Rapper 8More is back with a new video! "Decoy" is a single from 8More's mixtape Endustry 8, which was released back in 2012. The single has created a nice buzz for the West Philly rapper, so he decided to re-release it. The visual itself was shot by Cloudvizion Film with production done by 8MPBeatz.

Check out the video below!

I'll have some new stuff from 8More up very soon, so be on the lookout! For now, you can check out 8More's most recent project, Endustry 8.2, on Dat Piff! You can also connect with him on Twitter and YouTube.
There was no new episode of The Game last week since The Book Of Negroes was showing on BET (I strongly recommend it!). Picking up from last episode, Jason confides in Malik about his upcoming date with Kelly. Malik try to give Jason some pills in case he has sex with Kelly. At first, Jason refuses to take them. However, when Malik makes him questions about whether or not he is enough for Kelly now, Jason accepts the pills anyway!

Meanwhile, Tasha has a meeting with Blue, congratulating him for his hard work and success on the field. She wants to add him as a client. Blue, however, is looking for a bigger management company, though. He wants big endorsements, and he really doesn't know if she is a good fit for him. However, Tasha feels like no one knows him, or, if they do, they know him as a cornball. Blue feels like Tasha is off her agent game, stating how they only came downstairs to the restaurant from her condo, and that she even brought the baby to the meeting. Where's the effort to really snag him? When Tasha begins to breastfeed Kyra at the table, the owner tells her she can't do that in the restaurant. Blue quickly takes a stand for her, which, of course, someone records!

Later, a girl named Bianca comes over to see Malik, claiming to have "accidentally locked herself out of her room." Malik still has the bet with Keira that he can't refrain from sex, so he brushes her off at first. However, when Bianca drops her robe, that bet is out the window! Malik gives Keira the bag he promised her if he had sex, though he admits he really is trying to change. He doesn't want Yana to be right about the fact that he can't love anyone or anything else besides football, and really wants to commit. He asked Keira how she was to abstain from sex. She reveals a few tips like wearing ugly panties, staying away from certain movies, and giving a little self-love! This is a very sexual conversation, and it gets deeper when Keira admits that once she and this guy wanted to have sex really bad, and she let him watch her masturbate! At that moment, Malik and Keira seem to be feeling some sexual tension, but Blue comes in and breaks up the moment unknowingly!

That night, Jason has a beautiful date planned for Kelly with their song even playing in the background. However, Kelly brings their daughter Brittany and ruins the entire vibe! I guess she wanted to make sure that Jason wasn't going to try anything, but that was terrible. After dinner, Jason kicks Brittany out, with Kelly eventually stating that she didn't feel wooed at the date. I wanted to backhand her! She completely killed the date and Jason's mood by bringing Brittany. She didn't even give Jason a chance to woo her by doing that. No one wants to have a third wheel along for a romantic evening, even if it is their daughter! The two argue, with Kelly eventually storming off.

At Tasha's the next day, Chardonnay comes over with something urgent to tell her. However, Tasha is more worried about Blue's video on Bossip of him standing up for. Tasha also worries that she really has lost it as a top agent, and wants to get back on her A game, completely brushing off Chardonnay.

At Blue and Keira's apartment, Blue is getting a lot of love for his video still. On the phone, he leaves Malik and Keira to watch a movie, which has an intense sex scene. They both get in their feelings and go to self love in separate bathrooms. Malik comes back looking refreshed, and Keira comes back hungry. When Blue gets off the phone, Malik quickly and awkwardly exits. It's clear that these two are starting to feel something for each other, and I really am for it! Like I've said in a previous recap, I think that Malik understands her better.

Later, Jason goes to see Kelly and apologize. He slides the letter that he wrote for her at the Baggers premiere, and she loves it! Kelly lets him in, but challenges him to stay there all night with her and just talk, as she lays in just her bra and panties! Completely unfair, but Jason obliges!

Meanwhile, Tasha goes to see Blue and reveals that she used that video to get him an endorsement deal with the Westin Hotel, proving that she's not lazy and will work hard for him. Blue is impressed, and believes that his cornball image needs to be changed. However, they just need to partner with the right people that go along with who Blue is. Blue agrees to give her a trial run, but it will include 10% for Tasha.

At the end of the episode, sadly, when Tasha goes to see her, Chardonnay announces she will be leaving San Diego for good! She tried to tell Tasha before, but Tasha was too busy worrying her career. Chardonnay signed the divorce papers, dropped the lawsuit, and is only keeping Spadonnay. She feels like she needs a fresh start, and wants to leave everything behind. Tasha sadly understands, and they have an emotional goodbye. Very sad. I'm secretly hoping Chardonnay comes back though. I like Brandy on this show!

Can’t believe we are so close to the end of The Challenge: Battle of the Exes 2! Picking up from last week, the game is down to FIVE couples: Leroy & Nia, Jay & Jenna, Wes & Theresa, Zach & Jonna, and Jordan & Sarah.  Back at the house after the Dome, Leroy and Nia are still upset at the fact that Jay and Jenna threw them in. Honestly, I expected both of these teams to be gone way before now, especially Jay and Jenna. However, I think people are just keeping them around because they pose no threat and could be easily beaten when it comes down to it.

The next day, Sarah opens up to a few of the girls about her struggles with Jordan. Theresa suggests writing a letter to him, which she does. It’s so important for them to be on the same page! Sarah and Jordan are a strong team, and could actually win this thing if they work together like they have for the majority of the challenge! After Jordan reads the letter, the pair apologizes to each other and hug it out.

At the next challenge, the teams walk up to see two big trucks on a road. T.J. announces they'll be playing "Speed Dating." The teams will be jumping from one tractor trailer to another while they are moving at 30 mph! At the signal, the girl partner will jump from one truck to the other, which holds a wall that has balls for them to collect inside. The girl will grab two balls at a time, and then the boy partner will jump and get two. They switch until they collect all the balls, or come to the end of the road. There’s a few more twists, though. In addition to the trucks moving, at certain points marked by smoke, the rigs will be separated and the teams will not be able to jump. Also, it’s imperative that the guys must stay on the outside of the girls, or their safety cables will get tangled. The team who collects the most balls will win Power Couple, and the team that collects the least will be headed straight to the Dome!

Once you get past that initial fear of jumping onto a moving truck, it actually looks like a huge adrenaline rush! Most of the teams do very well. Unfortunately, Jordan and Sarah get their ropes crossed, and aren’t able to collect many balls. Jay and Jenna’s ropes get twisted too, but they are able to get theirs untangled and snag a few more balls than Sarah and Jordan. Unfortunately, even though they finally got their team morale back, Sarah and Jordan get last place and have to go to the Dome. Though Zach and Jonna technically had the most balls, they were deducted a ball since Zach jumped early before Jonna made it back on her turn. That means there’s a three-way tie, so it came down to time. Leroy and Nia completed their turn the fastest, so they win Power Couple.

Back at the house, Zach and Jonna try to have a conversation about the challenge and their partnership. Zach admits he messed up today, surprisingly, and that maybe he hasn’t been the best partner. To Jonna, she's not a bad partner, and everything is not always her fault, though Zach always tries to make it that way. When Zach gets rude yet again, Jonna walks away from the conversation. Zach is fine as hell, but he’s a jerk, and he always will be. Jonna’s going to focus on winning, but doesn't want to see him after this. I don’t blame her one bit.

At the Power Couple dinner, Leroy and Nia plan to talk to everyone, and act like they're doing a deal with them all. Then they will surprise everyone with who's going in. Wes, who admits that Zach is his number one, is secretly plotting to get rid of Zach because Zach's strong. He plays Leroy and Nia by saying that if Zach and Jonna were no longer in the picture, the two of them could be connected with Wes and Theresa.

Because Leroy and Nia really have no alliance, they admit to Zach that they’ll be throwing him and Jonna in. Zach, of course, is pissed, but plans on coming back for revenge. At deliberation, Leroy and Nia stick to their word, and send in Jonna and Zach. The next day, the two of them get upset at Jay and Jenna, who they claim should say thank you to them. They claim to be showing these rookies respect, but they need to stop lying. Everyone knows that Jay and Jenna are really scapegoats that they will use in the Dome to win if need be in these next few days before the Final. There’s no respect in that.

At the Dome, T.J. announces that the teams will playing “Hammer It Home.” There are two giant i-beams, and the goal is for each team to hammer the i-beam into the end zone. Zach and Jordan will hit the beams to the halfway mark, and Sarah and Jonna will finish it up. Though Zach has power in his swings, he lacks efficiency, and Jordan, even with one hand, ends up passing him. People always talk about him only having one hand, but he still comes through in a major way! Though Jonna gives it her all to make up for Zach’s slack, Sarah beats her, sending Zach and Jonna home. I'm so happy, because I really do love Sarah and Jordan as a team! Sucks for Jonna, but Zach was irritating me anyway, so I don’t mind them leaving.

Next week, I think the winning team of the Battle of the EX-iled is coming back! I’m about 85% sure it’s going to be Nany and Bananas, and I can’t WAIT to see the look on everybody else’s faces!!!! An amazing twist!

Another great episode of Being Mary Jane last night ! Picking up from last week, Niecy meets with Trayvion's father Cameron. She's very annoyed by him, since she hasn't heard from him in two years. He wants to change now that he has lost his college scholarship. Eventually, he kind of wears her down, as they joke with each other. After Niecy breaks her diet and eats chicken wings, Cameron states that they can get back on their fitness together. That sparks a whole discussion of how there is no "them" in Niecy's mind. Cameron wants to be involved in his son's life, but Niecy doesn't plan to just let him walk in without being able to trust him, which is understandable. I'm not sure how this is going to work out!

Meanwhile, Mary Jane babysits Trayvion and Isabelle, and talks with Helen over the phone. She asks Helen when she and Niecy will make up, and Helen says when she learns respect. Apparently when Niecy first started living there, she used to help out, but then she got comfortable. That's easy to do when you have everybody, especially Mary Jane, catering to you! Though Mary Jane talks about how Niecy is making positive changes in her life, specifically with her health, but Helen has doubts. While Helen rants on, MJ holds Isabelle with such adoration, that it's clear she really wishes she had a child of her own.

Later, Dante's mother comes to pick Isabelle up to spend some time with her side of the family. Turns out that Dante is staying with his uncle, and he got yet ANOTHER girl pregnant! Isabelle is going to
have two siblings. When will these kids learn?! Dante's mom complains about how people don't do things the right way, and in the right order in terms of getting married and then starting a family. Mary Jane voices her opinion that sometimes things just can't go that way, but Dante's mother doesn't agree.

At work the next day, Kara is shown video from a female focus group from Las Vegas shows that some women don't connect with Mary Jane. Kara gets very irritated because MJ's numbers are steady, though it's pointed out to her that, while the ratings are steady, they aren't rising. The simple formula with any show, whether it's news, sitcoms, or reality shows, is simple: ratings equals advertising equals money.  Their specific goal is to get more viewers in the Latino market specifically (is it me or is Kara struggling with her identity as a Latina especially at work?). Mary Jane's job could very well be at risk. Kara is then told to keep all of this a secret from MJ to not upset her, which I think was unfair to put on her. I realize that Kara is the executive producer, and should be aware of what's going on, but to give her that information and not be upfront with Mary Jane herself about it, was definitely wrong. After the meeting, Gael (Kara's little friend from a few weeks ago) comes to ask her to lunch, which she can't make. However, she does agree to dinner plans for the next night. When MJ walks out to see who this guy is finally, Gael compliments her on her show, and they speak a little bit about immigration reform and the future stories she will do on the subject. Kara herself looks really uncomfortable.

After work that night, Mary Jane walks in on Niecy having sex with Cameron in her bed! Niecy apologizes, but MJ just walks away angry. Even when Cameron leaves, Niecy keeps apologizing, but MJ can't even deal with it. Later, Niecy asks if Mary Jane is going to kick them out, and MJ says no. Niecy promises not to disrespect her house like that again. However, MJ asks her a very real question. Isn't Niecy tired of making promises and apologizing for her constant mistakes? Right when Niecy seems to be getting her life together, she messes up yet again. Mary Jane tells upfront that her life can't revolve around guys, which leads Niecy to angrily bring up the fact that MJ is freezing her eggs and drinking too much. They get into a very heated argument, and MJ tells her off! MJ's definitely on the defense about the drinking, and tells Niecy upfront that Niecy really doesn't do anything besides take care of her kids, and that's not an actual paying job! When Niecy storms off, she calls Paul, Sr., who quickly comes over and gets both of them together. Though they argue back and forth, Paul tells them that neither one of them were raised to act that way. At the end of the night, Paul ends up taking Niecy and Trayvion back to his house, though, before, Mary Jane stresses that she doesn't have a drinking problem.

At work the next day, MJ is exhausted while trying to edit with Lance. He begins to give her a
relaxing foot massage, which was all well and good until Sheldon Dewitt walks in! Embarrassed, Mary Jane quickly has Lance take him to the conference room. Turns out Sheldon popped up surprisingly to get a feel of who Mary Jane really is and what she can offer him with her platform. He's never given interviews, because he'd rather do the work and let other people come to their own conclusions. However, his plan is to get his message out to the masses, and sees Talk Back as a potential opportunity to do so, since MJ's show targets much of the specific audience he is trying to reach. However, MJ refuses to be used like that! As they walk around the studio, they talk more about MJ's reasoning behind freezing her eggs and allowing the cameras to capture her moment. Sheldon also kind of flirts with her, which makes me wonder if maybe just maybe we'll see something happen with them later on down the line!

At the Patterson house, Helen is upset with Paul for bringing Niecy back. Niecy hides away with Trayvion, not wanting to deal with her grandmother. Meanwhile, Kara forgets that she was supposed to have a date with Gael that night. She's late, and almost backs out, but MJ tells her that she's gotta go! When she gets to the restaurant, Gael is rightfully upset that she was late and didn't let him know she was going to be. Since Kara refuses to deal with any more guilt about her work schedule, she ends up storming off upset.

At the end of the episode, MJ talks with Mark about Sheldon, and also admits that she feels lost in her own life. She's honestly glad that she has this job, because it helps to distract her from everything. At her house, she gets a message from Paul telling her that everything is good with Niecy at home, though Helen is still upset. She ends up drinking, though she definitely shouldn't with the hormones! Sheldon gives her a late night phone call to say that he won't do a live interview, but will do a pre-recorded one. Though Mary Jane is not all that impressed by the late night call, it's clear that she's not too upset either! I see something happening with them in the future!

Keeping these spotlights coming! As always, if you are or represent an upcoming artist, designer, producer, etc., and are interested in a feature on The Spotlight, please read our Features/Submissions page for more details!

Today, I’m happy to feature one of my fellow Moonz (aka strong supporters of Wale and each other!), poet Christian Richardson! Christian started writing poetry in his senior year of high school back in 2007, with his first poem being a love poem to a girl he was “foolishly in love with,” he joked. “We were not communicating at the time, so I wrote her a letter instead.” Poetry soon became a way for him to truly open up about his feelings and emotions about his life circumstances.

The poet honestly stated that his upbringing made him resentful and angry, and he internalized a lot of his emotions. However, writing gave him an outlet. “I didn’t really know how to express myself any other way,” Christian admitted. “I couldn’t articulate my emotions clearly and lucid so I indulged myself a lot more in to writing my emotions down instead of talking about them.” I personally know that feeling so well! Regardless of what you write about, many writers, or at least the ones I know, often struggle to express themselves verbally, and can sometimes hold their emotions in. However, writing is always a freeing release. I know that for myself. Christian personally uses those emotions in his performances.

Christian knew that poetry was something that he wanted to seriously pursue once he graduated from college. In school, he continued to write constantly, but was focused more on graduating as well as fraternity life, which kept him away from pursuing a career as a poet full time. Though even now he has a 9 to 5, he spends the rest of his time writing and practicing for performances, with the goal of eventually becoming a full-time traveling poet and motivational speaker.

Inspired by friends in the poetry scene Greg Long (aka Tripp Fontane) and Amber Steele (aka Poetic Am), Christian uses his gift for writing and spoken word in a powerful way! Two outstanding pieces he shared with me are “Venting” and “Black Man, White Cop,” which you can view below!

“Venting” showcases Christian speaking about his own personal issues as well as his issues with society. “I talked a lot about insecurities, my dissatisfaction with the amount of debt people accumulate after college and how sometimes we buy in to that ‘American fantasy,’ (I can’t even call it American dream) that things are all gravy if we get a degree,” he said. He says in first line, “I find comfort in low fat yogurts, and 50 calorie pita chips” which he said was basically a stab at society’s constant push for perfection. “We are never skinny enough, or have enough muscle to be that ideal person people want and accept. And it definitely gets deeper throughout.”

In the second piece, “Black Man, White Cop,” Christian took on the role of current cases of police brutality and racism with black men including Trayvon Martin and Eric Garner. “Those particular cases and verdicts actually made me feel something,” he disclosed. “When I heard the verdict of Eric Garner case, I’ll never forget, I was in my car sitting in Chipotle parking lot and I just broke into tears. Like any of those cases that could have been me. And I really questioned my value to the world as a Black male today.”

In the future, Christian would like to travel around the world and perform his poetry. “I don’t even want to be rich for real, just enough to maintain and do what I love,” he said. “See the world, gain perspective, write and perform the rest of my life away. That’s all I really want for real.”

You can connect with this amazing and humble poet on Twitter and Instagram,” and see more of his work on YouTube!

Got another spotlight for you all, and several more in the coming weeks! I’m definitely very excited! As always, if you or your client is interested in being featured on The Spotlight, please check out our Features/Submissions page for guidelines!

Today, we have Berlin-based singer Fanci! The singer got his start in music fairly early, taking classical piano lessons at the age of 6, and eventually went on to take jazz lessons with Berlin's famed piano player Reggie Moore and guitar lessons with Rudy Stevenson. “Both taught [me] how to improvise on piano and guitar, and so I was able to write songs,” Fanci said.

Fanci grew up in southwest Berlin, where many American military troops were stationed, so he actually always hung out with American kids. “My father was a huge James Brown and Marvin Gaye fan so I was surrounded by funk and soul artists,” he stated. “The German music never excited me.” Inspired by artists like Curtis Mayfield and Prince, some of Fanci’s own music has a funk feel, but he also connects various genres of music between different musical eras. “I often sing with a falsetto voice,” the singer said of his musical style. “In my instrumental arrangements, I like the combination of old analog instruments like a mellotron, which was already used by the Beatles and Genesis in the early 70s or a hammond organ with different drum computer sounds like a linn drum machine or a roland tr-808.”

His own song, “Funky Sexy Cool” mixes George Michael's "Too Funky" and Prince's "Kiss,” though later he and producers Ryan Benyo and Monte Malone added a bass line. The song is really fun and will have you dancing within seconds! It has a retro vibe that definitely stands apart, and I believe could really do well on the charts! Check out a snippet of the awesome track below!

Currently Fanci is working on his first album, cutting down tracks to create the final product. “I wrote about 50 songs and now I'm reproducing the potential best songs,” he said. In addition to putting the final touches on the album, Fanci records with different German bands and artists, playing on the keys.

In terms of what sets him apart from other artists, his sound is definitely very distinctive. “I believe there aren't many artists who mix up the sounds of different decades,” Fanci said. “Nowadays the focus is on fatness and danceable rhythms.” Regarding his future in music, Fanci keeps his ambitions very simple. “I want to retain the freedom of writing songs at my leisure and hopefully with the same team I'm working with now,” he said.

You can check out more from Fanci on his official website and SoundCloud, as well as connect with him on Facebook, and Twitter!

I recently featured music and did an interview with alternative R&B/pop singer Ash! On February 10, 2015, the artist dropped her debut project, The Perfect EP, for listeners! The four-track EP was produced by T Brown, who has worked previously with Janelle Monae (Ash is also a background singer for The Electric Lady!).

Ash’s debut reflects her own feelings on love, and, between the actual music and lyrics, listeners are bound to really connect with the EP! "The Perfect EP, I hope helps change the conversation in music. I think the way I've chosen to write about love will add a cool twist to the dialogue that so many artists are already having. At the very least I hope it compels people to love deeper," Ash said of the project.

Check out my review of The Perfect EP below!

“I feel like the world is ours, long as we are, are together…” The mid-tempo track, “Lost” begins the EP as Ash sings about her life and love. Even though sometimes she feels like she is far from where she is supposed to be, she’s never lost as long as she is with the one she loves. Any risks or costs are worth it to her. Personally, I've been here. When things are going wrong, having people, romantic or otherwise, in your life that can lift you up and be there for you is incredible. No greater feeling.

“I know you don’t want my love…I know you don’t need it, but I love you anyway…” The second song on the project, “Anyway,” is a fun, upbeat dance track that I really loved. Ash sings of wanting to make things work with her love, even though he doesn’t seem to want her. Though it all, she loves him—when he makes her happy and even when they disagree and he pisses her off! That’s true, unconditional love, that is really hard to find!

“No regrets, no apologies…love affair between you and me. I don’t care what nobody thinks cuz all I want is all I can see…”Dear Dream” is a softer ballad where Ash describes her love as being the perfect dream for her. No matter what anyone has to see, he’s all she can see and is all she really needs. It was a very beautiful track that I had on repeat for quite a while.

“You don’t have to be, all these things are extreme…Let’s forget them, and just enjoy the ride…” The EP ends with Ash’s single, “Perfect,” which was featured on The Spotlight earlier this year. The energetic and bubbly track is the perfect way to end the project! The light-hearted song gives the message of finding a love that will do the simple things and Ash states that he’s perfect just the way he is. She doesn't need much. The song was actually a tribute to her father, who recently passed away. It’s a very fun but real track to listen to. When you really love someone, you realize that he or she doesn’t have to be perfect. Their flaws and imperfections don’t matter. The love you have for that person outweighs it all.

The EP is really chill and relaxing to listen to. When I spoke to Ash, she seemed like such a bright, fun, and positive woman, and it definitely shows in this project. Her vocals and the music production shine on their own, but the message of love throughout the EP shines even brighter. As I listened, I realized that this EP doesn't even have to be seen just in terms of romantic love. It's all about love in general. Regardless of what you go through, when you have real love in your life--from your significant other, your family, or your friends--it's truly a beautiful thing. I loved the EP, and will definitely be having it play on rotation on my iPhone!

RATING: ★★★★★ (Five stars)

The Challenge: Battle of the Exes 2 is winding down, and it's getting even crazier! Picking up from last week's cliffhanger in the Dome, it's neck and neck between Johnny and Adam as they stack their crates to reach that bell! Adam tries to jump to try to ring the bell, and fails, but Johnny is able to make it and rings the bell. Though Adam and Brittany are headed home, they definitely killed it for rookies!

That night, Sarah vents about Jordan's mood since that last challenge. Jordan is also upset that Sarah seems to be stressing him so much. It's crazy, because their partnership was so solid up until that last challenge! Now that we're getting down to the money, everyone is going to struggle to keep it together.

The next day, T.J. announces the teams will be playing "Are You The One?" It's T.J.'s (and my own) personal favorite--trivia! The objective is easy. The teams have to do is answer a series of questions from geography, pop culture, sports, and spelling. Everyone will be wrapped up in a tarp above water, with each team getttng two strikes. The first team to get dropped in the water is headed to the Dome. The last team standing is the Power Couple!

Quickly Johnny misses a question, and then Averey spells "endorphins" wrong, which gets them dropped in the water first. Johnny and Averey are headed to the Dome for the second time in a row! Towards the end, Jordan and Sarah are one of the last couples standing, along with, surprisingly, Jay and Jenna! While up there, Jay tries to make a deal with Jordan, but he refuses since Johnny is in the Dome. Jordan also talks trash, implying that Jay and Jenna won't win anyway. Ridiculously, Jay and Jenna win Power Couple after Jordan incorrectly answers the location of Stonehenge and Sarah misspells "diaphragm." Jordan is pissed because, honestly, Jay and Jenna got really easy questions. Sarah is more positive about it, and plans to try to work the game in their favor.

Back at the house, Sarah tries to talk to Jordan, and he's all in his feelings. Sarah tells him that a lot of apologizing has to be done on his part, and Jordan knows that he needs to. He also knows he needs to say that he wanted to wait on Reilly for his decision of who he wanted to go against, though it's clear that Jay and Jenna would be the obvious choice. However, when Sarah tries to talk about how he's been acting, Jordan gets mad and walks off.

That night, Sarah and Jordan try to get out of the Dome, and Jay and Jenna don't actually want to throw them in. They all make a deal not to vote for each other. Jay then calls over Leroy, and tells him upfront that he's putting them in. Nia comes down, and says that 100% Jordan, Johnny, and Zach (the very people that Jay is scared to upset) will vote them into the Dome in a heartbeat if and when the time comes. Leroy tells them both to sleep on this decision and really think about what they're doing.

At deliberation, Jay and Jenna and decide to still send in Leroy and Nia. The best decision for them in a final is to have Sarah and Jordan have to on their side. I have to kind of agree. Leroy and Nia are a decent team, but they hold no power. They haven't come close to winning any of the challenges, though they have a strong chance of winning against people in the Dome.

At the Dome, T.J. announces they will be playing "Hooking Up." The goal is to hook your opponent either on the hips or back using a rope and carabiner. Once a person is hooked, they will be launched up in the air for all to see. The best two out of three rounds win! It's definitely going to be a physical challenge, and Leroy and Nia both have a little more meat on Johnny and Averey, so this is going to be rough. Leroy manages to hook Johnny when he takes his eye off Leroy for a second. Averey and Nia's round is excruciating to watch (the actual Dome took two hours). They are both tired, but Nia manages to hook Averey sending Johnny and Averey home. Now Leroy and Nia are coming back with a little bit of a vengeance against Jay and Jenna. Leroy himself is really determined to get to the Final!

Being Mary Jane is really heating up! Picking up from last week, Mary Jane’s maid finds a bunch of food under Niecy's bed, which shocks MJ. She has a conversation with Niecy about her overeating and being overweight. Mary Jane wants to help her niece, becoming her life coach somewhat. Though Niecy feels a little pressed to lose the weight, she obliges. In the new effort to get Niecy healthy, MJ gives her one of MJ’s own famous post-its to read as an affirmation every morning. She teaches Niecy how to cook vegetables, gets her a water bottle to encourage her to drink more water, and goes walking with her and the kids. Though Niecy struggles with the changes at first, she seems to be adapting.

At work, Mary Jane begins her story on freezing her own eggs, having the camera following her for the entire two week process. She speaks with her gynecologist, Dr. Morris, about the process for her viewers. Though Mary Jane is 38, it is not too late for her, though the sooner the better. Mary Jane has to take hormone shots every morning (which, after the first one, leaves her with a rather noticeable bruise), which could cause nausea and vomiting, she’s told. She should also avoid stress, jacuzzis, drinking a lot of alcohol, and second hand smoke.

Later, at the Patterson house, MJ talks to Mama Helen, who doesn't understand why MJ's doing this story. She calls the entire process desperate basically, but it’s all about keeping your options open, in my opinion. I personally wouldn’t do it, but I don’t blame Mary Jane for doing it herself. She does want kids, though it took her a while to get to that point. Helen also asks about Niecy, who MJ says is having a breakthrough, though Helen doubts that she'll change completely. Mary Jane goes to see Paul, Jr who has been invited to a millionaires’ conference, The Gifting Alliance, after selling enough weed to buy a few shares in a business. Civil rights attorney Sheldon DeWitt, whom Mary Jane has been trying to get an interview with for a while, will be the keynote speaker. She wants to be his plus one, but PJ claims to already be bringing his "business partner." I’m still trying to figure out how he got an invite, though! Shares or not, he definitely ain’t close to being a millionaire!

That night, Lisa asks Mary Jane about the egg freezing and David, while administering MJ’s shot for the day. MJ wants to move on from it all, but Lisa just wants to make sure that MJ is not doing this to try to one up David and his baby on the way. Mad that Lisa would suggest that, Mary Jane ends the conversation by asking Niecy instead to stick her with the shot.

At work the next day, Kara tells Mary Jane to beg Paul, Jr. to get into that conference. She calls him (while he's having sex, no less), and he tells her no again. However, he does say that David might have an extra ticket since he is a business owner himself. She is surprised that PJ still talks to him, but he doesn't want to throw away his friendship with David just because of her drama. That’s completely understandable. Kara tells MJ to keep trying to get in, so Mary Jane swallows her pride and calls David, asking if he has additional tickets. He offers her the plus one, and she will meet him there. Though David clearly would love to continue the conversation, Mary Jane promptly gets off the phone with him.

After he gets off the phone with Mary Jane, we see that David was sitting by Anna the entire time! It turns out that Anna got a call from her ex, too. She reveals to David that she will be leaving for Florence for a fashion collective a day earlier than expected, and that her ex will be there to talk to her. She can't cut him off, and feels like she owes him closure. This leads to a whole conversation between them about the time and energy spent on their exes. It’s very clear to me that, even with the baby, their relationship is not going to last. I don’t see that spark, to be honest.

Meanwhile, Patrick and Paul, Sr. go hit golf balls. Paul asks Patrick about his job, and it turns out Patrick’s boss is lobbying for him to get more overtime. He also has a couple of more months until he can get a new apartment for him, Niecy, and the kids Paul wants to help, and can put in a good word to get him a management position, but Patrick refuses. I understand not wanting people’s help personally. However, you have to be somewhat willing to let your pride go in order to get ahead. I’m not saying lose all of your dignity or look consistently for handouts, but you have to not be ashamed or too prideful to ask for assistance when you need it, or when it could help you advance. It’s hard, but you have to.

Later, MJ is sick from the injections. Niecy gives her another with ease, before MJ gets ready to go to the Alliance. Once she gets there, MJ meets up with, who compliments her beauty. He sent her calla lilies, though her favorites are actually white tulips, but she thanks him anyway. She acts very cold towards him, as if to let him know that this is strictly business. Meanwhile, Kara reveals to their supervisor Gary that the ratings on MJ’s egg freezing segment look good, which is good because the network paid a lot of money for MJ’s medical expenses!

At the Alliance, Sheldon is introduced as the speaker. He speaks on the issue of equality in this country being a commodity, which is actually an interesting concept that would be interesting to hear more about. Sheldon speaks openly about the fact that it's easier to get money, than change the structure of our communities and world. However, he's up for that challenge. Mary Jane is in awe, and goes to meet him afterwards. She's been following his career for years. Though he's never granted an interview, she believes he should use her platform to express his views.

At home, Niecy has a bath and drinks champagne in Mary Jane's bathroom. She goes through MJ's things and finds her sex toys instead of cocoa butter! Niecy also finds a bunch of alcohol, and clearly plans to bring that up with MJ. However, when she sees a security camera watching her, Niecy bolts out quick!

That night, Paul, Sr and Helen talk about Patrick, who is slowly making progress picking up the pieces to his life. However, Paul thinks that Patrick should let people help him. Helen tells him that Patrick wants to do things on his own, even if he doesn't have to. She encourages Paul to be patient with Patrick and to let Patrick show them that he can do it on his own.

Later, Niecy checks out the security camera footage and sees how much MJ is drinking. She also sees MJ playing with her toys (eek!). Meanwhile, David and MJ talk at the Alliance, and she reveals she wants something different out of a relationship, not this complicated mess. Though David manages to pull her in with a kiss, MJ refuses further advances. She tells him that they always do this--have a passionate night together, but then it's over. David continues to play games, and Mary Jane doesn't have time for it anymore. She just wants to feel good about herself, and walks away, telling David to leave her alone. Good for her!

When she gets back home, Mary Jane tries to rest in her room, but it's clear she's having a restless night. She puts her dress and shows back on, and leaves to go see another guy! It's MJ's cutty buddy, who has no name that we know of, but they have some very passionate sex! He tells her she can spend the night, but she wants to go home. The mystery lover says that he has more to give her besides just sex, but MJ doesn't want that. I wish she would try to work things out with this guy, and see where things go, but she'll probably end up still traipsing after David, unfortunately.

Quite a few surprises on this episode of The Game! Picking up from last week, it turns out
Chardonnay just called her sorority sister, nobody really mysterious or important. Chardonnay wants to forget Jason and turn up, so her soror plans to throw her a divorce party! Meanwhile, while Malik is getting a haircut, he gets a call from Keira. She's alone since Blue and the rest of the starters are making an appearance at a national fitness club for kids. Keira needs Malik to come with her to her acting class, which he refuses at first, but reluctantly agrees to go to.

Later, Jason goes to see Kelly, acting like he's there to see Brittany, but we all know that's not the case. After Jason gets Kelly to admit that her "boyfriend Enrique" is fake, he admits that he believes he has another chance with her and still loves her. Kelly kicks him out, saying that it's not her fault of what happened between him and Chardonnay. It wasn't totally, but she played a role. That kiss sparked a lot of old feelings!

At the divorce party, Chardonnay is having a ball! She jumps backwards over the broom and cuts across a cake decorated with a huge chain to symbolize her freedom. Though there are a lot of fine guys around, she claims to not be ready to see anyone new though. That is until she meets a British guy who snoops through her fridge. They start laughing and joking, and, though Chardonnay hesitates at first, they have sex!

Meanwhile, at Keira's acting class, she and Malik perform a scene from a film, which has them playing a couple. There is no spark at first, and the acting coach stops them shortly in, trying to get them to connect since the characters are in love. She calls for them to kiss, which they both object to. The coach lets Keira know upfront that, in acting, there are no sexualities, no fiances and no commitments to anything other than what is on that page. Keira and Malik kiss really sensually, which brings out more in their acting! It was a great scene! Afterwards, it's mad awkward between them, though. This isn't the first time I've thought that Keira and Malik would make a good couple, honestly. I think they relate to each other more than Blue and Keira do. We'll see where things go!

At home, Chardonnay loses her ring after the sex with the British dude (either I missed his name or the show never mentioned it). Now, she accuses him of stealing it. Chardonnay eventually tases him, knocking him semi-unconscious. However, her soror finds the ring in cleaning solution, so it was all for nothing.

Later that night, Kelly comes over to see Jason and kicks Malik out of his own house. She says that she really never intended to ruin his marriage. Jason admits it was on him, but asks if she can honestly say she never considered getting back together with him? Kelly remembered the days, and found Jason's personal growth and change attractive. She did wonder how things would've been if he could've been that man with her. Kelly agrees to see where things go, but says they have to take it slow to see if this is what they both really want. She wants a slow, romantic courtship, which Jason agrees to. However, he gets down on one knee as a joke, almost freaking her out! I always knew they would end up back together. Sucks for Chardonnay, but Kelly and Jason were meant to be.

Back at Chardonnay's, Tasha gets Bibs to gets British Guy out and plans to pay him off. Chardonnay says that since Tasha fixed the problem, this makes them even from Tasha essentially abandoning her. However, Tasha tells her that the problem is not fixed, because the problem is Chardonnay herself. Chardonnay is clearly spiraling a bit, and Tasha sees it. Tasha tells Chardonnay that she used to have morals, and now she's a mess. Chardonnay can't just automatically snap back from this, but Chardonnay admits that she is tired of nursing her wounds. Tasha suggests for Chardonnay to get out of San Diego for a while and heal, comforting her as she sobs. I feel for Chardonnay, but I definitely agree. I don't know what that would mean for Brandy and the character, but Chardonnay does need some time outside of this city.

Can't believe The Challenge: Battle of the Exes is already at the halfway point! Picking up from last week, the house goes out to party per usual. Everyone in the house still can't believe that Nia and Leroy took out Bananas and Nany! Meanwhile, Adam wants to hook up with Averey,  and flirts with her, but Averey has a boyfriend and denies his advances. However, she does get upset that Johnny starts talking to Adam later, the one guy who wants to spend time with her. This girl is borderline mental. Nobody cares Averey. You have a boyfriend. Johnny has a girlfriend. He ain't thinking about you girl!

The next day, Jordan and Sarah talk about how it doesn't matter now who they go against at this point. They work together so well, while a lot of the other teams struggle to come together and get through challenges as a team. I definitely agree. Jordan and Sarah are probably the less combative in the house with each other, and gel very nicely. Probably because they were never really together. They just had a little hookup and kept it moving. A lot of these other couples have history, and deep issues with each other that keeps them for working together.

That day, at the challenge, TJ announces they'll be playing "Don't Forget About Me." The goal is for the girls to look at and memorize a puzzle, and then try to solve it. However, it isn't as easy as it sounds. Each puzzle for the teams is underneath a 300 pound steel door, which the guys have to hold open while the girls try to memorize! When the guys' arms give out on holding the door open, they can't reopen it! Then, the teams have to make their way up this mountain with their puzzle pieces in order for the girls to start working on the puzzle. If teams need to figure out more of the puzzle, they have to come down the mountain and start the process all over again.

It's clear from the get go that is definitely going to take quite a few trips to finish this challenge, which is taxing on everyone. It's hard for the guys to hold the doors, and that walk up the hill is terrible under the beating sun! This is a very hard challenge, and even Jordan and Sarah start to fall apart. At a point in the challenge, Leroy drops his bag of puzzle pieces next to Jay's and picks up the wrong one, which throws EVERYTHING off because Leroy and Nia end up having a piece that Jordan and Sarah are missing to complete their puzzle towards the end. They have to wait for Jay and Jenna to make their way up the mountain towards the end just for that one piece. In the end, though, Wes and Theresa end up winning Power Couple again, which I can't stand. Leroy and Nia take 2nd place, and Jordan and Sarah take 3rd. This challenge gets so bad, that the majority of the teams have to go into sudden death because the sun starts to set. T.J. announces that whoever has the least amount of correct pieces done in a final run will go to the Dome. I honestly thought that, with their bickering and Zach's typical douchebag behavior, that he and Jonna would lose. However, Adam and Brittany end up being the last place team, and will be going to the Dome for the fourth time!

Back the house, Wes and Theresa already know they want to throw in Johnny and Averey, but he thinks they will beat Adam and Brittany. They talk to Averey, and admit to her that she and Johnny will be going in because of Johnny's alliance with Bananas before, and the fact that that he has true friends here, and is a strong competitor. Averey gets emotional about it, and ends up blaming Johnny for it all. At deliberation, Wes and Theresa stick to their word and vote in Johnny and Averey.

That night at the Dome, Adam & Brittany and Johnny & Averey compete in "Stacking Up." There are two piles of crates and two bells hanging 20 feet high. The guys have to stack and climb up these crates to ring the bell, while the girls help to balance them and get the crates up to them. The first team to ring the bell will get to stay in the game. Johnny goes at this slow and steady, using logic to get to the top. Adam and Brittany, however, move quickly and sloppily. Eventually, their tower comes tumbling down. However, at the end of the episode, they manage to rebuild  and catch up to Johnny and Averey! The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with the game being extremely too close to call! I honestly don't really care which team leaves, though. Adam and Brittany are rookies from a show that I didn't even watch, and I just really can't stand Averey. The only reason I'm semi-rooting for her and Johnny is because Johnny seems like a good guy who actually deserves a shot in the final. He just has an overemotional partner who's stuck in the past. We'll see who goes home next week!

I am so glad Being Mary Jane is back on TV! Picking up from last week's season premiere, Mary Jane wakes up to noise in her house, and grabs a bat to approach the intruder! It's actually David, who makes her breakfast, half naked. He tries to kiss on her, but she backs away from him. Instead, she apologizes for everything, including giving up on him and stealing his sperm. He asks if he can kiss her, and does. However, they are interrupted by an unknown baby, who is David's son, Andre! Turns out to all be a dream, and Mary Jane wakes up to Isabelle crying.

Niecy is cooking breakfast, and lets Isabelle cry to "teach her independence," which is ironic because Niecy lacks independence herself! When MJ realizes that Niecy has screwed up her French oven, she continually texts Patrick to figure out when Niecy is going to move back. Patrick ignores her and makes his own breakfast and watches TV. A little later, Patrick comes over, and Mary Jane vents about Niecy staying there, and honestly wants her out soon. Patrick is "working" on a better living situation for everybody, but no telling when that will come. At that moment, we see that Niecy's son Trevion has drawn on MJ's walls, and it's yet another reason why Niecy and her kids have to go!

Later, MJ and a cop watch an abused prostitute, as MJ plans to do a story about sex trafficking in Atlanta. The cop is honest with her, saying that the ones that can usually be saved are the ones that just became a part of this. Pimps literally buy, sell, and trade girls like they were merchandise, and the reason they stick around are because of the threats they get on their lives from their pimps.

Back at work, Mary Jane continues to research stories, and eventually brings a group of girls to tour the studio. Kara comes through, and tells MJ she has found a girl who has been sold in Atlanta who may be able to add to the story. The girl's name is goes by Polly and is 17. However, she wants to meet MJ before actually going on air. At that moment, Mark comes over frantically, announcing that his parents are in town. Apparently, every time that they have visited him, MJ has acts as his beard. Though she's busy, she agrees to step in for him again.

That night, Mark's boyfriend Eric gets mad about this situation, and understandably so. I get that Mark doesn't want to put himself out there to his family, but I don't think he's really fooling anyone. Plus he's hurting Eric in the process, and himself really. Eric lets Mark know that he needs to own who he is--a black, gay man. It's literally been years since they've been doing this. When his parents arrives, Mark tells Eric to leave out of the back door and head over to Mary Jane's, which I know has to be so hurtful.

Meanwhile, back at the station, one of the girls touring the studio asks her dad to go to the movies, Her dad thanks Kara, and adds that they met briefly before. As he is about to leave, Kara strikes up a conversation with him. He asks where he can get a drink close by while he waits for his daughter, and she invites him to drink at the office.

At Mark's, he and Mary Jane make up stories for his parents about their fake engagement. His mom
asks the really good questions (seemingly already knowing that this is all a sham). She asks if MJ's parents approve of Mark, when will they actually get married, or, at least, when will Mark get a real ring! No one's that busy. Mary Jane continues the facade as Mark goes to get more wine. Beatrice just comes out and says she knows he's gay, and wants him to share his life with them, and stop hiding. Mark admits to his father he's always been gay, but his father feels like this came out of nowhere. Stan is more upset that he's been lying to him all this time. Even though he is admittedly a homophobe, Stan tells him upfront that the son they raised would've had the courage to be whoever the hell he wanted to be regardless of what anyone thought, including them. Mark has been putting his parents off whenever they wanted to visit to hide his life. It's sad, but there are many in the black community that are homophobic, and those that are of the LBGTQ community, at times, feel like they cannot be open about who they are. I love this show, because it brings up these kinds of topics for open discussion at home, on social media, etc.

Later that night, MJ goes to meet Polly at a diner. Polly reveals that she eats a happy meal every day for cheap from her pimp. Mary Jane asks her about her day, which consisted of watching TV, since she was "on the blob." The pimps apparently get violent with the girls being on their period like they can help. Polly's registered in high school, but doesn't go. It turns out that she's actually 15, not 17, which makes the sad situation even worse.

At the office, Kara is talking to the guy about her work as a producer and how she often works late to create quality shows. She still considers herself on the  climb in her career, and she wants to win an Emmy for working for a network. She admits that her work and her being the breadwinner affected her marriage, as well as her ex screwing the real estate agent. He asks if he can take her out for a proper drink one night,  but she's not interested in dating Latino men. He's a little offended, but he knows she wants to see him again. He gets a text from her daughter saying the movie's over, and tells Kara to let him know if she wants that drink. He leaves his business card, revealing his name is Gian Montoya.

At the diner, Polly talks about how the men she's with are gross. Some men don't even want sex. They just want someone to listen to them. Mary Jane tries to get Polly to tell her her real name, which Polly refuses to reveal. However, she admits that "Polly" was the name of her imaginary friend who "always protected her," and she uses that to give her strength through all this. Mary Jane tells her that there are many girls who need to hear her story. However, Polly wants money in exchange. When MJ reveals that she can't pay money but could offer her something else, Polly walks away, saying "It's always about the money." As Mary Jane goes after her, Polly's pimp walks in and angrily tells her to get in the car. MJ asks for Polly's price to get her out of this, and the pimp wants to sell her for $20,000! Mary Jane reveals she only has checks which angers the pimp and he drags Polly away.

At the end of the episode, Mary Jane looks through clips of other girls who may be able to talk on the show. As she Jane is taking notes, Mark comes over. He tells MJ that he and Eric broke up, after Eric thought long and hard about their relationship, and realizes that Mark and MJ have the better relationship. During the day, they were just marking time. There was no real depth. It means so much that he came out to his parents, but he shared that moment with MJ, not Eric, so it's for the best that they broke up. As MJ continues to look at a video of another prostitute, she calls Niecy and tells her that everything is going to be fine. Everyone is going to be right there to help her while Niecy figures it out. It's clear that MJ doesn't even want Niecy to consider this life.

I've been listening to and checking out a great amount of artists, producers, and a few designers lately! It's been a great start to 2015, I must say. As always, if you are or represent an upcoming artist, producer, designer, etc., please refer to our Features/Submissions page for more information on how you can be featured on The Spotlight

Today, on the blog, we have singer/songwriter/producer Lamont Bagfeel! Lamont  got his start in music when he began to play the drums at church from about 9 - 12 years old. One day, he got on the organ, and was told by a guy at the church that Lamont couldn't play it because it was too hard to learn. "That actually made me want to learn how to play it, so I just started focusing on piano and keyboard," Lamont stated. Though the singer never had real formal training on how to play, he constantly listened to music and started picking it up, teaching himself how to read music and eventually was able to skillfully play bass, guitar, keyboard, organ, and drums.

In high school, the talented musician joined a go go band and continued to play in church. He also started playing in clubs when he was around 16 or 17, playing in 21+ clubs. "They would let me in because I played keyboard for these bands," he chuckled. Tired of the politics at his home church, he eventually left and went to play at a friend's church. Used to playing for free, he realized that he could really make a career out of being a musician after getting his first paycheck from the church. "After I made that first check, I thought 'Oh shoot, this is it! I'm not doing anything else!" he joked. Making $600 a week at 16 was pretty nice! He actually didn't even want to be an artist at first. "I love writing music, and I love producing music, so I wanted to just write and produce music for others," he admitted. His friends involved in music were actually creating and writing their own work, so he had a bunch of music that he didn't want to go to waste. He thought, "Well, if no one else is going to sing my music, I'll do my own music. I'll perform myself, as an artist."

Lamont is inspired by artists like Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and Kurtis Blow, as well as Kim Burrell, Common, and Mos Def. However, he doesn't shut himself out from other genres, listening to John Mayer and country artist Brad Paisley. he soul and substance of gospel music that he grew up with has been a great influence on him. "I'm looking to give that feeling off in every song. I don't want any bubblegum music," Lamont said. "I want something that's like oldies but goodies. I want that feel, stuff that won't die [like] Stevie Wonder [and] Marvin Gaye," he said. "That sound may not be popular now, but it's not dead, though, and we can bring it back." One day he heard D'Angelo. "My life was never the same. It was forever changed," he laughed. "He was the influence. He is STILL the influence. When I make music, I am trying to reach the bar that he has definitely set." Setting high standards for his music is definitely important to Lamont. "Nowadays, in music, there is no bar. When you go back in the history of music, the level was so high to even be considered a musician. They had standards in musicians and writers and singing," the musician stated. "Nowadays, as long as you got auto-tune, you're on. As long as you're sexy, you're on. The music industry is actually not about music anymore. It's about everything else."

Though he did get his start in gospel, he chose to step away from today's gospel music scene, preferring the 90's contemporary gospel era. "The gospel music today is kind of stupid. It's too busy musically. They're not saying anything," the artist said candidly. "It's made to be an emotional ride versus actually delivering something with some substance." He also spoke about the controversies with specific gospel artists and about how their personal lives don't always reflect the life they sing about. "The industry in itself, to me, is a contradiction. You would expect for some of these people to have better character, and be better people," Lamont said. He also believes that his individuality, which he credits his mother for creating, and laid back nature is frowned upon or not understood.

The singer branched out into R&B in his mid-twenties, releasing two projects last year--a self-titled EP and another EP entitled Identity. Lamont is currently gearing up for his new release, Lamont Bagfeel and Hippie Control, which will be released on March 10th. "This EP is more soul with a hint of neo-soul," Lamont said of the project, which he is producing and writing himself. "A lot of songs were based on the guitar, so it has an alternative sound to it." In addition to putting the finishing touches on the EP, Lamont is also serving as producer for two other artists as they work on EPs of their own.

Lamont acknowledges several different factors that separates himself from other artists. "The fact that my music definitely has substance, both musically and as far as writing goes [separates me]. I'm talking about some real stuff," the artist said. He also likes his laid-back style, which isn't showy or flashy. He keeps it real to show that he is no different from his audience. His stage presence and overall musical delivery also sets him apart. "Delivery is next level," Lamont said. "I don't care who you are. I don't care what kind of day you had. You're gonna get with it when you hear it." In terms of his future in the industry, Lamont doesn't want too much of the fame and the fortune, but would rather focus on his music. "Honestly, getting rich is great. I'm not opposed to it," he said. "But I just want a Grammy, so I can say I did it. I want to definitely tour, and live doing what I want to do." With his passion, musicality, and talent, Lamont is definitely set to go far!

You can learn and hear more from Lamont on his official website, SoundCloud, and YouTube. Also, be sure to connect with him on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

The Game is heating up! Picking up from last week, Jason goes to see Malik at Phatty's, and Malik ignores him at first. However, when Jason offers him a position on the team as third string quarterback, Malik gets excited! To him, it's his way back to glory, and he'll take what he can get!

Meanwhile, the Sunbeams come together at Tasha for their meeting. They give Chardonnay a "Sunburn" package, getting her a Costco card and apartment books since she is getting a divorce from Jason. Chardonnay thanks them and leaves, since she is technically no longer a Sunbeam. After Chardonnay leaves, they get down to business. There is a charity event before the game, but Keira is dedicated herself to acting and decides not to be there. The Sunbeams stress to her that the team comes first to , and tell that to Tasha as well. She's told that she needs to nip Chardonnay's messy divorce drama in the bud for the sake of the team.

Later, at Sabers practice, Blue talks with the team, getting them motivated with bicycles, instead of flashy cars and money. He wants them all to focus on being a better and more cohesive team The day of the geetchi is over. Malik comes in a stupid car, trying to impress everybody, but it doesn't work, as the team leaves him to go workout. Because he's third string now, he has to wait for them to finish! A blow to that ego!

Later, on the toilet sadly, Blue calls Keira in about ditching the charity event. He wants her to get more organized to be able to handle everything like he does. Meanwhile, Malik is reading the paper in the gym as Jason walks by. Malik throws the idea out there that the cohesion of the team is off, and suggests that he gets made captain again. He can be the eyes and ears for Jason on the field and in the locker room. Jason decides to run the idea up the chain, and surprisingly, Malik actually wins the spot!

Meanwhile, Chardonnay finds that Jason has two secret accounts with $12 million total! There's a strong possibility that she can wipe Jason out! Tasha comes over and tells Chardonnay that she should forgive him, and just take a couple of millions and Spadonnay, and be happy with that. Chardonnay, of course, gets pissed off with Tasha even suggesting that. Tasha admits that there will be collateral damage within the entire team, not just with Jason, if Chardonnay goes through with that. Chardonnay really needs Tasha in this moment. However, Tasha is not understanding, and it makes Chardonnay wonder if they were ever really friends. Tasha hesitates, and Chardonnay promptly kicks her out. I feel sorry for Chardonnay, because she really didn't deserve all this.

Later, Keira is late to an audition, and completely jacks it up! Towards the end of the episode, trying to balance everything, like Blue does, seems to be too much for her to handle. She's through with schedules. Keira considers herself an artist, and refuses to be put in a box. She tells Blue that she will help out with the Sunbeam stuff when she can, but plans to chase her dreams wholeheartedly. Blue agrees that they both ought to be able to go for theirs individually.

At practice, Jason tells Malik to act surprised when they announce team captain. However, Coach Sparks decides at the last minute to make Blue captain because of the work that Jason is doing with him! In the locker room, the guys tease Malik about not making captain because of his dead arm. He puts on the captain helmet, and says that he'll be announced captain and they better fall in line! Jason comes in and tries to get him to calm down before the announcement, but it's too late. Blue is announced captain, while Malik stands in shock and disappointment.

That night at Phattys, Malik is clearly pissed, and Jason comes over to apologize. Jason feels like he's trying to prove that he's still useful to the team himself. It's a part of the game, having to deal with getting older and trying to figure out what's next. Malik has a choice in how he wants to go out, but it's entirely up to him. Personally, I think that he should retire, and focus on Phatty's and maybe another position in the sports world.

At the end of the episode, Chardonnay makes a mysterious call and admits being lonely, and wants the person on the other end to see her! I'm not sure what's going on there, but I need to find out!
