though! At the end of the episode, Keira is able to move back into her room. However, now that Blue is used to her being there, he thinks maybe she should move in. She thinks that he's proposing at first (you know how she tends to read too much into things), but she agrees to move in. Aww!

Later, Jason does an acoustic version of "How To Love" outside while Chardonnay watches. She goes over to confront Tasha, and tells her that after she gives birth, she's going to beat her down! However, Tasha tells her that she's having a girl, and Chardonnay gets really excited. However, she's still mad that Tasha didn't tell her about what happened with Kelly first. Tasha admits that Jason didn't do anything with Kelly, but talked about how happy his life is now with Chardonnay. Tasha apologies, admitting that she lost sight of how special her having a baby is, and now she wants to be a better friend.

At Phatty's, Malik announces to his waitresses that he's having a sister. Looks like he has a change of heart of how he's treating women. Now he wants to honor them and respect them. When they ask to wear longer uniforms, he instead gives them an extra day's pay and brings out Phat Boys to give them free burgers and fries. The ladies settle for that, of course. Afterwards, Tee Tee asks for him to buy him out for his legal fee. He thinks that he's bringing Malik down, and Malik hesistantly agrees. However, Tee Tee took it upon himself to move into Malik's house too!

At the end of the episode, Chardonnay talks to Jason about everything, admitting how upset she was knowing he lied. He was worried about losing her because he loves her. She tells him that from this point forward, they don't lie to each other. Since they're through lying, he hastily admits he kissed Kelly, and the episode ends! I'm not sure how Chardonnay is going to take this one!

Happy April all! I'm excited to have quite a few spotlights lined up in the coming weeks (as always, if you are an upcoming artist, producer, designer, etc., and are looking to be featured on the blog, feel free to email me, and I will get back to you as soon as I can).

Today, to bring in the new month, we have hip hop emcee A.R. Stylez (Always Real Stylez)! Hailing from Brooklyn, New York and raised by a single mother, A.R. grew up listen to good soul music from artists like Ben E. King, the Blue Notes, and Ray Charles.  He took an great interest in art at a young age, but as he got older, he found that he could "paint pictures through words." His first performance was at the age of 13 at the historic Knitting Factory in NYC, and it was clear that music was an outlet to express himself. The emcee said of Brooklyn's influence, "Every day you're reminded that you're in the city that never sleeps. Living in the hood, being introduced to violence, poverty, and struggle will make just about anyone what to pursue better."

Inspired by artists with great talent and impact like Tupac Shakur and Kanye West, this artist is steadily making a name for himself within NYC and beyond! His first mixtape, Realism, dropped in 2012, and he has performed at numerous local events and for colleges and lounges. He's also performed in a fashion show which was hosted by PumaSassy of VH1's Black Ink Crew, and been a hype man on stage with Styles PSheek Louch's entourage, The Lox, during an event at NYC's BB Kings. A.R. was also selected as one of the artists of the 2013-2014 Dean’s List College Tour and was asked to participate in the Xtreme Freshman Tour this year, which is a 14 city nationwide tour, sponsored by Xtreme 104 FM and C&C Entertainment Firm. The event hits NYC on April 23rd! ]

A.R.'s most recent release is his new track "Love The Way," produced by Let That Boy Cook (formerly known as Louder Sounds), which is about a man openly expressing his feelings for a woman. "I tapped into my personal feeling with the thought of people who could possibly relate," the rapper said. Check out the track below!

He's currently working on his upcoming mixtape, Practice Makes Perfect, a project that he has written over 30 songs for. "Overall I just want to display growth," he said about the tape. "Not only my growth   as an artist and man to my supporters, but the concept of Growth in general. Everything we pursue, or want to accomplish requires a growing and learning experience. The more you work on something, the better you become." He also has some other projects in the works, on the hush for now!

The emcee feels that something that separates him from other artists is his lyrical content. "My music has both influence & substance," A.R. stated. "I’m not afraid to be who I am. I’m not that street corner dealer. I’m not that guy who did 5 years for attempting murder. No disrespect to artist of that genre, but I’m just me. I look to inspire, teach, and motivate within my music." He continued on about his plans for his future, saying, "My dream and goal is to be able to make a solid living and foundation off giving my gift of music to the world." He wants to travel different places and connect with people from different races and cultures. "I also want to touch on a few other things, movies, magazines, who knows? If [it's] God will, it will come," he said.

You can check out more about A.R. Stylez on his official website and SoundCloud, and connect with him on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube!
