I wasn't sure if I was going to do a review of The Game this season (partly because I'm mad at BET putting Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Pooch Hall down as recurring characters, thus forcing Tia's hand to leave the show). However, it's a tradition that I've done since the show moved to BET, and because I've been watching this show since the very beginning, I feel a sense of loyalty.

Picking up from last season, the premiere starts off with footage of all of the characters present day.  Jason (Coby Bell) and Chardonnay (Brandy) are still together going strong, Malik (Hosea Chanchez) is being the typical man-ho that he used to be before Jenna, Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) is still her same old crazy self, and Derwin (Pooch) is in training. Of course, we see two new characters Keira Whitaker (played by Lauren London) and Bryce "Blueprint" Westbrook (played by Jay Ellis) as well.

Everyone's in New York. At the 2013 Pro Football Draft, Jason is reporting, while Malik and Derwin discuss their own draft experiences. The guys also discuss new dude Bryce who is said to be the game-changing player this football season. In that moment, Baltimore selects Bryce to join their team as the #1 pick.

Meanwhile, Keira is a seasoned actress who starred in a 90s sitcom and wants new challenges. However, no one really takes her seriously. At a meeting about a new role, the director tells her that he will give her an extra role for no money IF she will get him a date with her agent. She angrily walks away from the table.

Tasha and Chardonnay talk over drinks, with Chardonnay branching out into NY fashion...which isn't always the best look for her ha! Tasha is still getting texts from Rick Fox, even though she's with Pookie! It's clear that she will have to choose between them later on in the season. Right then, Bryce was quickly traded from Baltimore to the San Diego Sabers, and they traded Derwin to do it...on LIVE TV. That, of course, changed the game seriously! Derwin is definitely on the verge of losing it as he walks out of the crowded room, and Jason tries to keep him together. Malik is pissed off as well, and angrily approaches the owner. The owner got rid of Derwin because of Derwin's altercation with quarterback Kwan last season that put Kwan on the injured list.

In his hotel room, Derwin is eerily quiet. Jason plays "Dance With My Father" to lighten the mood, but Derwin is still in shock. Everything for him is in San Diego now, even though Melanie is in Baltimore for her residency. He feels betrayed. He's being traded to "the worst team in the league in the most dangerous city possible." His words, not mine! (Ironically Baltimore won the Super Bowl this year HA!).

We see that Bryce is the cockiest dude on the field. Already girls are coming to him. His dad (played by William Allen Young, Frank Mitchell from Moesha), is very much involved in his career. Keira bumps into him and he asks her if she wanted his autograph. She doesn't even know who she is, nor cares. She kisses him though, and shows him that the blogs will take that kiss and turn it around to be way more than it is. He'll see the real cost of fame soon.

At his party, Malik is still upset about Derwin being traded. He's started drinking again. Jason congratulates Bryce to try to get an interview with him, but GMA already has the exclusive. Jason wants to be taken seriously as a sports journalist, but all he tends to get are fluff pieces. Keira is also at the party. She and Bryce have a brief exchange on Twitter. The chemistry continues.

Derwin comes by the party to let out some steam. He and Malik drink, while he continues to ignore Melanie's calls. Derwin approaches Bryce ready to fight, because he feels Bryce stole his spot. Of course, Bryce gets smart, and Derwin head butts him and they fight. Derwin has officially lost it, and Malik and Jason try to calm him down. The Sabers are his family, and he is upset, but Malik tells him to get it together. Malik realizes in that moment that the owners run the game, and the players are just pawns. Jason tells him that it doesn't matter where any of them play. They play because they love the game.

Later, Keira walks with Bryce to his room and acts to be concerned about his "eye." He was also half naked too, so I'm sure that caught HER eye! Keira tells him that he has to get it together himself, and not fall for everything that will happen in this game. They talk about the pros and cons of fame, and laugh with each other. It's clear that there's chemistry between them, and they kiss. They're interrupted by Tasha who wants to talk to Bryce about being a part of the Sabers. Keira answers the door, as Bryce runs to the bedroom.

Tasha gets into agent mode, and marches in the bedroom to tell Bryce how to handle the fight with Derwin in front of the press. However, he is there laying on the bed, butt naked! He assumed that Keira wanted to have sex with him after that kiss. She gets offended, and leaves.

In the limo, Malik is drunk and messy as hell, as Tee Tee and Malik's bodyguard look on in disgust. Tee Tee wants him to go to AA, while his assistant is just enabling him. Malik feels like he might as well drink because he feels like he's not in charge of his own life. Tee Tee tells him that he used to be the same way under Malik, but he changed his mindset and went after his own dream. He gets through to Malik, who decides to go to AA in that moment.

At the end of the episode, Tasha goes to talk to Derwin about his trade. He's trying to look at the good of the situation (that he and Melanie get to be in the same place). But he wanted to leave on his own terms. He felt invincible, and now he realizes he's not. She encourages him to move forward with his life in spite of this.

Ciara, who appeared as one of Keira's friends in the episode, ends up having sex with Bryce, showing that he'll get it from whoever with this newfound fame. However, as he's leaving, he sees Keira in the room. She tries to shrug it off, but it's clear she's upset.

Back at her room, she and Pookie have a little FaceTime date, which is cute! After the call, Tasha calls Rick to tell him why she hasn't been returning his calls. She tells him in his voicemail that she still cares about him, but she is happy and wants to let the past go. But in the middle of the call, she is interrupted by the doorbell, and it's Rick!

Later, Derwin is leaving and gives a look back at the camera, showing that it's time to move on to his new life phase (for those who don't know Pooch has a new role on a show on Showtime now). It's sad to a loyal viewer like me that Melanie and Derwin are gone. They were such a huge part of the show from beginning to end. But bravo to both Pooch and Tia for moving forward!

The show is no longer a comedic show like it was in the past. There's a few chuckles here and there, but it's pure drama now. Changes have happened. Even the video is different. I've accepted that. However, I actually liked this episode! The storylines are keeping my interest, and I actually do want to know and see more with Lauren and Jay's characters! We'll see how the rest of this season pans out!

What did you think of the season 6 premiere of The Game?

“I just heard the music and had to play it twice before it hit the air. You have extreme talent and I know you are gonna be the next big thing….”--Byrant Corbitt, Radio Personality, Dothan, AL
Here is another spotlight for you all! (For upcoming artists, designers, producers, etc., who are interested in a feature on the blog, email me! I'm open to any genre or style.) Today, we have KlearJ, an upcoming hip hop/rap artist from down in Atlanta (where we know a lot of the biggest music is hailing from).

KlearJ has worked with multiple artists and DJs over the last few years, networking and grinding to the top!

The rapper got an early start in music being raised by a family of musicians. His grandfather was an early songwriter for Atlantic Records, and his father was a local Gospel/Soul-Singer and songwriter. In 1992, KlearJ decided that hip hop was for him, with artists like Kris Kross, Das EFX, and the Notorious B.I.G. serving as his influences. After leaving Atlanta in 1995 and settling into Eufaula, Alabama for ten years, KlearJ moved back to the ATL (where we know some of the biggest artists in the industry are hailing from!). Having honed his rap skills in Alabama, the rapper is now taking advantage of the huge music scene that Atlanta has to offer! "Many have described my sound as unique, new and gritty, but also parallel to some of the greatest southern hip-hop artist such as T.I., Bun-B and Big K.R.I.T," the rapper said.

Check out his new track "Bwai Stop" featuring Grand Champ & Tiny Teazzy below! The track will be featured on KlearJ's upcoming mixtape ABSTRACT which will be released in April!

You can connect with KlearJ on Facebook and Twitter, as well as check out his ReverbNation page  to hear even more of his music!
Yall know that I love to spotlight upcoming artists on the blog, and I'm definitely getting back into doing more as the year goes on! So, of course, I had to highlight my boy Smash Adams, as he performed at the Chit Chat Lounge down in Atlanta this past weekend. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it (one day blogging will be the only job I have and need). My friends did though, and, needless to say, I missed a good show.

You can follow Smash on Twitter and Instagram! He's constantly posting about his upcoming music and performances for the fans, so be sure to check him out! Watch the performance below!

Good news for Veronica Mars fans—a movie for the canceled series is in the works! After a Kickstarter campaign was created on March 13 to raise $2 million to bring Kristen Bell's character to the big screen on, fans raised the money (and then some!) after only one day! People must have really loved that show!

"Hallelujah! It's a green light my friends," tweeted Rob Thomas, creator of the show which aired from 2004-2007. "I love you all, but particularly the donors among you." Kristen also wrote, "I love you guys. You are all SO spectacular. I am speechless." "Dear pope," she added, shouting out newly elected Pope Francis. "I'm sorry VM fans stole your thunder on your 1st day. I mean, I'm not really that sorry, but I thought it would be polite to say so. XO."
Rob kicked off the Kickstarter on Wednesday with a challenge on the page: "Here it is. Our one shot to see a Veronica Mars movie happen. Kristen is in. I'm in. Let's do it!" The creator told Forbes that the Kickstarter was created to "gauge fan interest" and their hope was to raise $2 million in one month. Well, fans collected over $1 million in just four hours and got the job done after one day -- and they're still donating. "Keep in mind that the more money we raise, the cooler movie we can make," he wrote on the page.

Fans were also given an incentive of various gifts they would receive depending on how generously they donated. If they pledged $10 they would receive an emailed copy of the script, but if they pledged $10,000 or more they would get "a speaking role in the movie." People are crazy enough to do it too!

I was never a huge fan of the show, but I might actually check it out on Netflix or something from the beginning and see if I get into it. I’ve been on this kick where I watch series that I’ve never seen from beginning to end for the hell of it (I finished 9 seasons of One Tree Hill about a month ago haha!). Congrats to the show’s cast and crew for actually getting their movie!

First Lady Michelle Obama is looking absolutely beautiful on the April cover of Vogue! For her second appearance in the fashion mag, Ms. Michelle is rocking her new bangs with a great sleveless blue dress that show off her toned arms.

In her interview with the magazine, First Lady Michelle reiterated how important parenting is to both her and President Barach Obama, and how they keep daughters Malia and Sasha #1 in spite of their hectic schedules. "Our job is, first and foremost, to make sure our family is whole. You know, we have small kids; they're growing every day," she explained. "But I think we were both pretty straightforward when we said, 'Our No. 1 priority is making sure that our family is whole.'"

The First Lady also talked about lessons she learned from her husband. "Well, patience and calm I'm borrowing. Or trying to mirror. I've learned that from my husband, that sort of, you know, ability to not get too high or too low with changes and bumps in the road," she said of the President. "To do more breathing in and just going with it. I'm learning that every day. And to the extent that I’ve made changes in my life, it's just sort of stepping back and seeing a change not as something to guard against but as a wonderful addition. . . that can make life fun and unexpected."

The April issue of Vogue hits stands March 26!

A special shout out goes out to Miss Tamar Braxton as she announced today on Good Morning America that she is pregnant! This will be the first child for her and her husband Vincent Herbert.

Later, the mommy-to-be took to Instagram to share a pic of her baby bump. "I have a love on top! I am pregnant!" Tamar (referencing Beyonce's "Love on Top" performance at the VMAs in 2011) told ABC's Lara Spencer. "I feel great and greedy at the same time. This is the most I've eaten ever." She also mentioned that she doesn't have that far to go so the baby might be here sooner than we think!

Fans of Braxton Family Values as well as Tamar and Vince have been wondering when Tamar would finally have a baby! I'm so excited for her!!! Had to refrain from screaming at work as I type all this haha! Congrats to Tamar and Vince and their families!

The View's circle will possibly be broken. Reports are looming that Joy Behar might be leaving the popular daytime talk show. Her contract is up, and she wants to move on to possibly host her own interview show, according to Deadline.com. Joy is the second-to-last cast original cast member to remain on the show since it first aired 16½ years ago. Should she leave, Barbara Walters will be the only one remaining.

Her other project is her current TV show, Joy Behar: Say Anything! that debuted in 2012.

I don’t watch The View regularly but when I do, I LOVE Joy. She and Whoopi Goldberg together make the ultimate tag team to me. I feel like if she does end up leaving, her presence will be greatly, greatly missed. But onwards and upwards I guess…she’s 70 and still working hard and wants to get into other ventures. No one can fault her for that.

Seems like Kate Middleton might have let the cat out of the bag on the sex of her and Prince William’s unborn child! In an accidental slip up Tuesday, the Duchess of Cambridge dropped a little bit of a hint at an event.

While visiting the English town of Grimsby, Kate received a teddy bear from someone in the crowd. Sandra Cook, who was there that day, claims she heard the mom-to-be say, "Thank you, I will take that for my d-..." and then stopped abruptly.

Sandra added, "I said to her: 'You were going to say daughter, weren't you?' Kate replied that the couple don't know the sex, and, "We're not telling."

Mmhmm! So we can expect a baby GIRL to be added to the royal family? Tell the truth Kate!

Taylor Swift was open and candid in her interview for the April issue of Vanity Fair, discussing her music, the media’s opinion of her, and her infamous breakups with boy pop stars.

It’s no secret that many believe that Taylor is a clingy, boy-crazy young girl that only writes love songs, a rumor that Taylor strongly refutes. “Everybody in these tabloidy gossipy blogs, they think they have you pegged, like 'Taylor's boy-crazy'...For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her...that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist,” she said. "I'm sick of the tabloids saying I obsess over guys. Why would you obsess over guys? They don't like it."
According to the mag, Taylor did give a friend permission to spill the beans about her past relationship with One Direction’s Harry Styles. The friend said that the singer went after Taylor for a year, eventually wearing her down and getting close with her…and then was photographed making out with another girl. (Harry’s rep told the mag this was "undeniably false," but who knows what the real deal is). Taylor’s friend continued saying that the couple got back together, though Taylor didn’t fully trust him. However, they broke up again before the Grammys, where Taylor seemed to be making fun of Harry’s English accent when she opened the show with “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." You can read more of the interview in the new issue of Vanity Fair (which Taylor looks great in!).

Regardless of what people say, I like Taylor more and more as time goes on. I’ve had “I Knew You Were Trouble” on repeat for the past few days now. Her songs are catchy and fun, perfect for the teen girl demographic that her brand is made for (I'm 22, and I still like her!). She’s not for everybody, but she’s perfect for many! I give her props because that girl can sell some albums!

Brody Jenner is officially back to reality TV! The reality tv star, best known for his appearances on MTV's The Hills and Bromance, will appear in new episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians!

The show returns for its eighth season in July. Brody's rep said he "is joining the show but may not be in every episode. It depends on the storyline." He was spotted shooting scenes with pregnant stepsister Kim Kardashian at Barney's in Beverly Hills on Thursday, Feb. 21.

Brody, son of Olympian Bruce Jenner and pageant queen Linda Thompson, previously appeared in three episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and one episode of Kourtney & Kim Take New York.

Apparently, since he broke up with Avril Lavigne last year, Brody "has been chilling," a source said. "He's trying to figure out to do with his life." Well I guess in the meantime, he can go back to what he knows which is reality TV. Though at 29, I think you ought to know what you want to do with your life, but that's just me. I did always wonder why Brody was never featured as much, but just chalked it up to him not hanging around them as much. It's a living!
