Moments ago, Rihanna dropped her video for newest single, "Where Have You Been," featured on her latest album, Talk That Talk. Gotta admit, when I first bought the CD and listened to this track, I wasn't in love with it at first, but I definitely love it now! This video makes the song all the better!

This visual was great! The outfits were hot, the setting was exotic, and the dancing was amazing! Haven't seen Rihanna dance in a while now...she pulled it off pretty well. I guarantee that you'll hear this in the clubs for Summer 2012! Wonder if it will go to #1?

Thegame-titlecard.pngLawd yall....Loyola is killing me haha. But some announcements. I am hoping that The Spotlight will back in full FULL swing (not just Game recaps!) next week. It's been a juggling act, but as I prep to graduate (24 DAYS!!!), things will calm down within the next week or so, so I'll be able to get back to you guys! Also, be sure to follow JWWWD (the online mag that Spotlight falls under), Celebrity VIP Lounge (the other celebrity blog that I'm interning for!), as well as my new Tumblr, Living in the Spotlight!

On to The Game! I know I missed last week, but yall didn't miss much. Derwin dealt with more backlash from missing his block for Kwan, including from Melanie. Pookie and Tasha continue having their sexual tension, while Chardonnay hosts a party for Jason's friends. However, this week marked a major change for Derwin and his family that I knew was coming!

But let's start from the beginning. While Pookie is packing to head back to Richmond, Tasha admits she doesn't want him to go. As the two continue to talk about their relationship, Malik interrupts as always (how he gets in, I don't know!). Pookie tells him that he and Tasha have been talking and may want to be more than friends. Malik forbids it, saying that Tasha drives men away (which can be true), and he doesn't want her to do the same thing with Pookie, who has been a stable father figure in his life.

Later, Janay comes over to talk to Melanie and Derwin while DJ is sleeping. As we know, Janay and her new boo Noah are getting married. Janay reveals that Noah got a job offer in New York, and, of course, Janay will go with him...along with DJ. Derwin, of course, goes off, because he is DJ's father, and wants to be involved in every aspect of his child's life. He refuses to have his son go anywhere and storms off. It's a tough situation, and I figured that something like that would happen when the show introduced Noah. While it's great that Janay is getting married and starting a new life with her man, Derwin is her child's father. A real father wouldn't want to be apart from his child, and definitely wouldn't want another man raising his son while he's away. It's hard to choose sides on this one.

While playing video games with Tee Tee, Malik vents about how he's upset with his mom for dating Pookie. Tee Tee gives it to him straight and tells him that he's selfish, and Pookie could be good for Tasha. Malik struggles to understand that, though.

The next day, Derwin and Melanie set up a tent inside for DJ to have some indoor camp fun. It brings Derwin back to his childhood. Mel brings up the issue of Janay and DJ moving to New York, and is concerned that Derwin will worsen the situation with them. Derwin says it's none of her business. While she tries to convince him, Derwin thinks that she is trying to push them away since DJ is not her son. Angered (especially because she has learned to love DJ like he's her own), she locks him inside the tent for a "timeout."

Back at Tasha's room, she and Pookie have a nice romantic dinner to celebrate his last night in San Francisco. Pookie tells her that he is enjoying his time with her, and wants to know if he can stay a little longer, which Tasha accepts. Tasha  admits that she is scared of this new love between them, and is used to being pushed off by men. As they continue their conversation, Malik interrupts again. He tells them that he can't stand in the way of true love, and gives them his blessing to date. After Malik leaves, Tasha and Pookie  try to have their first kiss, which is really REALLY awkward for them. Later, when Tasha tells Malik that it's not going to work, he gets mad because Pookie has been the only man in his life, and now thinks that Tasha messed it up.

Later, Derwin goes down to the Aqua Bar to meet with Janay. Derwin  admits that he realizes that they are in each other's lives forever. He gives her his blessing to take DJ to New York, and they both promise to work out arrangements for Derwin to be with his son as much as he can.

That night, Tasha takes Pookie to the airport, and they say their final goodbyes, which ended with the most romantic kiss ever. Basically because it wasn't planned. It just happened. Something tells me this isn't the end for them.

After meeting with Janay, Derwin tells Melanie that, during his "timeout," he thought about what she said. Melanie herself offers to work out arrangements so that Derwin can be with DJ as much as possible. Derwin admits that he is sad that he's not going to be around for DJ all the time like he's used to, but is also sad that it's been such a long time that he's been able to put a smile on Melanie's face. He gives her permission to have Tasha carry their baby, which makes Melanie's world!

Next week, Melanie informs Tasha that Derwin finally said yes on her carrying their baby. Chardonnay rides the bus and Jason informs her that his girl does not ride the bus, which sparks conflict about the commitment in their relationship. Until next Game Day!

Every Tuesday is Game Day, which means time for my Game recap! Swear that there will be more than just recaps coming back soon! Have to get through this stressful week first!
Enough about me and my college senior woes....back to The Game! Picking up from last week, during a game, Kwan and Derwin get into a serious fight at halftime, with the Sabers obviously still on their terrible losing streak. Meanwhile, up in the box seats, Melanie is excited that Tasha agreed to carry her and Derwin's baby, but it seems like Tasha has some doubts about it.

During the game, Derwin missed a block for Kwan, and Kwan's knee gets messed up pretty bad. With Kwan out for the rest of the game (and possibly rest of the season), Malik finally gets put into the game! With Malik in the game, the Sabers made a historic comeback win!

At a post-game press conference, reporters congratulate Derwin and Malik for the win, praising Malik with a proud Tasha standing by. However, with Derwin being the lead blocker for Kwan, many reporters question what really happened. Derwin missed the block, but the replay looked like Derwin could have easily blocked for him. Everyone knows that Kwan and Derwin have a bad relationship, and now people wonder if Derwin missed the block on purpose. Upset by everyone questioning him about the issue, Derwin decides to take no more questions, and walks off.

Later, Derwin becomes the subject of a lot of sports debate, even on The Pitts Stop. Melanie tries to get candy to make him feel better, and tells him that the media is only reaching for a story on him because they know that they have nothing bad on him. In media, there is always another story right around the corner, and Melanie tells Derwin that another leading sports story will take over soon enough. She even makes a bet that Malik will get in trouble agin and ruin his renewed superstardom! However, Jason runs a fake play on the show that showcases how Derwin idly stood by, missing the block, which upsets Derwin, and he walks away again.

That night, Melanie convinces Derwin to go out to dinner. Before they go, the couple heads to the gas station, where they encounter some Saber fans who heckle Derwin. A man even spits on the windshield of the car and calls him a disgrace. Later on, Malik tries to advise Derwin in the situation, telling him not to stress too much about it, and stop worrying about his squeaky clean image.

At the end of the episode, Melanie decides to have a "truth moment" with Derwin. At the same time, Derwin admits he missed the block on purpose, and Melanie says that she wants Tasha to be her surrogate. She can't believe that he would do that, and calls him an ass. However, Derwin is determined to keep his legacy alive by any means necessary, and Melanie lets him know that Kwan's career could be over for good because of "the legacy." Melanie is beginning to wonder if Derwin is holding her back from her dreams because of the legacy. Derwin refuses to have Tasha be the surrogate, and, yet again, walks away from the conversation, leaving Melanie upset and disappointed. I wasn't surprised that Derwin missed the block. I figured he did it on purpose from the minute Kwan was being escorted off the field. Not that the man deserved it, but now that he's out, Malik can play again. They needed to set that storyline up somehow.

There's rumors I read on different blog sites that it's possible that Melanie and Derwin might be headed for divorce. This is going to be the start of a very rough patch for them, but I will seriously be upset if a divorce happens! Every couple has their hard times, but Melanie and Derwin are meant to be, and have come too far in their relationship to split in my opinion. But you never know what these writers have up their sleeves! Hosea Chanchez (who plays Malik) announced last night on Twitter that BET has renewed the show for a sixth season, so there will be more drama to come!

Picking up from last Game Day, Derwin's ghetto play cousin Jalil heads up to Melanie and Derwin's house while Melanie's alone. Of course, Melanie is freaking out at first, and calls the police. However, when Derwin gets home and explains who he is, Melanie is annoyed and wants him to leave. However, Jalil plans to "look into job prospects" and smash while he's out here, all while staying at Derwin's.
Back at Malik's, he has let his mail pile up, which he "could've read on the bench" according to Tasha (mad low blow! haha). Malik is invited for a dedication to the library at his old elementary school, which will be in his name because of his continued generosity. Tasha wants to use the event to rehabilitate his image, but Malik refuses to go. He feels like he's supposed to go back to Richmond as a hero, not a benchwarmer. However, Tasha ends up convincing him to go.

Later, Melanie becomes more and more upset about all of the annoying things Jamil does, like not fully rinse utensils or whatever. Derwin kinda wants him to go too, but doesn't want to turn his back on his friends, saying that people will think he thinks he's better than them now that he's an athlete and has money. Melanie tells him to tell Jalil that it's she who is uncomfortable in the situation, which is the truth.

Tasha, Tee Tee and Malik head back to Richmond. They go back to see Grandma Mack (guest star Loretta Devine), and his entire family surprises him. Tasha and her mother seems to have a lot of tension. You can see where Tasha gets her comebacks from as Grandma Mack makes fun of her in front of the entire family, especially on Rick Fox, saying, "He was on Dancing With the Stars longer than he was with you!"

While trying to get Jamil out of the house, Derwin upsets Melanie with some of the things he says, as she eavedrops by the door. Jamil arranges for Derwin to make an appearance at Bulletproof (which apparently ain't so bulletproof), and Melanie tells him that it's a great idea, trying to get back at Derwin.

In Richmond, turns out that Tasha's mother is still upset that Tasha had Malik at 15. Something that happened almost 30 years ago is still having a negative impact on their relationship. Tasha tells her mother that respects her, but wishes she did the same for her.

Over at Bulletproof, mad people show up wanted to see Derwin, and, with very little security available, he runs into a utility closet with Jalil. He realizes that Jalil has always been getting him in trouble, and goes off on Jalil. The club starts shooting. Jalil apologizes for this and the other many messes he's gotten Derwin into, and Derwin forgives him, though claiming he can't stay at his house anymore!

After talking to family friend Pook, Tasha finds out that all Grandma Mack talks about when Tasha is gone is Malik and her. Grandma Mack still loves her.

Derwin heads home and talks about Bulletproof like it was amazing, but Melanie already saw the news of what went down at the club. Mel feels like he threw her under the bus with his convo with Jalil, and wanted to pay him back. The couple laugh it all off.

At the end of the episode, Malik admits that he didn't want to come out to Richmond, since he was embarrassed about his current situation with the Sabers. However, he realizes that family has always been there for him even when the rest of the world isn't. They were there when he was up, and they're there now that he's down.

On the next episode of The Game, Derwin gets into yet another fight with new quarterback Kwan. Melanie wonders if Tasha is in the surrogate plan 100% and she reveals to Derwin the plan, which Derwin doesn't seem to back.
